The study aimed to identify current situations of Korean church libraries. The results from 22 church libraries are investigated in terms of some factors such as material organization, quantity of materials, facilities, staffs, budgets, public services, users and classification systems. Current libraries are very small in its facility, quantity of the materials and the budget, and lack of the full-time librarian. Recently, children's libraries are established among small churches, and their budgets and public services are stable. Suggestions for revitalizing the church libraries are made: the pastor's understanding of the significance of church library for missions' sake, establishment of more church libraries, acquisitions of various non-book materials, budget security, necessity for a full-time librarian, provision of various types of services and cooperations among church libraries.

This study aims to investigate the current state of digital literacy education in Korean public libraries and suggest improvements. The education programs were analyzed, which are offered in the National Library of Korea and related social and educational institutions, in order to explore the digital literacy education program required for public libraries. An interview was conducted with 38 librarians of the regional central libraries. Respondents reported that a cooperative program for digital literacy education with national library is essential, due to the lack of the budget and digital literacy resources. Based on the analysis, a model of the National Digital Library Information Literacy Education and the cooperative programs for digital literacy education were proposed.

This study intends to make a comprehensive inquiry about the present state of digital resources in Korean libraries Emphasis was on analyzing types and characteristics Of digital resources Which libraries have collected, and on surveying how both reasonable and systematic access to theses resources is provided To the end, this study examined 108 university libraries' retrieval mechanism and bibliographic records of digital resources. The result of this study is expected to be utilized in preparing the strategies to overcome the problems and limitations in organizing practices of digital resources.

학술연구자들의 이용이 가장 빈번한 해외 고급 학술정보는 인터넷을 통하여 데이터베이스로 제공되고 있으며 이를 이용하고자 하는 학술연구자들의 수요도 날로 급증하고 있는 추세이다. 그러나 국내 대학도서관의 자료 구입 예산 비율이 매년 감소하고 있고 데이터베이스 도입에 따른 대학도서관의 조사 . 선정 . 협상을 위한 전문인력의 부재로 효율적인 학술 정보서비스의 제공을 저해하는 결과를 초래하고 있다. 본 연구는 해외학술 데이터베이스를 효율적으로 도입하기 위한 국내 대학도서관간 협동 체제를 확립하고 정보 수용기관인 대학도서관과 정보 공급기관인 데이터베이스 출판사 및 정보서비스 대행사의 요구를 조정하여 대학도서관이 필요로 하는 학술정보서비스를 효율적으로 지원할 수 있는 국가 주도적인 컨소시엄 모델을 개발, 제시하고자 한다.

To find out the status of document delivery and interlibrary loan services and the use of information technology in special libraries, questionnaires were sent to 328 special Libraries nation wide with at least 1 librarian, listed In the Korean Libraries Statistics 1994-1995(1996). $46.6\%$ were returned and 152 Questionnaires were analyzed. For document delivery, $61.3\%$ use BLDSC$47.5\%$ use KINITI. 87 libararies $(57.2\%)$ participate In interlibrary loan activities. To send requests, FAX and telephone is used the most, while FAX and print copy is used the most to receive the requested documents. $45-75\%$ use various information technology including online databases, Internet, e-mail, etc., and the use of information technology was related to the budget of the libraries. The costs, budgets, and slowness was the problems raised by the most. To improve the document delivery services, the most urgent thing is establishing cooperative system using BBS or Internet. Network systems to facilitate interlibrary loan should be established ultimately.

The purpose of this study is to survey the events which school libraries have practiced for reading education and to do the suggestions on the revitalization of events which are related to the reading education. The results of this study is like following; 1) Teacher-librarians should be employed to school libraries. 2) School libraries ought to make a plan for the events which are related to the reading and libraries and practice it. 3) School libraries have to inform the news according to reading education events through the webpage of school libraries. 4) The budget for reading education should be obtained. 5) The administrative assistance is needed for the reading education events. 6) Teacher-librarian should make the plans for reading education based on the social memorials.

This study introduces a new method for Logistics Cost Accounting in University Libraries. Logistics Cost is the cost that arises in the course of physical distribution and causes a serious in crease in the unit cost of a product. Therefore, Logistics Cost Accounting has been used in manufacturing industries to reduce the unit costs of products. There is a definite similarity between the operations of a business and a library. The operations of a business consist of purchasing, production, selling, which is similar to that of a library, where they are called acquisitions, cataloging, physical preparations and circulation. So Logistics Cost Accounting may be applied to a library. With this in mind, we made a model for Logistics Cost Accounting' in University Libraries. Therefore, it can be applied to many university libraries because it is a general model.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the present stage of children's services of public library in Korea. Data were collected from 171 public libraries and analysed according to five aspects of library services; physical aspect, collection, human resources, user services, and management and program. The results shows that budget, human resources for children's services should be increased and every local library authority should be on an active and effective way to services.

The study aims at discussing issues concerning the establishment of the cooperative repository libraries based on regional central libraries which not only support various types of regional libraries and conduct cooperative businesses with them, but also are responsible for collecting and preserving library materials. The study analyzes concepts and types of cooperative repository libraries by literature review and explores cooperative repository libraries in the United States. Futhermore, it conducts a survey and finds that the regional central libraries do not perform their preservation functions, due to the lack of their manpower and budget. As a result, the study provides an establishment plan for cooperative repository libraries which participant libraries hold ownership of transferred materials and regional central libraries own the right of management. Also, it suggests to expand cooperative repository libraries' service coverage from participants to regional communities.

This study is for a small sized library to expand the functions of public libraries in the community. This study aims to encourage local residents utilizing information and public libraries by opening parted facilities to public and naming it a substitute. It is expected to contribute to richer welfare system. In detail, the study discusses progression of the small sized library as well as budgeting and hiring staffs in Committee on Library and Policy. However, there is limitations in terms of capabilities because school library is different from public library target users, space, unit plans. Therefore, this study investigates a small sized library as a function to find out type, plan, and space availability and size of ideal open school library.
