  • PMS(Pavement Management System) has been developed and/or operated for the freeway and national highway systems in Korea. There is, however, no municipal PMS that is necessary in many cities for efficient management of their roadways. In this study, a municipal Prototype PMS is developed. The Prototype PMS is designed to be operated on PC base. It uses GIS interface for user friendliness that applies color graphics, text and distress pictures to display pavement conditions and rehabilitation information for both current and historical situations. The computer program of the prototype PMS consists of four major functions(inquiry, analysis, data management, and print). Especially, prioritization and M&R(Maintenance and Rehabilitation) alternative selection procedure is designed to be flexible so that the users can modify the decision criteria whenever it is necessary. Database items of the Prototype PMS is carefully selected for the objectives and size of municipal PMS. Reference point method is basically used for the location referencing in the Database. The unit section consists of each loom segment of the road for effective management.

  • In urban planning, road facility is used not only for the transportation purpose but also for the utility line space purpose such as electrical, gas, tele communication, heating, water, sewer, and so on. However, since these utilities are built by many different groups, it becomes very difficult to communicate each other. Delay in one party can cause another party's schedule delay but they don't commuicate often. Also, some delay in utility work can cause frequent pavement cut. And, this will impact on construction cost, schedule delay, low quality, user complain and cost. This study developed spatiotemporal decision model to prevent prequent utility cut for mega project such as new urban development project. In addition, this study developed utility cut management system to manage utility cut schedule under pavement. Finally, developed system was applied to new urban development project and verified there effectiveness.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the status of safety accidents and importance-performance analysis (IPA) between regular and non-regular employees in industry foodservices. Methods: The participants were regular employees (n = 119) and non-regular employees (n = 163) in industry foodservices in the Jeonbuk area. Demographic characteristics, status of safety accidents, safety education, and importance and performance status were assessed using a self-administered questionnaire. Results: Approximately 66.4% of regular employees and 53.4% of non-regular employees experienced safety accidents (p < 0.05). Types of safety accidents of regular and non-regular employees were mostly burns, and causes were mostly from their own negligence. Approximately 98.3% of regular employees and 95.1% of non-regular employees experienced safety education. Approximately 88.9% of regular employees and 96.8% of non-regular employees received safety education from dietitians. Approximately 41.9% of regular employees and 50.0% of non-regular employees had difficulty applying the contents of safety education due to lack of time during work. As a result of IPA, regular and non-regular employees were aware of the importance of the following and performed them well: 'Clean the floor of the work place', 'Arrange in the work area', 'Wear safety shoes', 'Check for heater cord', and 'Safety cooking when using oil'. On the other hand, they were not aware of the importance of the following and performed them insufficiently: 'Check for the MSDS', 'Aware of chemical signs', 'Wear protection gloves etc.', 'Do stretching exercise', and 'Using ancillary tools'. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to improve the consciousness of dietitians for effective application of safety education contents, development of contents, especially MSDS, and related things.

  • CCC-r chart is effective for high-quality processes with a very low fraction nonconforming. The values of process parameters should be estimated from the Phase I sample since they are often not known. However, if the Phase I sample size is not sufficiently large, an estimation error may occur when the parameter is estimated and the practitioner may not achieve the desired in-control performance. Therefore, we adjust the control limits of CCC-r charts using the bootstrap algorithm to improve the in-control performance of charts with smaller sample sizes. The simulation results show that the adjustment with the bootstrap algorithm improves the in-control performance of CCC-r charts by controlling the probability that the in-control average number of observations to signal (ANOS) has a value greater than the desired one.

  • In this study, the effects of infection control health beliefs and critical thinking tendencies of nursing students on infection control standards were investigated. This study collected and analyzed the data of 222 nursing students from the College of Nursing located in City A from June 2021 to July 2021. Data were collected according to IRB-approved contents, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 Statistics Program. The infection control health beliefs and critical thinking tendencies of nursing students affect the performance of standard infection control precautions(F=16.634, p<.001), and the explanatory power of the model was 22.0%. It is necessary to develop a nursing education program to improve health beliefs and critical thinking disposition and systematic and efficient infection control education to improve the performance of standard precautions for infection control of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the knowledge of and adherence to the infection control guidelines for indwelling urinary catheters, central venous catheters and ventilators among intensive care nurses. The subjects were 175 intensive care nurses working in 2 upper general hospitals and 3 general hospitals. Data were collected from July 1 to July 31, 2013. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA using SPSS 18.0 for Windows. The mean scores of the knowledge of the infection control guidelines on indwelling urinary catheters, central venous catheters and ventilators were 0.87, 0.82 and 0.82 points, respectively. The average scores for the adherence to the infection control guidelines for indwelling urinary catheters, central venous catheters and ventilators were 4.18, 4.04 and 4.07 points, respectively. Statistically significant correlations were found between the knowledge of and adherence to the infection control guidelines for indwelling urinary catheters (r=.72, p<.00), central venous catheters (r=.54, p<.001) and ventilators (r=.30, p<.001). The knowledge of and adherence to the infection control guidelines for indwelling urinary catheters differed significantly according to gender, educational status, total career, number of patients, type of hospital, and attendance of seminar. The knowledge of and adherence to the infection control guidelines for central venous catheters differed significantly according to educational status, total career, number of patients, type of hospital, and attendance of seminar. The knowledge level of the infection control guidelines for the ventilator differed significantly according to the total career. The results of this study indicate that education and training programs for improving the knowledge of adherence to the infection control guidelines should be developed.
