학술세미나 - 제61회 출판포럼 - 2012년 '독서의 해' 맞아 출판계 과제 논의

  • 대한출판문화협회(회장 윤형두)와 한국출판연구소(이사장 김종수)는 구랍 8일 제61회 출판포럼을 개최했다. 이번 포럼은 2012년을 '독서의 해'로 선포한데 따라 이에 걸맞는 준비를 하고자 하는 취지로 준비 되었으며 이날 사회를 맡은 한국출판연구소 김종수 이사장은 "범사회적으로 책 읽는 분위기가 뿌리내리도록 하고 독서문화의 외연을 넓히는 소중한 기회로 삼아야 할 것"이며 "지난 1993년 '책의 해'를 통해 처음으로 출판포럼이 시작한 이래 횟수로는 61회째를 맞이한 만큼 출판계가 다시 한 번 심기일전하여 출판의 텃밭을 일구어 나가야 할 것"이라고 말했다. 이날 행사는 '독서문화 진흥을 위한 출판계의 과제'를 주제로 한윤옥 교수(경기대 문헌정보학과)가 주제발표를 했으며 이어진 토론 시간에는 대한출판문화협회 박익순 사무국장이 '독서의 해와 출판계의 과제', 한국출판인회의 김종길 독서진흥위원장이 '2012 독서의 해에 바란다', 책 읽는 사회 만들기 국민운동 안찬수 사무처장이 '독서의 해 추진과 출판계의 대응을 위한 제언', 문화체육관광부 도서관정책과 하재열 사무관이 '도서관과독서, 창의와 상상력 발전소'를 주제로 각각 발표와 토론을 진행했다. 이날 주제발표를 요약, 정리한다.

A Study on the Implementation Strategy for the National Year of Reading in Korea (국민독서 증진을 위한 방안 연구 - 국민독서의 해를 중심으로 -)

  • Recognizing the need for the nation-wide reading initiative to promote reading activities of the whole nation, this study was conducted to provide the foundation for planning the National Year of Reading in Korea. It reviewed the details on the administration, budget, cooperation, promotion, program and implementation strategy of the National Year of Reading in the U. K., Japan, and Australia. To investigate the nation's perception of reading and the nation-wide reading initiative, a focus group interview with 13 professionals in reading and a survey partaken by 719 citizens were conducted. This study provides the foundation for establishing the implementation strategy for the National Year of Reading by examining people's perception and the specific requirements for implementing the initiative.

  • 겨울방학을 맞은 어린이들을 책 앞으로 불러들이는 독서프로그램이 캠프, 독서여행 등 다양하게 열렸다. 하지만 몇몇 프로그램은 참가인원 부족으로 취소되기도 해 어린이 독서에 대한 관심 정도를 단적으로 드러내기도 했다.

A Survey on the Reading Education for Policy Development in Jeollabukdo, Korea (독서교육 정책수립을 위한 전라북도교육청 독서교육 담당교사의 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This survey is performed to propose the direction of policy development on reading education for Jeollabukdo Office of Education. To do this, this survey asked 239 teachers who are in charge of each school's reading education. The questionnaire is designed to investigate the effectiveness of current support projects from Jeollabukdo Office of Education, current level of schools' reading education and priorities of policy development. The findings of this survey are as follows: The teachers are contented with current support projects. Each school provides an average of 4 reading programs per year. Elementary schools' level of reading education is higher than middle and high schools' level. And more employment of full time reading experts as teacher librarian and the improvement of school libraries are revealed to be more important priorities on the policy development of reading education. Based on these findings, this study proposed maintenance of current support projects, improvement of school libraries, development of specialized policies for elementary schools, enhancement of reading teachers' expertise and preparation of information sharing system as the direction of policy development.

A Study on the Public Reading Campaign: The Case of 'One Book, SeongBuk' Campaign in Seongbuk-Gu, Seoul (대중독서운동에 관한 연구 - 서울시 성북구의 '원 북, 성북' 독서운동을 중심으로 -)

  • A public reading campaign is a sociocultural movement that can stimulate a sense of community. The 'One Book, One City' reading campaign, as a typical public reading campaign, was established as a new reading paradigm by sharing cultural experiences among community residents through discussions after reading 'one book,' thus evoking a sense of community. This study focuses on the 'One Book, SeongBuk' reading campaign in Seongbuk-Gu, Seoul, which was awarded the title of '2012 Year of Reading' program. In line with this, this study examines the theoretical background of the public reading campaign, looks into the background and contents of the 'One Book, SeongBuk' reading campaign in Seongbuk-Gu, and analyzes and pinpoints the factors that influence the campaign. By so doing, this study aims at enhancing our understanding of the public reading campaign.

A Study on Event Revitalization for Reading Education in School Libraries (독서교육을 위한 학교도서관의 행사 활성화 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the events which school libraries have practiced for reading education and to do the suggestions on the revitalization of events which are related to the reading education. The results of this study is like following; 1) Teacher-librarians should be employed to school libraries. 2) School libraries ought to make a plan for the events which are related to the reading and libraries and practice it. 3) School libraries have to inform the news according to reading education events through the webpage of school libraries. 4) The budget for reading education should be obtained. 5) The administrative assistance is needed for the reading education events. 6) Teacher-librarian should make the plans for reading education based on the social memorials.
