Study on the Trends of U-City and Smart City Researches using Text Mining Technology (텍스트마이닝 기법을 이용한 U-City와 Smart City의 연구 동향에 대한 분석)

  • City is currently developing into intelligent city which adopts the ICT technology to resolve the problems and increase the competitiveness. This intelligent city is promoted under the name of U-City or Smart City, yet it is also criticized in the trend for what the differences between U-City and Smart City are. In this study, we draws the differences between U-City and Smart City from our distinctive research method, text mining which analyzes the trend of research papers, and contribute to direction of U-City study in the future. Through this analysis, the study results in that U-City focuses practical implementation in domestic cities while Smart City focuses technological development and provision of single service. However, this paper has a limitation as the subjective opinion was reflected to configure the sets of keywords, and only keywords and s were analyzed. Therefore, further studies are needed to confirm the differences between U-City and Smart City with related research papers and reports.

On Visualization of Trajectory Data for Traffic Flow Simulation of Urban-scale (도시 스케일의 교통 흐름 시뮬레이션을 위한 궤적 데이터 시각화)

  • As traffic volume increases and road networks become more complicated, identifying for accurate traffic flow and driving smooth traffic flow are a concern of many countries. There are various analytical techniques and studies which desire to study about effective traffic flow. However, the necessary activity is finding the traffic flow pattern through data visualization including location information. In this paper aim to study a real-world urban traffic trajectory and visualize a pattern of traffic flow with a simulation tool. Our experiment is installing the sensor module in 40 taxis and our dataset is generated along 24 hours and unscheduled routes. After pre-processing data, we improved an open source traffic visualize tools to suitable for our experiment. Then we simulate our vehicle trajectory data with a dots animation over a period of time, which allows clearly view a traffic flow simulation and a understand the direction of movement of the vehicle or route pattern. In addition we further propose some novel timelines to show spatial-temporal features to improve an urban environment due to the traffic flow.

Busan building height regulations for the management of mountain landscape: focused on the skyline of Hwangreung Mountain (부산시 산지경관 관리를 위한 건축물 높이 규제 방법에 관한 연구: 황령산 산림스카이라인을 중심으로)

  • The high-rise buildings have been indiscriminately located in the good natural landscape in Busan. They destroy the mountain skyline that is the key role of urban landscape and lower the index of greenness. Busan need the efficient management methods of the mountain skyline to improve the quality of urban life, the amenity of urban landscape, and the index of greenness. This study is to propose the method of building height restriction both through the GIS bases multiple sight surface analysis and through the analysis of the floor area ratio to make up for the weakness of single sight surface analysis has been used as a means of building height restriction. It studies the residential district with Hwangreung Mountain in the background at Deeyeon-don, Nam-gu, Busan. It achieves both objectivity and time efficiency by multiple sight surface analysis. Reflecting the result of this simulation at strategic viewpoints, it enables landscape planning to be comprehensive. Lastly it suggests building height regulation for protecting the mountain skyline which responds to the local conditions.

A Study on the Changes in Citizens' Perceptions of Urban Landscape of Gimhae (김해시 도시경관에 대한 시민의 인식변화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in citizens' perceiving urban landscape. To this end, the citizens' perceptions of urban landscape of Gimhae were surveyed two times in 2003 and 2011. To examine the statistical significance, the frequency analysis, the chi-square test were applied. There were small changes of opinion between two periods caused by the change of city form, an increase in interest in the living environment, environmental protection and so on. The interest of the citizens of the landscape were high. Citizens showed a negative feedback with respect to economic sacrifice. So, regulation causing citizens' economic loss should be avoided and It is effective to establish policies to support and induction. The results of this study are intended to be used as a reference to the planning urban landscape.

Study on Traffic Noise in Residential Area Near Urban Expressways (주거지역 인접 도시고속도로 교통소음 분석)

  • Noise pollution on the residential areas adjacent to urban expressway is a very severe situation. There has been a significant increases in the number of residential areas near urban expressway, and the quality of life in such areas is being degraded due to increased traffic volume and speed. In this study, several factors such as traffic volume, speed, and distance from noise source, etc. that affect the noise level were investigated for the residential areas near urban expressway. A correlation and regression model was built to examine the relationship between such traffic factors and noise. The study result found that traffic volume had a closer relationship with noise than speed had. Therefore, to decrease road traffic noise, it is more imperative to control traffic volume than traffic speed.

Locational Characteristics and Use Factors of Public Wi-Fi in the Jeju Province (제주도 공공와이파이의 입지 특성과 이용 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigates the effectiveness of Jeju's public Wi-Fi policy for which the key factors of public Wi-Fi use and location characteristics are analyzed. Spatial regression analysis was conducted within a 100 m radius of public Wi-Fi access points. In the analysis, the dependent variable was public Wi-Fi usage time while independent variables included demographic factors, location factors, and other factors. The findings reveal that demographic factors such as the number of residents, the number of workers, and the number of visitors had a close correlation with the use of public Wi-Fi. In addition, the number of bus stops and land prices of each parcel, land use mix, and AP installation period had a positive correlation with the use of public Wi-Fi. On the contrary, the number of buildings by use, the total floor area of buildings, and the number of tourist attractions had negative correlations with public Wi-Fi usage time. These findings provide policy implications that more active publicity on Jeju's public Wi-Fi is needed and the convenience for access needs to be improved.

  • Recently, urban tourism regeneration projects to attract tourists are gradually increasing. Therefore, this paper focuses on social capital, which is a major factor in attracting tourists to revisit for revitalization of such urban tourism areas. Specifically, it looked at one of the social relations formed between tourists and local residents,'the process of revisiting based on attachment to the place by making the formation of social capital perceive empirical value'. As a result, you can see (insert result). This means that the bond between tourists and local residents is an important factor in inducing tourists to revisit actively in the urban tourism regeneration area. Therefore, this study presented implications for academic and practical work based on these results.

Analysis of Urban Planning Facility Service Area according to Bus Passenger Traffic in Jinju (진주시 버스 이용객 통행에 따른 도시계획시설 서비스 권역 분석)

  • This study aims to investigate the gap in accessibility to urban planning facilities between living spheres in local small and medium-sized cities. In this study, OD data between administrative dongs of public transportation users was constructed to analyze the living shpere, and community analysis was conducted based on cohesion between data. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that a total of 10 clusters (mid-living areas) were formed, and the topographical difference between the 11 middle living areas established in the existing Jinju City Basic Plan and the single living areas were actively exchanged to form a community with other administrative dongs. Next, the analysis of the service area of urban planning facilities for mid-living areas was conducted based on the road network. As a result of analyzing the area accessible within 5, 10, and 15 minutes, educational facilities, public facilities, cultural facilities, tourism, and green facilities could be reached within 15 minutes in most mid-living areas. On the other hand, there were many areas where access to transportation facilities, medical facilities, and cultural facilities was difficult within 15 minutes. In particular, the accessibility of the outer living area and the central living area were different. To improve the quality of life of citizens, using urban planning facilities in Jinju-si and establishing related plans in urban basic plans, it is necessary to conduct a study on service areas through network analysis.

  • A variety of activity happens around the sidewalk in the city. Particularly, a large variety of activity happens in shopping area, but it causes an obstruction of economical revitalization since the pedestrians require time and cost to find what they want. So, this study will develop the path searching method to minimize the economical loss of shoppers by providing the significant path and supporting the walking movement. Firstly, consider existing network expression techniques and approach three points which are physical and environmental factor, the recognition of the pedestrians' space when changing the direction, and the recognition of restriction of vision and accessibility. Try to design the network DB and simulate the algorithm. As a result, it is now possible to do the path searching that considers variety of recognition factors and show the method how to make the path-searching algorithm for pedestrian.

  • The quantification methods and definitions of resilience vary and are studied across many fields. However, this diversity can lead to gaps in interpretation regarding the meaning and indicators of resilience, potentially having a negative impact on resilience assessments. Therefore, uniform standards for defining and quantifying resilience are essential. This study presented a definition of resilience and socio-structural evaluation methods of resilience through network analysis. Furthermore, through analyzing various definitions of resilience, the definition of resilience in the context of urban flooding was presented. Distinguishing between static and dynamic resilience, an evaluation method based on common attributes was proposed. Lastly, the economic effects of introducing resilience were analyzed using an inundation trace map. Future research on the secondary effects through standardized resilience assessments is expected to be widely utilized in decision-making stages within urban flood policies.
