Effects of 16-week Combined Exercise on Dementia, Depression, and Cognitive Function in Elderly Women (16주간의 복합운동이 고령여성의 치매관련인자, 우울감 및 인지기능에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of combined exercise on dementia, depression, and cognitive function in elderly women. This study subject were 28 elderly female volunteers, aged 76-83 years and they divided into the exercise group(n=14) and control group(n=14). The combined exercise included the elastic band exercise and aquarobics performed 3 times per week for 90 minutes during 16 weeks. The exercise intensity was set at RPE 10-11 for 1 week to 4 weeks, RPE 11-14 for 5 weeks to 16 weeks, respectively. The test data were analyzed by two-way repeated measures ANOVA, paired t-test, and independent t-test. The alpha level of .05 was set for all tests of significance. The findings of this study were as follows; ${\beta}-amyloid$ and depression were significantly decreased and DHEAs and cognitive function were significantly increased than control group. In conclusion, regular and continuous combined exercise was effective for improving dementia and had a positive effect on depression and cognitive function in elderly women.

Effects of Gender Difference on English Learning with Technology (성별의 차이가 테크놀로지를 이용한 영어 학습에 미치는 영향)

  • The focus of this study is on the new instructional and pedagogical application of teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) with technology and by gender. Participants comprised 204 TEFL students in Korea. The study was conducted in the 2017 academic year. For this study, all participants attended English class using technology for three hours a week. Course syllabus, lecture notes, and other study materials were uploaded to the school website. Homework assignments, quizzes, and exams were also distributed through the website. To ascertain whether there are any differential effects from gender on learning English as a foreign language using technology, the quantitative materials included pre- and post-tests. This study also adopted qualitative methods, with structured interviews to obtain participants' comprehensive view of technology-assisted English lessons. Paired sample t-tests and independent t-tests were administered to analyze the quantitative data. The qualitative data were analyzed with the content analysis method. Findings show that both male and female students improved their English-speaking skills using technology. However, no gender difference was found in technology-assisted TEFL. Technology use for learning English also resulted in both genders' positive perceptions of language lessons. Based on these findings, this study yields practical implications for TEFL teachers in Korea.

Effects of Training on Sit to Stand on Various Seat Heights on the Balance in Stroke Patients (다양한 좌석 높이에서 일어서기 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to compare the effects of sit-to-stand training, or training to stand up from sitting positions at various seat heights, on the balance recovery among stroke patients. This study included 20 stroke patients who were randomly divided into two groups. Each group was trained for six weeks, three times a week from March to June 2019. Static balance and dynamic balance were measured, and the variations were analyzed using the paired t-test and the independent t-test. There were significant changes observed in both static and dynamic balance (p<.05) before and after training. However, no significant changes were seen in the static balance in the standing posture with eyes closed (p>.05). This study confirmed that there was a significant effect of training on the balance of stroke patients, especially when progressively lower seat heights were used during the training. This suggests new directions for treatment during rehabilitation for balance recovery of stroke patients. Further studies will need to apply this training to a larger number of subjects, and use various training methods such as randomization of seat height to enable the generalization of the results of this study and application in clinical practice.

Periimplant bone change after alveolar ridge preservation: radiographic retrospective study (발치와 치조제 보존술 후 식립한 임플란트 주위 골 변화: 후향적 방사선학적 분석)

  • Purpose. The aim of this study is to evaluate bone change around the implant in patients who underwent alveolar ridge preservation for implantation in the posterior teeth using radiographic data measuring changes of mesial, distal crestal bone level according to post-implantation, post-final prosthesis delivery and follow-up periods. Materials and methods. In total, 36 implants were placed in 32 patients. The mesial and distal crestal bone level of all the areas where alveolar ridge preservation was performed uses panoramic images taken post-implantation, post-final prosthesis delivery, and follow-up period each was measured and evaluated as a vertical value. The following factors were analyzed: associations between changes of crestal bone level and factors (e.g., age, sex, systemic diseases, dentist, implant location, tooth, bone type, membrane). The statistical analysis was performed using the mean, standard deviation and independent t-test, paired t-test (P < .05). Results. Analysis of crestal bone level differences between periods shows statistically significant differences (P < .05). There was no statistically significant difference when the changes of crestal bone level between post-implantation, post-final prosthesis delivery and follow-up periods were correlated with each factors. Conclusion. After alveolar ridge preservation, bone around the implant remained stable during the maintenance period without being affected by the patient and surgical factors, and alveolar ridge preservation is considered a clinically usable procedure.

The Effect of Whole-Body Vibration Exercise for Life Care on Balance and Walking Ability in the Stroke Patient with Risk of Fall (라이프케어 증진을 위한 전신진동운동이 낙상위험 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 및 보행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of whole-body vibration exercise for life care on balance and walking ability in the fall risk stroke patients. 30 stroke patients were divided into two groups, Otago exercise group(n=15) and whole-body vibration exercise group(n=15). Walking ability were measured by 10m walking and Tinetti mobility test with stroke patients and balance ability were measured by BBS and TUG on comparative analysis of pre, post exercise. To compare differences before and after the program, a paired t-test was used and to compare differences between both groups, an independent samples t-test was used. As a result of the test, it was discovered that BBS and Tinetti mobility test of the both groups were increased statistically significantly and TUG and 10m walking test of the both groups were decreased statistically significantly. balance ability and walking ability of the whole-body vibration exercise group were improved statistically significantly in comparison with those of the Otago exercise group. The results of this study showed that whole-body vibration exercise for the improvement of life care had significant effects on improving BBS, TUG, 10m walking and Tinetti mobility test of fall risk stroke patients. Therefore, it is recommended to apply whole-body vibration exercise to improve life-care through improving balance ability and walking ability of fall risk stroke patients.

The Analysis on the Relationship between Elections and Wild Fires in Korea From 1991 to 2023 (최근 30 년간 우리나라 선거와 산불 발생의 상관관계 분석)

  • Purpose: This study analyze the correlation between elections and wild Fire to provide information necessary for formulating wild fire prevention and response policies. Method: Data of the Forest Service and the Meteorological Administration were used to compare the occurrence and burned area of wild fires in election and non-election years. Statistical significance between the two groups was analyzed with an independent sample t-test, and MANOVA(multivariate analysis of variance) was used to evaluate the effects of temperature and humidity. Result: There was no statistical significance in the occurrence and burn area of wild fires between election and non-election years. However, analysis of the raw data indicated significantly greater damage in election years. MANOVA revealed that election status, temperature, and humidity did not significantly impact the occurrence and burn area of large wild fires. Conclusion: Wild fire occurrence and burned area were higher election years than non-election years, possibly due to election-related social factors. Thus, enhancing wild fire prevention and response policies in election years and considering weather factors and social activites is necessary.

A Convergence Study on the Effects of Writing Reflection Journal with Teaching Feedback on Learning Motivation, Learning Attitude, and Academic Self-Efficacy of Nursing Students (교수피드백을 적용한 성찰일지 작성이 간호대학생의 학습동기, 학습태도 및 학업적 자기효능감에 미치는 효과에 대한 융합 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the effects of nursing students' learning motivation, learning attitude and academic self-efficacy on their application of reflective journal with teaching feedback. For this retrospective comparative study data from 190 undergraduate students in the health assessment skills course from 2018 to 2019. The collected data were analyzed by chi-square test, independent t-test, Ancova. After writing reflection journal with teaching feedback showed significant difference in learning motivation(t=2.10, p=.037) and learning attitude (t= 4.54, p=.034) compared to writing reflection journal without teaching feedback. However, no significant difference was found between reflection journal with teaching feedback and reflection journal without teaching feedback. These results suggest writing reflection with teaching feedback is an effective strategy for improving learning motivation and learning attitude.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of Interdisciplinary course for improving the competency of collegiate Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills, Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication. The course proved to be effective based on the result for examination of difference between the experimental group of 43 students who took the interdisciplinary course and the control group of 44 students who did not take that course of the second semester of H university in 2015. The study applied the method of Paired-sample T-Test to investigate the difference of Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills, Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication and their sub-skills between the two participant groups. As a result, Interdisciplinary course had an effect on improvement of Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills and it's sub skills; however, it had no effect on improvement of Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication competency and their sub-skills. The results provide theoretical and practical implications for the interdisciplinary course and core competence of college students. They suggest that interdisciplinary course design should be more careful to improve students' competency on Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication competency than before.

유치원 교사의 직무스트레스에 따른 심리적 소진의 관계에서 자기자비와 마음챙김의 조절효과

  • 현대 사회가 급변하면서 가족 구조와 형태가 다양해지고, 여성의 경제 활동과 맞벌이 부부가 증가함에 따라 영유아 대상 돌봄에 대한 요구는 다양하게 변화하고 있다. 그러나 보육기관 증설 및 운영 시간 연장 등으로 보육의 공공성을 강화해 나가는 것에 반해, 유아 교육기관의 질과 영유아 상호작용에 큰 영향을 미치는 유치원 교사의 근무 여건 개선은 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 유치원 교사는 영유아의 성장과 발달에 결정적이고, 무조건적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 교육의 질을 결정하는 가장 중요한 요인이라 할 수 있다. 그럼에도 긴 근무 시간, 저임금, 학부모의 지나친 요구, 부진한 복지제도 등의 열악한 근무환경에서 직무스트레스와 그에 따른 심리적 소진을 경험하고 있다 본 연구에서는 유치원 교사가 지각하는 직무스트레스와 심리적 소진의 관계에서 자기자비와 마음챙김의 조절 효과를 규명하여 유치원 교사들이 흔히 겪을 수 있는 일반적인 어려움을 예상해보고 그 요인을 찾아 분석함으로서 유치원 교사의 스트레스를 예방하거나 감소시키기 위한 지원 방안 및 유치원 교사를 위한 교육프로그램 개발의 기초 자료로 활용되는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기도 내 유치원에 근무하는 교사 200명을 대상으로 직무스트레스척도(MTOSFQ), 심치적 소진척도(MBI), 자기자비척도(K-SCS), 마음챙김척도(FFMQ)를 사용하여 설문을 실시한 후 SPSS v22, 독립표본 t검정, 일원배치 분산분석, 선형회귀분석과 매개효과 검증을 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하고자 한다.

Application of Programming based TPACK Education Program to Increase TPACK of Pre-service Teachers

  • This study verified the effects that a programming-based TPACK education program, through design-based research on TPACK, had on pre-service teachers. The research subjects were pre-service teachers attending teacher training at a university in Korea, and 129 control groups and 126 experimental groups were recruited through lectures. The treatment used a TPACK educational program developed in a design-based study (Kim & Lee, 2019). A TPACK test tool developed by Park and Kang (2014) was used. The test results were analyzed via independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The results show that the programming-based TPACK education program (first cycle) was only effective in improving TPK and TPACK, but an effective educational program was developed to improve PCK, TCK, TK (second cycle), PK (third cycle), and CK (final cycle). This design-based research therefore confirmed the development of a programming-based TPACK education program that was effective for improving the TPACK of pre-service teachers.
