The purpose of this study is experimentally to analyze that intake port swirl, injection system and turbocharger have an effect on the engine performance and the emission characteristics in a V8 type turbocharged intercooler D.I. diesel engine of the displacement 16.7ι, and to suggest the improvement of engine performance. Generally to enhance engine power, TCI diesel engine is put to practically use turbo-charged intercoler in order to increase boost efficiency which is cooled boost air. As results of considering the factors of the intake port of swirl ratio 2.25, compression ratio 17.5, re-entrant 8.5$^{\circ}$ combustion bowl, nozzle hole diameter ${\Phi}$0.33*3+${\Phi}$0.35*2, nozzle protrusion 3.18mm, injection timing BTDC 12$^{\circ}$CA and turbo charger (compressor 0.6A/R+46Trim, turbine 1.0A/R+57Trim) is the best in the full range of operating in the engine performance and the exhaust characteristics of NO$\_$x/ concentration. Therefore their factors are appropriated as intake system, injection and turbocharger system.

This paper presents a multiple face detector based on a robust pupil detection technique. The pupil detector uses active illumination that exploits the retro-reflectivity property of eyes to facilitate detection. The detection range of this method is appropriate for interactive desktop and kiosk applications. Once the location of the pupil candidates are computed, the candidates are filtered and grouped into pairs that correspond to faces using heuristic rules. To demonstrate the robustness of the face detection technique, a dual mode face tracker was developed, which is initialized with the most salient detected face. Recursive estimators are used to guarantee the stability of the process and combine the measurements from the multi-face detector and a feature correlation tracker. The estimated position of the face is used to control a pan-tilt servo mechanism in real-time, that moves the camera to keep the tracked face always centered in the image.
In 2003 to 2005, the root rot of Japanese angelica (Aralia elata) was surveyed in nursery beds of Korea, where incidence of the disease often reached up to 100%. Three isolates were obtained from the infected roots, and identified as Phytophthora cactorum on the basis of cultural, morphological characteristics and molecular analysis. The isolates were characterized by having markedly papillate and broadly ovoid deciduous sporangia. The optimum temperature for mycelium growth was at $25^{\circ}C$ on V8 juice agar. Pathogenicity of the isolates was confirmed by soil mixture inoculation. Approximately 900 bp of ITS rDNA was amplified from all 3 isolates and band pattern of restriction fragments observed by Alu I, Msp I, and Taq I digestion also supported the result of the morphological identification when compared with PhytID database.

Existing tube for concrete filled tubular structure is made through welding of four plates irrespective of tube thickness, so production performance is poor and special welding technique is needed to weld the internal diaphragm and through the diaphragm. Therefore, through manufacturing by cold forming development of beam to column connections that is no welding in position of stress concentration is needed. In this study the proposal of beam to column connections details and to making tube specimens by method of bending steel plates, we want to know the compositeeffect between internal anchor and concrete by processing on stress distribution and internal force evaluation of concrete filled tube beam to column connections with a variable of flange welding existence between column and beam, welding quantity between column and diaphragm, existence of concrete in tube, column with diaphragm and general column.
A 12-year-old, female mixed breed dog presented with a vaginal mass protruding outside the vulva. The patient was non-gravid, with normal defecation and urination. Serum chemistry revealed azotemia and increased alkaline phosphatase. Hematology findings were normal. Blood electrolytes showed mild hypernatremia. Ultrasonography demonstrated severely enlarged uterine horns, a uterine body with anechoic to hypoechoic fluids, and a focal hypoechoic area within the mass of the right uterine tube. On computed tomography, metastasis was not confirmed. Other computed tomography findings suggested a right ovarian cyst, an enlarged, fluid-filled uterus, and an enlarged vagina with a mass. Ovariohysterectomy, episiotomy, and vaginectomy were performed. The case was diagnosed as uterine tube adenocarcinoma, vaginal fibroma, and pyometra. This case is the first reported concurrent occurrence in dogs.
Leiomyoma is benign neoplasm of smooth muscle, but it is rare in the oral cavity. The most common type of leiomyoma in the oral cavity is vascular leiomyoma. Clinically, vascular leiomyoma usually grows slowly and is generally a small, painless, sessile, firm and superficial nodule like lesion, and the length of time before patients seek medical attention may span months to years. The diagnosis of oral leiomyoma is possible with only histological studies with special stains because there are no specific clinical and radiological signs. We experienced a 53-year-old woman with palatal mass. She underwent surgical excision and the final pathological result confirmed it to be vascular leiomyoma. We report this case with a review of the related literatures.
Three-dimensional natural convective heat transfer in a vertical channel with a protruding single module was investigated experimentally. The particular interest was in the removal of thermal energy from the module by convective heat transfer. Hence radiative and conductive heat losses were estimated by using thermocouples and heat flux sensor respectively. The flow fields in the channel were visualized by means of a smoke-method. Also, local temperatures were measured by thermocouples inside the channel, along the vertical wall and module surface. It is found that convective heat transfer was promoted at the lower comer of the module and was decreased at the upper comer due to a recirculation zone. A general correlation of the critical channel ratios was found as a function of Rayleigh number. For the range of $8.28{\times}10^3<Ra^*_c<3.48{\times}10^6$, a useful correlation for the mean Nusselt number was proposed as a function of modified channel Rayleigh number.

The present study hypothesized that the double keyhole looped archwire plays a positive role for the sake of translatory movement and/or controlled tipping of upper 6 anteriors, and secures anchorage control as well. The purposes of the study were to evaluate the changes in lateral cephalograms during orthodontic treatment with DKHLs and to compare the skeletal & dental changes before- & after-treatment. The materials of this study were lateral cephalograms of 20 adult patients with upper dentoalveolar protrusion both in class I and in class II Division1 malocclusion. Lateral cephalograms were taken before and after orthodontic treatment with upper 1st bicuspid extraction and DKHLs. The results were obtained as follows : 1. There were no statistically significant differences in skeletal measurement except SNB and PTFH between before- & after-treatment. The major changes were in dentoalveolar region. 2. After treatment, there were statistically significant decrease in dental measurement except interincisal angle. 3. Both upper & lower lip protrusion was decreased. 4. There were statistically differences in upper anterior crown horizontal & root vertical dimension(7.08 ${\pm}$ 2.14 mm, 2.38 ${\pm}$ 1.15 mm, p<0.01). 5. There were statistically differences in upper posterior dental(both crown & root) horizontal dimension(2.48 ${\pm}$ 0.99 mm, 2.05 ${\pm}$ 0.91 mm, p<0.01).
The binding mode of anthryl derivatives to synthetic polynucleotides were investigated by various spectroscopic methods. The spectroscopic properties of anthracence with metbylamine and methylethylenediamine side chains, complexed with $poly[d(A-T)_2]$ and $poly[d(G-C)_2]$, can be summarized as a red-shift, with a strong hypochromism in the absortion spectrum, similar induced CD spectra, and a strong negative LD spectrum with an $LD^r$ magnitude comparable to the DNA absorption region. These observations indicate that anthracene moiety is intercalated between the nucleo-bases of $poly[d(A-T)_2]$ and $poly[d(G-C)_2]$. The side chains did not alter the spectroscopic properties, demonstrating that the binding mode was not affected by them. A strong energy transfer was observed from poly[d(A-T),] and $poly[d(I-C)_2]$ but not from $poly[d(G-C)_2]$, as reported by Kumar et al. (J. Am. Chem. Soc.(1993) 115, 8547). Since the binding mode is the same for all the polynucleotides, the amine group of the guanine base, which protrudes into the minor groove of $poly[d(G-C)_2]$, is concluded to disrupt the energy transfer.
