Comparative Research on Teaching Method for Multiplication by 2-Digit Numbers in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks of Korea, Japan, Singapore, and USA (한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국의 초등교과서에 제시된 곱하는 수가 두 자리 수인 자연수 곱셈 지도 내용의 비교 분석)

  • In this study, we investigated how multiplication by 2-digit numbers had been taught in elementary mathematics textbooks of Korea, Japan, Singapore, and USA. As a result of analysis, we found as follows. Korean textbooks do not teach the multiplication by 10 and the multiplication by power of 10, but Japanese, Singapore, and US textbooks explicitly teach related content. In the '×tens' teaching, Japanese and American textbooks teach formally the law of association of multiplication applied in the process of calculating the partial product of multiplication. The standard multiplication algorithm generally followed a standard method of recording partial product result according to the law of distribution, but the differences were confirmed in the multiplication model, the teaching method of the law of distribution, and the notation of the last digit '0'. Based upon these results, we suggested some proposals for improving the multiplication teaching.

The Semantic Structure and Grammaticalization of the French Preposition de (프랑스어 전치사 de의 의미 구조와 문법화)

  • This study is about the French preposition de. This preposition is considered to have no meaning in the French language, and to have only the grammatical function in its use. This study begins with doubts about such views regarding this preposition. We organize and classify general descriptions of the uses of this preposition. The uses are classified as 'expressing starting point,' 'giving characteristics' and 'performing grammatical functions' and this data is analyzed in terms of the associated cognitive grammar. In the case of expressing the starting point, it is assumed that the trajector moves from the starting point, to the destination point, in the domain of space and in the domain of time. Therefore, it is noted in this case that the preposition de has a dynamic concept. On the other hand, it is significant to understand that the preposition of the 'giving characteristics' defines an outline of a particular class by giving the class's characteristics. The preposition de has a static concept in this case. For the preposition de which introduces the infinitive, all of these dynamic and static concepts are faded and extremely grammaticalized.

A Study on Employment Path of Vocational Instructors Using Sequential Analysis (순차분석을 활용한 직업능력개발훈련교사의 입직경로 분석)

  • This study aims to identify the employment path of vocational instructors using sequential analysis. By grasping the employment path in detail, the study presents implications for implementing support measures for systematic preparation for employment. In particular, the study presents the relationship of the vocational instructor's employment path in stages through frequency analysis, conversion probability analysis, significance test, and conversion status diagram of each employment path. For the analysis, the survey results of the vocational instructors working at private vocational training institutions were used. In conclusion, (i) as for the frequency of past experience for employment as a vocational instructor, the share of work experience, teaching training, and teaching experience was large. (ii) In the employment path stage, work experience, teaching training, and teaching experience had the greatest influence on the transition to the later stage. (iii) The prominent employment path for vocational instructors was "work experience-teaching experience-teaching training." Based on the conclusions, the study proposes a plan for systematic employment of vocational instructors.

A Method of Plotting Component A Scaled Waveform for Aircraft Lightning Test (항공기 낙뢰 시험을 위한 Component A 축소 파형 도식화 방법)

  • Lightning can deliver large amounts of energy to the aircraft in a short period of time, resulting in catastrophic consequence. In particular, lightning strikes accompanied by high temperature heat and current can damage aircraft surface and internal electronic equipment, seriously affecting flight safety. Lightning experiments to analyze this effect use a Component A waveform with a maximum current of 200 kA as specified in SAE ARP 5412B. However, the actual lightning occurs mostly below 35kA and lightning indirect tests are conducted by reducing waveforms to prevent damage to internal electronic equipment. In this study, we examine previous methods to plot the Component A reduced waveform and identify their limitations. We then propose a new method to plot the reduced waveform based on adjusting the correction factor of the aircraft lightning Component A waveform. Finally, the electromagnetic analysis software EMA3D was used to compare the internal induced current size reduction ratio of the internal cable harness of the EC-155B helicopter.

Study on Adsorption Characteristics of Erythrosine Dye from Aqeous Solution Using Activated Carbon (활성탄에 의한 에리스로신 염료수용액의 흡착특성에 관한 연구)

  • Adsorption characteristics of erythrosine dye onto the activated carbon has been investigated in a batch system with respect to initial concentration, contact time and temperature. Kinetic studies of the adsorption of erythrosine were carried out at 298 K, using aqueous solutions with 100, 250 and 500 mg/L concentration of erythrosine. The adsorption process followed a pseuo second order model, and the adsorption rate constant (k2) decreased with increasing the initial concentration of erythrosine. The equilibrium process can be well discribed by Freundlich isotherm in the temperature range from 298 to 318 K. Free energy of adsorption (${\Delta}G^o$), enthalpy (${\Delta}H^o$), and entropy (${\Delta}S^o$) change were calculated to predict the nature the adsorption. The estimated values for ${\Delta}G^o$ were -3.72~-9.62 kJ/mol over the activated carbon at 250 mg/L, indicated toward a spontaneous process. The positve value for ${\Delta}H^o$ indicates that the adsorption of erythrosine dye on activated carbon is an endothermic process.

An Analysis of the Word Problem in Elementary Mathematics Textbook from a Practical Contextual Perspective (초등 수학 교과서의 문장제에 대한 실제적 맥락 관점에서의 분석)

  • Word problems can lead learners to more meaningfully learn mathematics by providing learners with various problem-solving experiences and guiding them to apply mathematical knowledge to the context. This study attempted to provide implications for the textbook writing and teaching and learning process by examining the word problem of elementary mathematics textbooks from the perspective of practical context. The word problem of elementary mathematics textbooks was examined, and elementary mathematics textbooks in the United States and Finland were referenced to find specific alternatives. As a result, when setting an unnatural context or subject to the word problem in elementary mathematics textbooks, artificial numbers were inserted or verbal expressions and illustrations were presented unclearly. In this case, it may be difficult for learners to recognize the context of the word problem as separate from real life or to solve the problem by understanding the content required by the word problem. In the future, it is necessary to organize various types of word problems in practical contexts, such as setting up situations in consideration of learners in textbooks, actively using illustrations and diagrams, and organizing verbal expressions and illustrations more clearly.

  • 상수도관은 사용년수가 경과함에 따라 노후화가 진행되며, 노후화된 상수관은 내부적으로 부식, 이물질 퇴적, 균열 등의 현상이 발생하게 되고, 이는 결국 수질문제로 연결되어, 탁수사고 발생 확률증가의 주요 원인이 되고 있다. 국내 상수도관의 경우 매설년수의 증가로 인해 내구연한이 도래한 상수관망의 비중이 점차 증가하고 있으며, 2019년 서울시 문래동 수질사고, 2019년 인천 붉은 수돗물 사고, 2022년 안양 동안구 탁수사고, 2022년 여수시 웅천 탁수사고 등 관의 노후화로인한 탁수 사고가 빈번하게 발생되고 있어 수도 사용자에게 불편함을 끼치고 있다. 현재 정수장 및 상수관망에 설치된 탁도계를 통해 수질에 대한 감시를 진행하고 있지만, 경제적인 문제로 인해 모든 상수도관에 탁도계를 설치하기에는 현실적으로 불가능하며, 제한적인 탁도계의 개수를 통해 수질에 대한 감시 및 관리를 진행하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 상황으로 인해 탁수사고 발생 시 발생 원인분석 및 최초 발생위치 결정이 쉽지 않으며, 보수 보강을 통한 상수도관의 정상화까지 오랜 시간이 걸리게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 상수관망에서 탁수 발생 시 최초 발생 위치를 결정할 수 있는 기법을 개발하였으며, 이를 실제 상수도관망에 적용하여 탁수발생 파이프를 탐지하였다. 탁수사고 발생 시 실측된 수질 데이터의 부족으로 인해 임의의 파이프에서 탁수가 발생하였다고 가상의 탁수 발생시나리오를 가정하였으며, 완전혼합농도식을 통해 관망에 설치된 탁도계의 NTU(Nethelometric Paultity Unit) 농도를 계산하여 가상의 탁수발생 시나리오를 상수도관망에 적용하였다. 이후, 역추적 계산기법을 통해 파이프의 초기 NTU 농도를 변화시켜주며 관망내 설치된 탁도계의 NTU 농도를 계산하였으며, 가상 시나리오를 적용하여 계산된 탁도계의 NTU 농도와 역추적 계산법을 적용하여 계산된 탁도계의 NTU 농도의 Percentage Error를 비교/분석하여 탁수 발생 파이프를 탐지하였다. 분석결과, 가상 시나리오의 최초 탁수발생 파이프와 역추적 계산법을 적용하여 탐지한 최초 탁수발생 파이프의 위치가 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발된 역추적계산을 통한 탁수발생 파이프 탐지기법을 실제 관로 교체사업에 활용한다면 파이프의 개선 우선순위를 보다 명확하게 판단할 수 있으며, 더 나아가 상수도 관망의 유지관리에 활용하여 경제적이고 효율적인 상수관망 시스템관리를 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Development of a design width for the small streams (소하천 계획하폭 산정식 개발)

  • 계획하폭의 수리설계는 수문분석에 의하여 결정되는 설계홍수량을 주변지역 주택이나 농지 침수를 방지하지 않도록 하도내에서 수위를 과다하게 상승시키지 않은 상태에서 안전하게 하류로 소통시킬 수 있는 가장 경제적인 하도의 폭을 결정하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 현재 소하천 하폭의 수리설계는 지형 또는 현장 여건에 따라 계획홍수량을 결정하고, 경험식에 의한 방법 또는 도식에 의한 방법(방정식과 수리학 공식에 의한 방법)등을 이용하여 하류수위를 산정함으로써 이루어진다. 그러나 하도내 흐름이 자유수면을 가지는 개수로 흐름인 경우 도표 또는 간략화된 경험식을 이용해서는 정확한 하폭을 산정할 수 없다. 기존에 개발된 계획하폭 경험식은 홍수량에 기반한 단일 회귀식과 다양한 하천특성과 흐름특성을 이용한 다중 회귀식으로 구분된다. 그러나 현재 계획하폭 결정에 가장 많이 사용되는 경험식은 홍수량을 이용한 단일 회귀식인데, 이들은 자료수집의 어려움 때문에 지역과 하천특성을 고려하지 않고 모든 하천에 적용 가능하도록 개발되어 적용 시 세심한 주의가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 경험식을 보완함으로써 적용성을 제고하기 위하여 전국 소하천을 지역에 따라 세분화하고 흐름특성과 하천특성 자료를 수집하였다. 이렇게 수집된 자료를 위치에 따라 세분화하고 기존에 개발된 경험식과 동일한 형태로 계획하폭 경험식을 개발하였다. 개발된 경험식을 검증하는 방법은 자료를 두 개의 그룹으로 분리하고 개발에 사용되지 않은 자료 그룹을 사용함으로써 검증의 신뢰성을 확보하였다. 더불어 기존의 경험식과 비교하는 방법으로 개발된 회귀식의 적용성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 계획하폭 경험식은 지역특성과 흐름특성을 고려한 계획하폭 산정에 활용이 가능함으로써 홍수에 안전한 소하천 수리설계에 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

A Systematic Literature Review on Teaching Mathematical Word Problems for Elementary School Students with Disabilities (초등학교 장애학생 수학 문장제 문제 국내 연구 동향 및 질적지표에 의한 분석: 단일대상연구를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to synthesize intervention studies, which utilized single case experimental design, on teaching mathematical word problems for elementary school students with disabilities and evaluate each of their methodological rigor. The researchers reviewed all studies from 2000 to 2022 that involved teaching mathematical word problems to individuals with disabilities. A total of 12 studies was included for a final analysis. Most of the interventions were delivered by researchers for about 30-40 minutes per session to elementary school students with disabilities. Schema-based instruction, cognitive-metacognitive strategy, and technology-based instruction were used as intervention methods, and explicit instruction was mostly used in conjunction with them. On the other hand, the researchers found that none of research articles met quality indicators for single case experimental design according to Cook et al. (2015). Limitation and directions for future research were also discussed.

Crack Growth Life Prediction of Hollow Shaft with Circumferential Through Type Crack by Torsion (원주방향 관통형 균열을 가지는 중공축의 비틀림에 의한 균열성장수명 예측)

  • Power transmission shafts in rotary wing aircraft use a hollow shaft to reduce weight. We can apply linear elastic fracture mechanics to predict crack propagation behavior. This paper predicted crack growth life of a hollow shaft with a circumferential through-type crack by finite element analysis. A 2D finite element model was created by applying a torsion and forming elements considering cracks. We defined the initial crack length and performed the finite element analysis by increasing the crack length to derive stress intensity factor at crack tips. We defined the length just prior to the stress intensity factor exceeding the fracture toughness as the crack limit length. We calculated the crack limit length using a handbook and numerically integrated the crack growth rate equation to derive growth life of each crack. The growth life of each crack was compared to verify the proposed finite element analysis method.
