It is not easy for information users to find books that are suitable for them in a knowledge information society. There is a growing need for libraries to break away from traditional services and provide user-tailored recommendation services, but there are few qualitative studies on user satisfaction so far. In this study, a user-customized book recommendation was performed by applying Apriori, a correlation analysis algorithm, and satisfaction factors were analyzed in depth through interviews. The experimental data was the loan data of 100 people who used the most frequently used loan data for 10 years from 2009 to 2019 of the S library in Seoul. The interviewees of the experiment were those who could be interviewed in depth. After the correlation analysis, the concepts and categories derived by analyzing the interview data were 59 concepts, 6 sub-categories, and 2 upper categories, respectively. The upper categories were 'reading' and 'book recommendation service'. In the 'reading' category, there were 16 concepts of motivation for reading, 8 concepts of preferred books, and 12 concepts of expected effects. Also, in the category of 'reading recommendation service', there were 10 'reflection factors', 4 'reflection methods', and 9 'satisfaction factors'.

This research investigated the effects of university library users' use patterns and their recognition of service benefits on the magnitude of service value assessments derived from users' statements using contingent valuation method (CVM). Library users' use patterns were operationalized by the number of library visits, library website visit counts and the degree of dependence on their own libraries. User benefits variables were measured by the level of satisfaction on the benefits of library use for teaching & instruction, research & writings, and employment & external activities. University library services were divided into circulation, journal articles (domestic & foreign), reference service, user education, reading room service and WTPs for each service were measured. The results from hypotheses testing show that the number of library visits affect WTP amounts for circulation, foreign article use, reference service and user education. The degree of library dependence seems to affect WTP amounts for circulation and user education. With regards to the hypotheses related to the recognition of library service benefits, the degree of satisfaction for teaching & instruction benefits seems to affect WTP amounts for reading room use.

This study is to in-depth analysis of the copyright issues related to the library's e-book service, which is the cause of the recent conflict between the publishing industry and the library industry. To this end, the purpose and outline of the copyright system were briefly summarized. Then, the jurisprudence of the Copyright Act applied to the borrowing of paper books and e-books was analyzed, and the position of the publisher's association and the library industry were reviewed together. In addition, problems of the current copyright act related to e-book services were diagnosed and directions for improvement were sought. Unlike in the case of paper books, first sale doctrine does not apply to e-book borrowing, so the library cannot acquire the right to service just by purchasing e-books. Based on the contract signed with the distributor in the process of purchasing the e-book, the library acquires the right to service the e-book. However, if the validity period of the exclusive publication right expires, the contract itself becomes invalid, which can cause serious problems in the stability of library services and preservation of resources. In order to solve this problem, it is suggested that the first sale doctrine needs to be extended to digital works.

This study attempted to analyze the deposit stations in Japanese Colonial Era of Korea. To do this, this study reviewed the related literature such as articles, records, statistics, books and reports selected from databases, archives and libraries. The deposit stations were categorized by the colonial governmental bodies that included the central and local governments, by the non-governmental bodies that included the quasi-public organizations, the anti-Japanese organizations and the others and religious organizations and by the public libraries. These deposit stations were analyzed according to the time and purpose of establishment, the audience and area of the services, the ways of the services and the theme and quantities of the collections. Finally, the study could find that the deposit stations were widely adopted to supplement the lack of a library infrastructure by various administrative bodies and non-governmental bodies in Japanese Colonial Era of Korea.

As the number of smart libraries is continuously increasing, activation measures are necessary to expand user engagement and enhance service quality. This study analyzed the usage patterns of four smart libraries in A Library in Incheon, from June 2020 to December 2023. It also conducted user satisfaction surveys and question-and-answer sessions with a librarian. The number of books and loans increased, and two smart libraries in areas without public libraries showed high usage rates. Although users were satisfied with the smart libraries, they pointed out inconveniences such as the limited number of loan books and insufficient books. Consequently, it is suggested to improve user-centered service quality, continuous monitoring and evaluation, as well as active promotion.

This system can perform efficient administration in a searching, lending and returning books. And also with this system, many styles of reading education is possible by considering properties of Elementary School. Using the system teachers and students can exchange a information about books or reading together. We organized the system to aid teachers in administration and assistance to students by joining the admittance of use, and to manage a library efficiently in consideration of understanding one another and several conditions in use of library. Besides, students can be appraised their reading process, so with the result that they will be a good reader.

This research provides an empirical analysis of the academic libraries' operating performance in Seoul, Korea. This study aims to find the key variables and the impacts of each variables on the operating performance of the academic library to attain competitiveness and long-term conditions for enhancing customer satisfaction. Specifically, this research focuses on the library's circulation service performance. The author try to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of the library (space, number of employees, number of books, budget) and the circulation performance. Korea Libraries Association have published yearly-book on the Korean library's circumstances and statistics. Yearly-book contains the data about the spaces, number of books, number of workers, the library's budget scales and other unique elements. This study finds that the circulation performance of books is positively related with the size of physical space, number of books holdings, and budgets (hypothesis 1, 3 and 4 accepted). This study demonstrate that the characteristic elements of academic library can be influential factor of the library performance.

The purpose of this study is to longitudinally analyze impact factors on library use. One of library use indicators, the number of circulated books was statistically analyzed with latent growth model and growth mixture model. Library data from 2014 to 2019 were collected from the National Library Statistics System, and 846 public libraries were analyzed. As results, the number of circulated books were decreased, but it was tempered. Next, with controlling the factor affecting the dependent variable, the size of collection and the number of participants in reading programs provided by public libraries were statistically significant. Lastly, 5 classes were identified by applying the growth mixture model, and the number of librarians was significantly associated with trajectory class membership.

This study aims to analyze library user and circulation status based on the bigdata logs to identify characteristics by user group and propose methods for efficient management of library. The logs to be analyzed consist of user information, circulation information, service usage information registered at the National Library of Korea, Sejong. The user information logs contain 107,369 age data, 106,918 gender data, 106,838 residential data. The circulation information logs contain 536,083 circulation user data, 6,509,369 circulation count data, and the service usage information logs contain 82,813 data. For the analysis of characteristics by user group, the data were used for analyzing user status by age, gender, residence and circulation status by year, month, day. In addition, this study conducts FGI(Focus Group Interview) and linkage analysis with external data to identify factors for analysis results. Based on analysis results, improvement methods for helping library make effective decision-making were proposed. This study analyze empirically user and circulation status based on bigdata logs, and it has significance for being different form proceeding researches with less analysis data.
