Development of the Expected Safety Performance Models for Rural Highway Segments (지방부 국도의 사고예측모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The past researches on roadway segment safety estimation focused on intersections, which are the primary traffic accident regions. The past researches on roadway segments, However, analyzed the effects of certain factors on the traffic accident occurrence rate by organizing the individual geometric structures of the roads, and there is still a dearth of researches on the development of a traffic accident estimation model for rural roadway segments. Therefore, this research focused on rural two-lane and multilane roadway segments and developed traffic accident estimation models through the application of statistical techniques. This is required to explain such high frequency of zero counts in the traffic accident data. In this research, it was found that the Hurdle model is more suitable than the Poisson or negative binomial-regression model for explaining the excess zeros case. In addition, main variables were chosen to estimate their effects on traffic accident occurrence at rural roadway segments, and the safety at such rural roadway segments was estimated. In this research, it was assumed that there are different factors that affect the safety at two-way lane and multilane roadway segments, and a traffic accident estimation model was developed by dividing the two-way lane and multilane roadway segments.

Study on Minimization of Environmental and Ecological Effects of Railroad Development considering the Distance from the Roads (도로와의 이격거리를 고려한 철도사업의 환경생태적 영향 최소화 방안에 대한 연구)

  • Railroads and roads are typical linear projects, and their networks are expanding nationwide. To minimize the impact of their development on the environment, ecological disconnection due to the parallel lines of railroads and roads is to be avoided as much as possible. In this study, to examine the environmental impact of railroad and road development, the characteristics of railroads and roads and the differences between them were examined through a comparative analysis of key evaluation items. Based on the result, the road development, unlike the railroad project, suggests items for establishing an efficient land use plan and soil protection as the key evaluation items. There are no specific evaluation items and criteria that can be used to examine the environmental impact of railroad lines located adjacent to roads. In this study, eight evaluation items were suggested by reviewing the relevant literature. In particular, in the strategic environmental impact assessment stage, which examines the adequacy and location feasibility of the plan, the minimum separation distance criteria were proposed to examine in advance the environmental impact of railroads located adjacent to the existing roads. The distances were examined for the previously operated routes, and a distance of less than 200 m was suggested to minimize the environmental impact. The results were compared with those in other studies and analyzed. The results of this study can be used as a basis for examining alternative routes that can minimize the environmental impact of adjacent railroads and roads.

Study of Road Load of Electric Two-Wheeled Vehicle (전기이륜차의 도로부하 설정에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the demand of environmentally friendly transportation has increased due to the environmental issues. Electric two-wheeled vehicles do not have the noise pollution nor exhaust gases of vehicles with internal combustion engines. Performance evaluation of an electric two-wheeled vehicle was carried out. A driving test on outdoor roads was performed and a chassis dynamometer was used. The chassis dynamometer simulates the road load of the vehicle. The road load influences the tests using the chassis dynamometer. The differences between the table method and the coasting test for setting the road load was compared and analyzed.

  • 지금까지 1940년대부터 최근까지 건설된 미국의 시험도로에 대한 목적과 주요특징 등에 대해 알아보았다. 과거와 다르게 최근 건설된 시험도로들은 크게 도로 본선 옆에 시공한 시험도로의 형태와 시험 주로 형식의 루프구간으로 이루어져 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 시험주로에서는 포장재료 영향 평가를 목적으로, 시험도로에서는 포장층의 구조적 영향을 파악하기 위한 것으로 판단된다. 표 4는 최근 미국에서 건설된 시험도로를 간략하게 요약한 것이다.

  • According to the present highway design criteria, there are minimum standards which re ade from special design speeds. If some highways are satisfied the standards, it regards he highway as safety. In reality, however, most drivers drive a car at different speed compared with design speed. It is very dangerous for drivers especially at transition sections between curve and horizontal curve sections. Hence, this study calculated the rate of changing and horizontal acceleration at each section. Moreover, this study evaluated thesafety of design at curve transition sections and then calculated lateral acceleration and curve radii. This study found the minimum standards which are using as basic safety standards are not appropriate for measuring driver's safety.

  • 기존의 정밀시스템 구축방법은 시스템 개발 위주에만 치우쳐 있어 정보화에 대한 평가를 포함하지 않거나, 시스템 운영의 범위 내에서 정보화의 실효성 평가만을 강조하여 정밀시스템의 일부분에만 한정되어 있다. 이러한 기존 연구의 대부분인 개념수준의 연구로 실용화를 위란 'how'를 제시하지 못하고 있으며, 특히 조직의 목표와 정보화수준간의 연관관계를 정 립하지 못함에 따라 정밀화에 따른 실질적인 효과를 나타내지 못하는 단점이 있다. 아울러 평가결과 활용에 대한 체계적인 모형을 제시하지 못함에 따라 평가결과가 정보화 구현단계로 다시 회귀되지 못하고 잇다 따라서 급변하는 정보화 추세에 부응하고 기존연구의 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 체계적인고 과학적인 통합 정밀시스템의 개발이 필요시 되고 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 정밀화를 통한 진취적 성능향상을 목표로 정보화 한국도로공사 도로교통기술원의 도로기술 정밀화 모형을 설계하고 구현하고자 한다.

  • 도로상에서 발생되는 교통사고의 많은 부분이 도로의 선형불량에 기인된다. 이러한 도로의 개량설계를 위하여서는 도로의 선형을 정확히 분석할 필요가 있으며, 도로의 설계도와 주요점의 좌표가 필요하게 된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 현재 많이 연구되고 있는 인공위성중 RTK GPS/GLONASS의 조합에 의하여 획득된 3차원 자료를 기존 설계도의 제원을 근거로 하여 위치정밀도를 비교하며, 이렇게 재현된 도로의 선형을 평가함으로써 인공위성을 이용한 도로의 선형정보체계를 보다 효율적이고 실용적으로 사용하기 위한 한 접근방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This research presents the structural performance and an improving technique for flexural capacity of road safety facilities based on the damage cases by wind pressure. Among road safety facilities, a support frame of soundproofing walls is considered as a prototype structure and its corresponding structural behaviors and section design are performed mainly by analytical and experimental studies. On the basis of analytical results, glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) with an epoxy matrix which is high stiffness-to-weight ratio was used for applied one of strengthening techniques and their results shows that support frame strengthened by GFRP is the most effective compared to other cases proposed in this research for advancing its flexural improvement, Finally, optimum section design was performed analytically to evaluate wind-resistance capacity and its result would be very useful for developing a practical design guideline for Road safety facilities under strong wind.

  • Generally, the method of the policy analysis has been used for making a policy decision of the development project of the road through the expert interview based on AHP. According to introducing PI, the study of the method of the integrating process for various opinion of the related groups is required. On this study I evaluate what is a difference between the results of integrated process and the AHP analysis on what is major considering factor in decision-making process. From the analysis, each evaluate factor is in level of significance by ANOVA. First, there is a significance level difference between Group A, C and Group B Second, there is also a significance level difference on the result of AHP analysis for each group in order to evaluate by integrated method. Finally, the method of AHP analysis which considers priority factor is expected as to be useful tool on decision-making of various group.
