  • This study developed earth science learning materials based on paleolithic remains in the Youngsan River basin to provide students with curiosity and interest of science. These materials consist of four activities such as orientation, tour of museum, field trip to paleolithic sites, and making of remains. More than 60% of the teachers said that these materials are likely to improve the scientific process skills of students and also suggested that these could be applied to club activity, field trip, and homework. In addition, materials seemed to help students to understand the properties of the mineral and rock. We suggested that these materials could broaden teachers' subject of teaching in science.

  • This study aimed to investigate differences in self-esteem, self-efficacy, and resilience according to the general characteristics and properties of volunteer activity in Dental Hygiene students, and to investigate correlations and the factors affecting these. After explaining the aims of the study to participants and receiving their consent during January 2015, the participants were given a structured, self-report questionnaire, with 178 responses included in the final analysis. IBM SPSS Statistics (version 21.0) was used for statistical analysis, with a significance level of p<0.05. Some general characteristics and volunteer activity properties were found to affect self-efficacy, self-esteem, and resilience. Academic achievement and participation in volunteer activities improved self-efficacy, self-esteem, and resilience. In addition to the factors affecting academic achievement, volunteer participation, age, religious, etc. It is thought that the development of various programs that provide students with academic motivation and natural opportunities to participate in volunteer activities would be helpful, as would increasing group activities to encourage active participation.

  • This study attempts to identify the influence factors on the numbers of visitors and reference room users of public libraries through log-log multiple regression models, using the Korean National Libraries Statistical Data 2018. The fact found is summarized as follows; Even though books collection and seating capacities might be the most important factors in attraction of visitors and reference room users to public libraries in the past when the storage and propagation of knowledge and information was the top function of public libraries, very various and compound factors such as cultural or lifetime education programs, library operation, and user activities have an effect on inducing people to visit and use public libraries at present. This means that these days, public libraries are being transformed into some kinds of comprehensive cultural center where software elements such as cultural programs, user education, events, budget, membership, opening days, building style and age, and group activities rather than hardware elements such as books, literature material, and facilities constitute their essential parts in connection with visitor and user induction.

The study was conducted on 2016 May 1st to June 10th with 521 students at two universities. Study results showed awareness of biomedical ethics score of nursing students was 2.16 and general college students 2.01, which was statistically significant difference. Attitude scores towards human tissue donation and transplantation were 2.52 and 2.50, not statistically significant (t=4.671, p=.000). Study results indicate the need to establish biomedical ethics preferred curriculum. It also seems necessary to offer students related systematic training program in order to increase the awareness of bio-medical ethics.

  • The purpose of this study is discussing the applicability of a logic model as a mean measuring library outcomes. For a case study, this paper suggested a full framework for Reading Academy, a reading program for children and adolescents. Among the outcomes composing of the framework, medium-term outcomes were analyzed by manipulating the data the library have in its database. The findings say what the output evaluation could not show. In terms of book circulation, this program positively influenced to 52 percent of participants. Additionally, some participants joined reading book clubs after the program and some were likely to read books in various topics. This program, however, didn't make a positive impact on its re-attendance and other cultural programs' attendance. These findings indicate that the logic model contributes in the field of library outcomes and values.

  • This research is focused on the development of Math teaching and/or learning materials in which the students are centered, not teachers, and which can, in turn, activate and reinforce the students' extra curricular Math activitie The findings I came to have through my research can be summarized as follows: 1. Math teaching and/or learning materials developed based on the students' interactions in the Math extra-curricular activities helped students to learn Math better and to be more interested in Math. 2. There was a positive attitude change toward Math on the side of the students after being introduced in and exposed to Math through the above mentioned Math teaching and/or learning materials. 3. There was a positive attitude change toward Math on the side of the students after being taught Math using the above mentioned Math teaching and/or learning materials. The suggestions I came to have through my research are as follows: 1. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which can be used in the Math extra-curricular activities. 2. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing Math teaching paradigms which can be used in Math extra-curricular activities. 3. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which can be used in the Math class as well as in Math extra-curricular activities. 4. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which are more grade-, unit-, and category-conscious.
