Effect of New Tunnelling on the Behaviour of Grouped Pile and Adjacent Tunnel (신설 터널굴착이 지중 군말뚝 및 인접 터널의 거동에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The demand for underground infrastructures such as tunnels is expanding due to rapid urbanization. Tunnels in urban areas are usually constructed adjacent to structures supported by piles. Therefore, a proper understanding of pile-tunnel interaction due to tunnel excavation activities is vital. Thus, in this study, a numerical analysis is conducted to analyze pile settlements, ground surface settlements and shear deformations above an existing tunnel subject to the presence of an adjacent tunnelling, with vertical offsets, the number of piles and the pile spacing considered as variables in the analysis. The results show that the vertical offsets between the tunnel crown and the pile tip generatelarger settlement than the pile spacing. In addition, the vertical offset shows an inversely proportional relationship to the shear deformation due to new tunnelling.

  • In this study, we developed AMI terminals of 1 (reader): N (small transmitter). Currently, the government is focusing on the Gas AMI demonstration project to advance the outdated metering system of the urban gas industry, led by the government-sponsored ministries. The supply of gas AMI meters has the advantage of resolving uncertainties in privacy violations and measurement information and preparing for consumer safety through gas leakage detection. In the case of existing AMI meters, readers and transmitters were 1:1 methods, while this technology can be extended to multiple generations with a 1:N method, and a technology that can extend battery life by implementing a low-power design is applied. We hope that this research will contribute to the gas AMI supply project in the future.

Experimental Study on the Failure Behavior of RC Octagonal Hollow Section Columns with Aspect Ratio of 4.0 and Longitudinal Steel Ratio of 2.36 ~ 4.71% (형상비 4.0이고 축방향철근비 2.36 ~ 4.71%인 팔각형 중공단면 철근콘크리트 기둥의 파괴거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to assess the seismic performance of octagonal hollow cross section reinforced concrete bridge pier, and to investigate the effect of longitudinal reinforcement ratios on the failure behavior. Four octagonal hollow section RC bridge columns of small scale model were tested under a quasi-static cyclically reversed horizontal load with constant axial load. The volumetric ratio of transverse spiral hoop of all specimens was maintained constant(0.206%), the ratios of longitudinal reinforcement were varied(2.36 ~ 4.71%). Failure behavior and seismic performance were investigated. Three specimens with the exception of lap spliced specimen showed flexure-shear failure at final stage. The test results with the exception of lap spliced specimen showed that the displacement ductility factor and accumulated energy dissipation decreased in inverse proportion to the ratio of longitudinal steel.

  • The importance and utilization of underground spatial is increasing due to urban concentration. And so underground spatial information is being built. Because underground spatial information is an important NSDI (National Spatial Data Infrastructure), the accuracy and performance of underground spatial exploration devices used for construction are managed separately. In accordance with the laws and regulations related to spatial information, the government is conducting performance tests for underground facilities surveying equipment. The current performance test site mainly targets metal pipelines, and there is no absolute position surveying inspection system. In this study, test bed model for performance inspection of underground space exploration equipment was presented. The test bed presented in this study can be used as a test site to supplement the limitations of the existing domestic test bed and to verify the performance of the latest equipment.

Application into Assessment of Liquefaction Hazard and Geotechnical Vulnerability During Earthquake with High-Precision Spatial-Ground Model for a City Development Area (도시개발 영역 고정밀 공간지반모델의 지진 시 액상화 재해 및 지반 취약성 평가 활용)

  • This study proposes a methodology for assessing seismic liquefaction hazard by implementing high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) ground models with high-density/high-precision site investigation data acquired in an area of interest, which would be linked to geotechnical numerical analysis tools. It is possible to estimate the vulnerability of earthquake-induced geotechnical phenomena (ground motion amplification, liquefaction, landslide, etc.) and their triggering complex disasters across an area for urban development with several stages of high-density datasets. In this study, the spatial-ground models for city development were built with a 3D high-precision grid of 5 m × 5 m × 1 m by applying geostatistic methods. Finally, after comparing each prediction error, the geotechnical model from the Gaussian sequential simulation is selected to assess earthquake-induced geotechnical hazards. In particular, with seven independent input earthquake motions, liquefaction analysis with finite element analyses and hazard mappings with LPI and LSN are performed reliably based on the spatial geotechnical models in the study area. Furthermore, various phenomena and parameters, including settlement in the city planning area, are assessed in terms of geotechnical vulnerability also based on the high-resolution spatial-ground modeling. This case study on the high-precision 3D ground model-based zonations in the area of interest verifies the usefulness in assessing spatially earthquake-induced hazards and geotechnical vulnerability and their decision-making support.

  • 유량은 도섭법, 보트법, 횡측선법, 교량법 및 부자법 등 다양한 방법으로 측정되는데, 이들 측정방법 모두 많은 수의 관측자를 필요로 한다. 이들은 하천에 직접 들어가서 측정하거나, 인공구조물인 교량과 재방에서 측정되는데, 도섭법, 보트법, 횡측선법이 전자이며, 고수위 및 고유속으로 하천에 들어가지 못하는 경우에는 교량법 및 부자법을 사용하여 유량을 측정한다. 최근 지구 온난화로 따른 이상 기후가 빈번히 발생하고 있으며, 이로 인한 많은 피해가 발생하고 있어, 하천 수위, 유속 모니터링에 대한 중요성이 더 커지고 있다. 2022년 1월부터 시행 중인 「중대재해처벌법」으로 집중호우 및 일몰 이후에는 안전상의 문제로 유량측정이 어려운 상황으로 필요한 시기에 유량 데이터를 확보에 제약이 있다. 이에 관측자 없이도 유량을 측정할 수 있는 방법을 이용하여 중대 재해의 위험성을 해소하고자 하였다. 유량측정 방법으로 설치 회수가 용이한 비접촉 방식에서 영상표면유속측정 방식과 레이더(전자파)표면 유속측정 방식 중, 집중호우 및 태풍 발생 중 가시성이 확보되지 않아도 측정이 가능한 레이더(전자파) 표면유속계를 이용한 다측점 유량측정 방법을 개발하였다. 비접촉 다측점 유량측정시스템 Master 1대에 8대의 Slave를 연결할 수 있어 총 9개의 측선을 측정할 수 있게 개발하였다. 특히, 하천 및 수로 등의 표면 유속을 비접촉으로 측정하고 하천 단면을 이용하여 유량측정이 가능한 장비로 별도의 수중 및 수상 주조물 작업이 필요 없고 장비의 손상 및 유실 가능성이 거의 없고 역류 상태에서도 측정이 가능하다. 유속은 24GHz의 레이더 주파수를 송수신하여 도플러 변이를 이용하여 측정하였고, 수위는 80GHz의 레이더 주파수를 사용하여 왕복 시간을 거리로 환산하여 측정하였다. 유량은 각각의 유속계에 단면을 입력해 놓으면 유속분포법, 중간단면적법 및 지표유속법을 적용하여, 각각의 측선에 대한유량과 총 유량을 산출하였다. 그 결과, 기존 방식 대비 상당한 개선 효과를 확인하였고, 향후 환경부 등 중앙부처의 수문조사 사업에서 그 역할이 기대된다.

A Study on Ground and Object Separation Techniques Utilizing 3D Point Cloud Data in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Environments (UAM 환경에서의 3D Point Cloud Data 지면/객체 분리 기법 연구)

  • Recently, interest in UAM (Urban Air Mobility) has surged as a critical solution to urban traffic congestion and air pollution issues. However, efficient UAM operation requires accurate 3D Point Cloud data processing, particularly in separating the ground and objects. This paper proposes and validates a method for effectively separating ground and objects in a UAM environment, taking into account its dynamic and complex characteristics. Our approach combines attitude information from MEMS sensors with ground plane estimation using RANSAC, allowing for ground/object separation that isless affected by GPS errors. Simulation results demonstrate that this method effectively operates in UAM settings, marking a significant step toward enhancing safety and efficiency in urban air mobility. Future research will focus on improving the accuracy of this algorithm, evaluating its performance in various UAM scenarios, and proceeding with actual drone tests.

Analysis of Allowable Settlement on Tracks of High Speed Railway (고속철도 궤도 종류에 따른 허용침하량 분석)

  • An application of concrete track is being actively processed for the construction of Korean high speed railway. The concrete track has an advantage in decreasing the maintenance cost, whereas it has much difficulty controlling the long term settlement after settlement occurred. Therefore, the management and control of settlement are very important for the successful construction of concrete track. The purpose of this paper is to verify the allowable settlement between concrete track and ballast track, and piled raft foundation installation effects as settlement reducers for concrete track. Therefore, a series of 3D finite element analyses that take into account the allowable settlement were performed for major parameters such as soil condition, pile installation and loading type. Based on the analysis, it is shown that concrete track causes much smaller settlement than ballast track, and the effect of installation is necessary to effectively reduce the settlement of concrete track.

An Investigation for Driving Behavior on the Exit-ramp Terminal in Urban Underground Roads Using a Driving Simulator (주행 시뮬레이터를 활용한 도심 지하도로 유출연결로 접속부 주행행태 분석)

  • Even though driving behaviors in underground roads can be significantly different from ground roads, existing underground roads follow the design guidelines of ground roads. In this context, this study investigates the driving behaviors of the exit-ramp terminal of urban underground roads using a driving simulator. Virtual driving experiments were performed by analyzing scenarios between the underground and ground road environments. The experiments' driving behavior data for each geometry section are compared and validated through a statistical significance test. This test showed that the speed in the underground road environment is relatively low, and the LPM tends to move away from the adjacent tunnel wall. Based on these findings, this study suggests implications and feasible solutions for improving driver's safety in the exit-ramp terminal of the underground roads.

Relative Settlement Analysis of Soft Ground (연약지반의 상대적 침하 거동 분석)

  • Instruments are installed in soft ground improvement projects to manage economic and safe construction. When analyzing data, the amount of settlement data over time can be used to understand the overall ground settlement behavior, but it is difficult to analyze the interrelatedness between measurement points. Therefore, to analyze the relative compressive settlement behavior between measurement points, the settlement amount and velocity were processed and defined as the mean settlement difference index (ASi,j) and the slope difference index (SDIi,j). Plotted in the mean settlement difference index - slope difference index (ASi,j-SDIi,j) coordinate system. As a result of the analysis of the relative compaction subsidence behavior between the measuring points, the relationship between the measuring points in the average subsidence difference index - slope difference index coordinate system moved to area 1 as the compaction was completed. By continuously plotting the movement path of the observation point in the corresponding coordinate system, the relative settlement behavior between the measurement points was analyzed, and it was possible to check whether the settlement behavior of the two measurement points was stable or unstable depending on the direction of the path.
