The goal of this paper is mainly to review and summarize the multimedia information formats and technical standards that have been applied so that library and information specialists can understand them systematically. The most fundamental differences between digital library and the classic one are specified by describing the general characteristics of hypermedia information environment. With the proprietary advantages of multimedia technology to digital library developments, the core technological standards (publicly available) of text and non-text data, including multimedia data, are reviewed. Finally, it describes some important and professional perspectives and roles of library practioners as well as researchers who are engaged with the innovation of digital library.

21C를 맞이하여 도서관의 환경은 점점 더 변화되어가고 있고, 기존의 자료의 보존이나 처리기능에서 이용자중심으로의 역할변화가 뚜렷해지고 있다. 이용자중심의 도서관이 되기 위해서는 전통적인 조직구조보다는 보다 유연하고 개방적인 조직구조로의 전환이 필요하며, 이러한 상황에 효율적으로 대처하기 위한 조직유형의 한 방법으로 팀조직의 도입을 제안하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 팀조직의 개념과 유형 및 특성, 그리고 최근에 외국도서관에서 실제로 적용되고 있는 팀조직의 유형에 대하여 고찰해보고, 이와 함께 도서관조직에 팀조직의 효율적인 활용가능성과 응용성에 대하여 분석하고자 한다.

A braille library undoubtedly changes with a changing information environment. However "changing information service" as a topic couldn't be found among previous researches. That's the reason it felt necessary in this paper to analyze the way service in a braille library changes according to a changing environment. as well as to make clear the meaning and the role a braille library has for blind people. As a first step, a questionnaire aimed at Korean braille libraries was carried out in order to understand changes of library service. Results showed that most changes in braille library service were due to the influence of internet, directly or indirectly. In this connection. the way braille libraries made us of this new tool was analyzed as follows. Firstly braille libraries were found to help a better circulation of information from internet towards blind people. It appeared secondly that internet was also used in order to improve already existing services as well as new services. Thirdly libraries were shown to have developed new services related to internet although these services weren't initially library ones. These new aspects of library service constitute by themselves a proof of the importance of braille libraries, although blind people might in some cases obtain the wished piece of information without them. Therefore braille libraries prove to be remained necessarily even if information environment changes.t changes.

도서관이 제공하고 있는 이용자 교육이 변화된 도서관 환경을 반영한 정보 기술 및 정보 활용 능력의 제고와 평생교육을 지향하는 정보소양 능력의 습득을 위한 과정으로 확장되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 본 연구에서는 최근에 이루어지고 있는 대학도서관 이용자 교육이 이용자들의 정보 활용 능력에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 측정하여 그 효과성과 관련성을 확인해봄으로써, 대학도서관에서의 이용자 교육이 나아갈 방향을 살펴보고자 한다.

As affective barriers to library and information use, library anxiety(Mellon, 1986) has been studied in reference/information services and bibliographic instructions. The paper revisits Mellon's theory of library anxiety and Bostick's(1992) Library Anxiety Scale(LAS) in the digital library environment. In particular, this study attempts to address the inadequacy of the continued applications of LAS in the digital library environment, although the scale has been used unquestionably as the instrument measuring library anxiety. This contention was substantiated by three service trends in digital libraries(i.e., digital reference services, remote access, and transition from bibliographic instructions to information literacy) and by re-analyses of published library anxiety research papers in recent years. This study addresses the need for scale development that could measure anxieties of digital library users. It also suggests Information Literacy Anxiety Scale(ILAS) as a direction for the new scale.

Convergence is an important concept for driving our society to be ubiquitous. The objectives of this paper are to conceptualize information convergence, and to analyze its mechanisms from the view of ubiquitous library circumstances. Further, this paper suggests mobile Web 2.0 as a library supporting technology for information convergence and some kinds of mobile based library user services using mobile Web 2.0 applications.

이용자의 정보요구 변화와 이용자 중심의 서비스로 전환 그리고 도서관의 심화된 경쟁 등의 도서관을 둘러싼 환경의 변화는 이용자 기대의 변화와 도서관 경영이 변화를 가져왔다. 따라서 이용자에 대한 관심의 증가와 그들의 요구를 파악하기 위한 노력이 도서관 경영에 필요하게 되었으며, 도서관 품질 평가에 있어 수치적인 측면에서 탈피하여 고객 중심의 품질 평가로의 전환이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구는 서비스 품질 측정에 관한 다수 이론들과 모형을 정리하여 도서관 서비스 품질을 측정하는 새로운 도구를 제시해 보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning and status of the current service of academic libraries in the aspect of its supporting roles for academic courses. The research methods include an examination of model cases from the U.S.A. and Hong Kong and also an electronic questionnaire survey of 32 academic libraries in Korea(67% response rate). With the result of the research analysis, this study aimed to provide optimal administrative plans in e-learning environment.
