We investigate what kind of logic is used in the ancient East Asian mathematics from their philosophical viewpoints. Such viewpoints are the logic by Mozi and the epistemology by Xun zi. We conclude that the logic residng in the ancient East Asian mathematics is surely existent and that the logic is the mathematics itself.

${\ll}$Xiang Ming Suan Fa${\gg}$ written by Ahn Ji-Jae, a scholar of Yuan Dynasty, is a very important mathematics text in development of mathematics in Joseon Dynasty. Also, ${\ll}$Xiang Ming Suan Fa${\gg}$ in possession of Keimeung university was designated as a Korean National Treasure on February 25, 2011. In this paper, we analyzed the structure and contents of ${\ll}$Xiang Ming Suan Fa${\gg}$. Also, we studied the influences of ${\ll}$Xiang Ming Suan Fa${\gg}$ on Joseon Dynasty's mathematics according to the comparing with mathematics books such as ${\ll}$Mook Sa Jib San Bub> and ${\ll}$San Hak Yib Moon${\gg}$.

Most of the previous environment change predictive studies had applied Oriental studies. Only Myeongri study were especially applied in studying environment change prediction. When these two studies are applied separately in analysis, accurate predictive analysis is insufficient. Therefore the purpose of this study is to study the accurateness of environment change prediction by applying Myeongri study and Yookhyo study. Research methods, August to December 2012 were surveyed workers. In the analyzed result, environment change prediction is more accurate when the two studies are done together compared to separating them. The mean and standard deviation of relation according to the general characteristics of respondents were high. Good results followed as the mean was higher by similar difference in each part of environment variability. Therefore the efficiency of prediction for environment variability seems to have increased.

This study examined the influence and role of college students' career preference type on the decision-making process of career selection, and also analyzed the effect on the confession bias in the process. The data was collected from June 20th to July 9th, 2017. The case analysis method was used for three times over 20 days by interviewing university students in the metropolitan area. The results of the analysis of the data from the study participants show that there are differences in the degree of individuals regardless of the preferred occupation type and career aptitude, but mostly there is a bias toward career and career. Confirmed biased thinking is a phenomenon that is shaped by the psychological and environmental factors of the research participants and that they try to fit themselves into a framework that reflects social awareness. The implication of this study is that the preference type affects the selection of the major, and that confirmation bias is a hindrance to proper employment and a job search. The preference for the individual job type should be properly established. Environment and opportunity should be provided.

The study aims to examine the rationality of the naming system with five properties of Korean pronunciation, which is used by most Korean name writer currently. A phonetic naming system is based on the premise that when a name is called, the sounds will have an audible effect on the speaker and the listener, and this phenomenon would ultimately have a good or bad influence on the owner of the name. The phonetic naming system is to name it by using five elements' coexistence and conflict of Korean pronunciation, and there are many progressing arguments that represent 'The Principles of Creation of Hunminjeongeum', 'The Historical Origin of Phonetic Naming System' and 'The Relevance of Modern Korean' etc. In the process of determining the validity of these arguments, distortion between the principles of creation of Hunminjeongeum and naming, a weak historical basis of the phonetic naming system, errors and problems in the usage of five elements of pronunciation, and fallacy of modern Korean phonology appear. For these reasons as above, the Korean phonetic naming system is concluded to be unreasonable, which claims not to be in line with the intention of creating Hunminjeongeum.

Faculty performance evaluation system has been settled down as an uncomfortable but unavoidable system, and it is one of the most important factors to grow the college competitiveness up. In this study, we selected and surveyed faculty evaluation models of several universities and colleges in Korea, and analyzed by comparing each evaluation areas of educational achievement, college-industry collaboration, research, and service. We also identified the properties of the current faculty evaluation models of the junior colleges, and derived several problems from these models such as an imitation of four-year university model, a disorders of job evaluation with respect to the attributes of classified jobs, a large variation of individual item weights, and an insufficient reflection of major characteristics. Based on these surveys and analysis, an improved faculty evaluation model for the junior college is proposed in this study. This model proposed four basic areas-educational achievement, college-industry collaboration, research, and service by considering the importance of the college-industry collaboration in the junior college-as well as the team evaluation area. Weights of the SCI-class paper was selected as a criterion for the arrangement of objective comparison of each evaluation items. We showed the integration method of several different evaluation model with respect to the attributes of classified jobs of each faculties, and evaluation plan of variational characteristics according to the majors of individuals in this model. Finally, we introduced an area fail and rating system to operate efficiently the proposed faculty evaluation model.

Since JiuZhang SuanShu(九章算術), the basic field of the traditional mathemtics in Eastern Asia is the field of rational numbers and hence irrational solutions of equations should be replaced by rational approximations. Thus approximate solutions of equations became a very important subject in theory of equations. We first investigate the history of approximate solutions in Chinese sources and then compare them with those in Chosun mathematics. The theory of approximate solutions in Chosun has been established in SanHakWonBon(算學原本) written by Park Yul(1621 - 1668) and JuSeoGwanGyun(籌書管見, 1718) by Cho Tae Gu(趙泰耉, 1660-1723). We show that unlike the Chinese counterpart, Park and Cho were concerned with errors of approximate solutions and tried to find better approximate solutions.

Graham Greene's The Quiet American is a war novel set in Vietnam. Thus, although war-related political stories are mainly unfolded, this novel presumes that Westerners are basically superior to the colored Vietnamese. In addition to racial issues, it describes the dual discrimination and inequality that women face. Phung, a Vietnamese woman who wishes to live a rich and comfortable life through marriage to a Western man, is a gender underdog oppressed by the capital and males. She is discriminated against by selfish views created by men, such as being expressed as an ignorant woman who can feel physical pain but not mental pain and being described as a partner to satisfy men's pleasure. Fowler and Pyle, the male lead characters who are gender strong, treat the Asian woman as a low-status person who is qualitatively different from Westerner and use and exploit the woman simply to satisfy their selfish needs. Therefore, it is hard to say that this story involves true love, as it is based on an unequal relationship. Eventually, Pyle's death brings Phung back to Fowler, confirming that Asian women are unable to escape from the gender underdog of Western men.

Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon is a mathematical book of Chosun dynasty in the early 18th century. This study is to analyze and compare the contents between Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon and Gu-Jang-San-Sul. From this study, we are able to see the contents of Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon that has been unknown in detail so far. In this comparative study, the following facts are found. First, many problems in Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon are similar to the Gu-Jang-San-Sul on the contents and frame. Most of them are same type. But some of problems in Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon have been developed. Second, there are distinct differences of description type. And Ju-Seo-Gwan-Gyeon was influenced by Gu-Jang-San-Sul but also other mathematical books. We expect that the results provide basic information for mathematics history in Korea.
