Numerical Study on the Combustion and Exhausted Gases for Operating Conditions in a Fast Pyrolysis Power Boiler (폐기물 고열분해 동력 보일러의 운전 조건에 따른 연소 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • Numerical study was investigated to obtain the database for developing a fast pyrolysis power boiler by waste fuel. The studies with various conditions were performed using ANSYS FLUENT. Also, the fuel properties was experimentally analyzed to utilize the input parameters for numerical analysis, that were proximate and ultimate analysis, reaction kinetics included pyrolysis and combustion. The results showed that temperature, combustion and exhausted gases was changed with heating value of fuel and feeding rate. Finally, the stable operating condition by analyzing results was proposed.

  • The dynamics of a water-steam system in a once-through boiler was simulated based on the physics-based modeling approach, representing the system in response to large load change or scale disturbance simulations. The modeling considered the mass, energy conservation, and momentum equation in the water pipe and the focus was limited to the sub-critical pressure region. An evaporator tube modeling was validated against the reference data. A simplified boiler system consisting of economizer, evaporator, and superheater was constructed to match a 500 MW power boiler. The dynamic response of the system following a disturbance was discussed along with the quantitative response characteristics. The dynamic response of the boiler system was further evaluated by checking the case of an off-design point operation of the feedwater-to-fuel supply ratio. The results re-emphasized the significance of controlling the feedwater-to-fuel supply ratio and additional design requirements of the water-steam separator and spray attemperator.

A Study on Effect of Recirculated Exhaust Gas upon Performance and Exhaust Emissions in a Power Plant Boiler with FGR System (FGR 시스템 동력 플랜트 보일러의 성능 및 배기 배출물에 미치는 재순환 배기의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The effect of recirculated exhaust gas on performance and exhaust emissions with FGR rate are investigated by using a natural circulation, pressurized draft and water tube boiler with FGR system operating at several boiler loads and over fire air damper openings. The purpose of this study is to apply the FGR system to a power plant boiler for reducing $NO_x$ emissions. To activate the combustion, the OFA with 0 to 20% is supplied into the flame. When the suction damper of two stage combustion system installed in the upper side of wind box is opened by handling the lever between $0^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$, also, the combustion air supplied to burner is changed. It is found that the fuel consumption rate per evaporation rate did not show an obvious tendency to increase or decrease with rising the FGR rate, and $NO_x$ emissions at the same OFA damper opening are decreased, as FGR rates are elevated and boiler loads are dropped. While a trace amount of soot is emitted without regard to the operation conditions of boiler load, OFA damper opening and FGR rate, because soot emissions are eliminated by the electrostatic precipitator with a collecting efficiency of 86.7%.

  • Boiler is one of the most important utilities providing steam to turbine in order to supply mechanical energy in thermal power plant. It is composed of thousands of tubes for high efficient heat transfer. Water is converted to steam inside the waterwall tubes. Many chemical components dissolved in boiler water come out of itself, deposit to the tube wall surface, prohibit heat transer, raise tube metal temperature, eventually fail the boiler tubes. Several tasks such as fracture surface study, tensile test, hardness test, metallurgical test, composition analysis of sticking elements were conducted to identify the root cause of tube failure.

지역냉난방 시스템

  • 지역난방은 한 곳에 집중된 대규모 열원시설에서 경제적으로 생산된 열을 일정한 지역내 아파트, 빌딩, 공공 시설 등에 난방 및 냉방용으로 공급하는 도시 기반시설이다. 또한 지역난방은 개별난방이나 중앙난방의 간헐 난방방식과는 달리 24 시간 연속난방을 하므로써 건강하고 쾌적한 실내온도를 유지시켜 주며, 노후된 보일러 교체비 및 유지 보수가 들지 않고, 난방순환펌프 등 각종 부대시설의 축소로 동력비를 절감할 수 있으며 기존 보일러실을 주민복지 공간으로 활용할 수 있고, 연료탱크와 보조난방기구 등이 필요 없어 재해 발생의 우려가 없다. 본지에서는 한국지역난방공사에서 제공한 자료와 월간 설비기술에 게재된 내용을 요약 정리하여 게재한다.
