한국도서관협회는 도서간 정책부서와 지구별협의회 및 관종별 협의회의 2013년도 계획에 대해 도서관계에 대한 전망과 각 단체의 사업계획에 대한 조사를 실시하였다. 이에 2월호에서는 도서관 정책부서와 지구별협의회의 계획을, 3월에서는 관종별협의회의 계획을 각각 정리하여 소개한다.

The categorization of libraries into several types supports an understanding of the concept of library and also provides a framework for the practice of library management, such as planning and management. Although a 4-type categorization with public, academic, special, and school libraries is the most traditional and general approach to categorization, the definition of each type has been set enumeratively and inductively, so that it has weaknesses in its clarity between categories and in its applicability to a new environment. In this conceptual paper, deductive and analytical criteria for the 4-type categorization are suggested based on characteristics of information needs. Implications of the suggestions about library management, and especially, the meaning and impact of stakeholders on library management are discussed. Additionally, this paper attempts to put forth a conceptual link between library and information.

지난 20세기 말 우리 도서관계는 관종을 초월하여 명칭변경, 가능변경 및 통폐합, 위탁경영, 기능축소 등 많은 어려움을 겪었으며, 이러한 어려움은 2000년에도 계속될 것이라는 우려가 많다. 그러나 금년 2000년도는 새천년 지식정보사회 출발의 해로 그 어느 때보다도 도서관의 사회적 역할이 크게 증대될 것인 바, 우리 도서관계도 올 한해를 알차고 내실 있는 도서관으로 도약하는 해로 삼아야 할 것이다. 이에 우리 협회에서는 본지면을 통하여 도서관계 각 단체의 올 한해 각오와 사업방향 등을 알아보았다.(편집자 주)

This study identified the perceptions of library staff by type of library week through a survey and sought content that the library community should review to revitalize the legal library day and library week in the future. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the library staff's experience of participating in the library week and satisfaction with the event support of the host organization were low. In addition, it was found that awareness of the legal library day and library week, which will be implemented from 2023, is quite low. There were many opinions about the national publicity of the library and sufficient budget support for the event as a focus for the promotion of Library Day and Library Week in the future. In order to effectively promote the legal library week in the future through an awareness survey of library staff, various efforts are made to improve the awareness of the library community, cooperation with other library types to induce participation in various types of institutions, and the formation of a promotion committee within the association for each type of library, and use of various media It was confirmed that active media publicity and securing budget were necessary.

1970년 5월 14일부터 제9회 전국 도서관대회가 관종별로 4개 지역에서 개최되어 지난 6월 13일 학교 도서관대회를 끝으로 큰 성황리에 대회를 마쳤습니다. 동 대회에 참석한 전국의 도서관인은 도서관이 국가 발전에 있어서 다른 어느 분야보다도 못지않게 중요한 역할을 담당하는 기본적이고 착실한 도구이며, 국가의 정보자원체라는 의견을 재확인하고 오늘 날 조국의 근대화 작업을 수행함에 있어 국가의 기본적인 정보자원체로서의 우리 도서관계가 당면한 문제에 대하여 검토 협의한바 다음의 사항이 해결되어야 하겠다는데 의견을 같이하고 정부관계 요로에 적극적인 조처와 협조가 요망되는 다음의 사항을 건의하오니 적절한 조처가 있으시기를 바라는 바입니다.

This study aims to examine the case of using the social network services in the korea library, and then search the type of social network services and the status of it's introduction. It is used to the study of the introduction and the invigoration of social network services on the compatible library. First, we extracted the list of four type's high level management libraries from 2010 to 2012. Second, we examined the website's homepage of the list of 32's university library, 41's public library, 40's school library, 9's special library. Third, the result of analysis identified the feature and difference of the using the social network services of these libraries. Fourth, on the base of the result, it suggested some items of introduction's issue and the directions of future research.

This study seeks to develop a curriculum operating model for Korean Library and Information Science, based on investigations into LIS curricula at home and abroad. Standard courses that can be applied to this model were also proposed. This study comprehensively analyzed the contents of domestic and foreign curricula and surveyed current librarians in all types of library fields. As a result, this study proposed required courses, core courses, and elective courses. Six required LIS courses are: Introduction to Library and Information Science, Information Organization, Information Services, Library and Information Center Management, Information Retrieval, and Field Work. Six core LIS courses are: Classification & Cataloging Practice, Subject Information Resources, Collection Development, Digital Library, Introduction to Bibliography, and Introduction to Archive Management. Twenty selective LIS courses include: the General Library and Information Science area (Cultural History of Information, Information Society and Library, Library and Copyright, Research Methods in Library and Information Science), the Information Organization area (Metadata Fundamentals, KORMARC Practice), the Information Services area (Information Literacy Instruction, Reading Guidance, Information User Study), the Library and Information Center Management area (Library Management, including management for different kinds of libraries, Library Information Cooperator, Library Marketing, Non-book Material and Multimedia Management (Contents Management), the Information Science area (Database Management, including Web DB Management, Indexing and Abstracting, Introduction to Information Science, Understanding Information Science, Automated System of Library, Library Information Network), and the Archival Science area (Preservation Management).

In this study, libraries of national and public universities, libraries of private universities, libraries of colleges, public libraries of local governments were selected to measure, compare and analyze the differences in job satisfaction of librarians working in different types of libraries. As for measurement items, 10 factors for job satisfaction were chosen. In doing so, this researcher compared and analyzed the overall job satisfaction and work satisfaction, employment satisfaction, satisfaction with promotion system, satisfaction with work distribution, satisfaction with payment system, satisfaction with service system, satisfaction with facility environment, satisfaction with educational training, satisfaction with welfare system, and satisfaction with personal relations. The results of the analysis on job satisfaction with each factor by librarians working in different types of libraries are presented as follows. First, the overall job satisfaction value of the librarians was 3.940, which means relatively high satisfaction, and in terms of a type of library, libraries of private universities showed the highest value, and the next ones were found to be libraries of colleges, public libraries and libraries of national and public libraries. Secondly, regarding the ranking of the overall satisfaction with the selected 10 job satisfaction factors by different types of libraries, educational training was found to rank the highest, and the next ones were surveyed to be the job, the service system, the personal relations, the employment system, the work distribution, the facility environment, the payment system, the welfare system, and the promotion system.

This study intends to make a comprehensive inquiry about practices of cataloging outsourcing implemented in Korea libraries. To the end, this study examined (1) how many libraries is carrying out the cataloging outsourcing, (2) why libraries consider cataloging outsourcing, (3) methods and procedures of cataloging outsourcing and (4) advantages and disadvantages of cataloging outsourcing from catalogers' perspectives. The data needed for discussion were collected by two methods : a survey with 138 public libraries and an in-depth interviews with 10 catalogers drawn from the survey participants.
