The purpose of this study is to analyze the local government's regulation on facilities and the operation method of the small library provided for in 'the Ordinance on the Support for Installation and Operation of Small Libraries', and investigate and analyze the satisfaction with the services and needs on the part of users of small libraries, thus suggesting an effective management plan for them. In this study, literature reviews and questionnaire surveys were conducted simultaneously using monographic publications, theses, legal materials and Internet sites. As for study results, an effective management plan for small libraries was suggested as follow with its division into five realms; that is, facilities, materials, manpower, programs and network.

There has been significant movements in the provision of equal access to library and information services for persons with disability. This study aimed to analyze the use and needs of library services of disabled people with a survey. The survey data revealed that the majority of disabled persons did not visit library and not experience library sol-vices. The main reason was reported that they had poor information about the library services. Also, they did not satisfy the variety, sufficiency, accessibility, up-to-dateness of the materials in general. And there were difference of favorite programs and needs among different kinds of the disabled. Therefore, active guidance and public relations about library services. improvement of accessibility for the disabled by building digital collection, resource sharing and extension of services by building library cooperation network, and the arrangement of librarians for the disabled and education for them should be back up for improving library services for the disabled.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the characteristics of seven major cooperative storage facilities for academic libraries in the U.S.A, Australia, and Scotland in order to provide a frame of reference for such a facility in Korea. Analyzed are unique characteristics of these storage facilities in relation to their physical facilities, uses and services for collections, participating organizations, ownership of resources, and integrated library management and access systems. Some objectives of operations and physical environments are shared by these storage facilities, and have some implications for the development of cooperative storage facilities in Korea.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between university library usage and educational achievement of academic library users. To proceed with this study, academic library usage data were collected from S university undergraduate students. Academic achievement was measured using the students' grade point average(GPA). T-test and analysis of variance were used to compare differences of means between library usage and academic achievement with the background variables. Hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to determine the association between library usage and academic achievement. As a result, a positive correlation was found between academic achievement and the use of library resources and services according to gender, year and academic subject. In addition, academic library usage had a positive significant influence on academic achievement. Students who used more library resources and facilities ultimately get better grades.

본 연구는 신축된 군산대학교 중앙도서관을 대상으로 학생들의 이용 및 만족도를 조사 분석하여 개선점을 파악하고, 보다 나은 도서관이 될 수 있도록 그 방향을 설정하기 위한 것이다. 설문지법을 채택하여 조사 연구를 진행하였으며, 조사대상은 전교생의 10%에 해당하는 740명을 표본으로 선정하여 설문지를 배포하였고, 672명으로부터 설문지를 회수 받았으며 SPSS/PC+를 이용하여 자료를 분석하였다.

This study tried to suggest a plan for an efficient management and utilization of job-related collections closely connected to the job education field of colleges. The data were collected through data inquiry, telephone interview inquiry and questionnaire and based on the results of the analysis, an efficient utilization plan of job-related collections was derived. It reached a result that it is desirable that libraries initiatively operate job-related collections but in consideration of the approachability, use convenience and utilization of students, the display and management of materials are performed jointly with libraries and employment departments. In addition, so as to plan the development of the job-related collections, libraries need to develop the common basic major materials by major to consider the characteristics as well as educational purposes of colleges and develop the core employment major data connected to major related certificates and intensively secure job practice focused materials.

교육의 국제화로 인해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 유학생의 수가 매년 증가하고 있다. 그러나 유학생들이 학습 자원을 얻기 위한 가장 큰 정보원인 대학도서관은 유학생들을 위한 다국어 지원 서비스를 충분히 제공하고 있지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대학도서관에서 제공하는 서비스 중 다국어 지원이 가능한 서비스 요인들을 선정하고 해당 요인들이 유학생들의 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 선행연구를 바탕으로 사서/직원의 서비스(응답능력, 태도), 도서관 시설 이용(시설 안내, 장비 사용), 자료 접근 및 이용(홈페이지, 서가 배치), 이용자 서비스(이용자교육, 기타서비스)를 요인을 도출하였고 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 도서관 시설 이용이 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었으며 사서/직원의 서비스와 이용자 서비스 또한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Regional representative libraries are installing joint preservation archives to solve the problem of lack of preservation space in libraries. This study conducted a survey of public library librarians through a questionnaire survey and an FGI method in order to prepare specific operational policies and implementation plans for the Chungnam Library Joint Preservation Archive, which is a regional representative library. Based on this, an operation policy and implementation plan suitable for the common preservation and use of printed and digital data, which is the goal of the Common Preservation Archive, was proposed. As a result of the study, first, the joint preservation library of the Chungnam Library should first transfer books and serials along with ownership in consideration of the condition and demand of the preservation space of participating libraries. Second, it is necessary to establish an operation management system that can be used by all participating libraries in order to quickly and conveniently operate the joint preservation data center and connect it with a cloud-based integrated data management system. Third, a plan for digitizing and archiving data that was judged to be digitized in the Common Preservation Archive was proposed.

The purpose of this study is to activate the videorecordings in public libraries. The method of activation is to analysis of data which collected through questionnaire from respondent libraries. The results of the study are as follows : 1. The budget of videorecordings is absolutely short. 2 The acquisition policy of videorecordings is not planned because of short budget and little standard selection tool. 3. Most of public libraries wanted to exchange and use of videorecordings through interlibrary loan. 4. The subject of collected videorecordings was almost oriented to the education and motion pictures. 5. Specialized collection policy of public libraries in Pusan is not considered in videorecordings selection. 6. 87 percent of public libraries are not circulate videorecordings to the end-user. 7. Group watching planning of videorecordings in public libraries was done by monthly. 8. 70 percent of public libraries was not perform user reaction survey after watching. 9. 13 percent of public libraries has done the video tape recording of TV programming. 10. Most of public libraries had not a video to introduce themselves and user also had not a plan to create a video. 11. Most of public libraries recognized the copyright law but they wanted to reproduct the videorecordings for user with permission of authors.
