The purpose of this study is identify factors influenced of children's library use and management through investigating the use patterns and recognition of children's parents on children's libraries. Questionnaire was used as a research method. Data was collected from the parents who entered library entrance with their child and children on four public libraries. Six factors were identified from four public libraries setting. There were the spatial planning based upon library use patterns, the flexibility and mobile furnishings, the activity area for causing children's Interesting, the guarantee of safety Place for children, the quiet area for emotional stability, and functional place for moving around.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the spacial composition feature of Law School Library and define the feature in spacial planning of law school library. Through the analysis of characteristics in spacial composition, the basic spacial type of law school library will be proposed as a new law school library design. The spatial composition characteristics of Law school Library are as followings. (1) Entry spatial feature for the user accessibility (2) Reference room spatial planning for carrel user (3) Connectivity of educational & research space and reference room space. As the result of design proposal and analyzing the spacial feature, firstly entry common space of library should be planned with reference room space. Secondly, reading room should be linked to the entry level for the user. Lastly, core space should be planned as the vertical connectivity space for the intimately linkage of educational & research space and reference room. And separated accessibility should be considered for direct connection from outdoor space.

In this study, I tried to provide the basic data for planning the public library space to meet the new needs of the users in digital generation by survey and literature review on factors in planning the digital space of public libraries. In 2000, a separate space for digital materials has been prepared at the most of the libraries as a part of informatization program of public libraries. However, it is not sufficient to provide a number of different needs of the users due to the identical design of all the libraries. For the prioritization, 50 factors have been deducted by review of preceding studies, evaluation factors and criteria of library of each institution. Factorial analysis was performed on the factors with the importance which was higher than average. Also, the relationships among the factors with similar properties were understood to categorize the factors in space planning by each factor. Based on these factors in planning the digital space, further space evaluation of the public library and user satisfaction survey could be followed to provide a fundamental basis for the specific space planning.

The National Sejong Library of Korea that is constructed in Sejong City is a public library as well as a library specialized in policy information and children's service. Thus, this study intended to suggest measures of space composition in the National Sejong Library of Korea. First, it proposed strategies for space composition by analyzing cases on spatial factors that are key elements in a national library. Second, it suggested space composition and circulation plan that can support policy information and children's service in order to establish a user-oriented national as well as public library. And finally, it collected opinions from operating managers for the effective progression of space composition in the blueprint on each floor while focusing on users' circulation plan and granting spatial characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to provide guidelines and recommendations on the process of planning and designing library space and it also reflects on developments which should be considered when planning new library space. The methodology of estimating library space needs of IFLA, a guide for public library building in New South Wales of Australia, and the recommendations for academic libraries in French were analysed. The results given throughout theses guidelines and recommendations are able to develop the guide for public library space in Korea. The guide suggested defines six broad types of library space; collection area, readers and library users, library staff, conference, meeting and cultural space, mechanical and support services, additional services areas. It is import to remember however that each library building and the service it provides is unique and should reflect the needs and aspiration of its community.

The objective of this paper is to obtain the knowledge for spatial Planning of children's library which serves various users. The study method is to observes the children and their parents' space use according to the age step of children in public library, and analyzes it in the relation with the classified 4-types of children's section. Five characteristics were identified. First, children area was influenced by library location and user's characteristics. Second, children area was used various aged group with children. Third, there were different use patterns based upon age. Fourth, various reading space was needed through areas. And, last the behavior and the characteristics of area and furnishings were described.

As a preliminary study for the basic plan for the construction of the Buyeo Public Library, this study conducted a survey on Buyeo-gun residents' perception of the operation of Buyeo Public Library facilities and spaces, books, services and programs, and library characteristics. As a result, it was found that the survey subjects recognized the overall natural atmosphere of Buyeo Public Library facilities and spaces, and the convenience of using comfortable and pleasant data reading spaces and data. In addition, it was found that the preferred type of information source as the direction of book operation was print data, and the subject aspect was the highest preference for the literary field, and it was found that they wished to provide book and knowledge information in various fields.

국민복지에 대한 사회적 관심과 복지실현의 핵심 요소로 도서관이 인식되면서 공공도서관의 수가 2000년대 들어 급격히 증가하고 있다. 1980년에 79개관에 불과했던 전국 공공도서관이 2013년 말 기준으로 885개관에 이르고 있으며, 공공도서관의 효율적 공간구성에 대한 이용자 요구가 증대되고 있다. 특히 이용자의 요구에 부응하기 위한 디지털열람실과 문화교육실의 증가는 2000년 전 후의 변화에 따른 시사점으로 나타나고 있으며, 기존 공간구성 비율에서 벗어나 시대에 적합한 도서관 공간계획이 필요한 시점이다. 이 연구는 1980~1990년대 준공된 공공도서관과 2000년 이후 설립된 공공도서관을 중심으로 시대별 공공도서관의 공간구성 형태를 상호 비교분석하였다. 장서보존과 열람 기능이 강조되었던 1980~1990년대와 이용자의 측면을 고려하여 문화영역 기능이 확대된 2000년대 이후 공공도서관의 소요시설별 면적비율의 차이를 살펴봄으로써 시대요구와 부합할 수 있는 면적기준을 제시하였다.

In this study, we attempted to propose operational directions for each space in order to transform the newly built library in Yangpyeong-gun into a space for cultural enjoyment and creativity development for local residents. To this end, the purpose is to understand the space composition status of Yangpyeong-gun public libraries and establish an operation plan (draft) for the space to be constructed. To this end, we analyzed the names, operation status, and cases of similar spaces in other libraries, and analyzed the spatial characteristics of library cases to establish a space operation plan for the Yangpyeong-gun public library. As a result of the study, it is important to utilize spaces such as children's resource rooms to improve early reading habits for infants and children, contribute to development, and develop various senses, and small theaters should be planned with a focus on large-scale performances. Furniture and space for reading and relaxation should be provided next to Byeokmyeonga & Bookstair, and it should be operated as a communication space where small talk is possible within a certain limit. It is necessary to operate the multipurpose room by activating experiential creative activities and creative performances. It is necessary for the club room to establish an operation plan through regular communication and opinion sharing. The maker space space is a space that supports various creative activities, and the general data room is a place that provides materials on all topics and must be operated by regularly communicating with users and reflecting their opinions. Lastly, I would like to suggest that the family room should be used like a book cafe where children and parents can freely drink tea together in the same space.
