Correlation between Proximity Noise Measurement Method (CPX) and Roadside Measurement Method (SPB) for Road Traffic Noise (도로교통소음에 대한 근접소음 측정법(CPX)과 통과소음 측정법(SPB)의 상관관계)

  • Korea estimates the traffic noise by measuring the total traffic noise when the traffic passes (SPB; Statistical Pass-By). Another method (CPX; Close Proximity) directly measures the tire/road noise by installing a microphone near the tire. The CPX method is not a formal test method in Korea. There has been little research between CPX and SPB. This study proposes a method for estimating SPB, using the CPX, which is easy to measure. This study used the results of a large-scale test conducted by Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) and a research paper on CPX in this section. The results by the KEC showed that the low noise pavement has a noise reduction of 10.4dB. In CPX research, the noise reduction was 10.7dB and was similar to 10.4dB in SPB. This study shows why the noise reduction is the same regardless of the position, the reason that the amount of noise reduction is similar, the difference of the noise according to the position of the microphone using the concept of noise summation and distance reduction. This study shows that including the CPX as a variable in the traffic noise prediction program is very important to improve noise prediction reliability.

  • Weather acts through low visibility, precipitation, high winds, and temperature extremes to affect driver capabilities, vehicle performance (i.e., traction, stability and maneuverability), pavement friction, roadway infrastructure, crash risk, traffic flow, and agency productivity. Recently a variety of road weather big data sources such as CCTV, road sensor/systems, car sensor have been developed to solve the weather-related problems, This study identifies and defines the types and characteristics of these sources to suggest how to utilize them for car safety and efficiency as well as road management through analyzing domestic and oversea cases of road weather big data applications.

  • Recently, road subsidence has been increasing in urban areas, threatening the safety of citizens. In the lower part of the road, various road facilities such as water supply and drainage pipelines and telecommunication facilities are buried, and the deterioration of the facilities causes the road subsidence. In particular, in the case of old sewer pipes which are attracting attention as a main cause of road subsidence, the management of sewer pipe replacement, repair and reinforcement is being performed depending on the burial year. Therefore, in this study, we tried to suggest a reliable road subsidence risk assessment method considering various sewer specifications and surrounding environment information and CCTV exploration result and GPR exploration result.

A Survey On Speed-Flow Relationship Under Congested Conditions (과포화교통류에서 속도-교통량 관계에 관한 조사연구)

  • 기존 도로시설을 최대로 이용하고 교통의 흐름을 질적으로 향상시키기 위해서는 과포화 상태를 고려한 교통시설운영방법을 개선할 필요가 있다. 속도-교통량관계는 교통시설운영의 평가와 서비스수준 산정을 위한 주요 판단기준이 된다. 본 논문에서는 경부고속도로 종점부 구간의 현장조사를 통해 과포화상태의 속도-교통량 관계를 조사 분석하였고 그 결과 다음 몇 가지 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 한국도로용량편람을 비롯한 우리 나라 연구결과는 일반적으로 50km/hr 일 때 용량상태가 나타난다고 알려져 있으나 본 조사결과에 의하면 약 85km/hr 정도에서 용량상태가 발생함을 관측할 수 있었다. 둘째, 과포화구간에서 속도에 따른 통과교통량 증감추이는 대기행렬 증가시 급격한 속도-교통량의 감소가 있는 반면에 대기행렬해소시 속도-교통량의 증가는 완만하게 회복됨을 보였다. 셋째, Ontario 고속도로의 경우와 본 조사연구결과는 비교해본 결과 과포화시 한국의 경우 미국과 동일한 통행속도에서 더 많은 교통량이 통행하는 것으로 확인되었다.

Experimental Study on Capacity Variation of Paving Materials with TiO2 in Wet Condition (광촉매 이산화티타늄(TiO2)을 혼합한 도로 포장재의 습윤 조건에서의 성능 변화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study aims to present the practical Nitrogen monoxide (NO) removal capacity of cement mortar with Titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) which is one of the paving materials by considering the environment of pavement in urban areas. NO removal capacity test under designated conditions of humidity of inflow gas and the test with variation of the degree of saturation of specimen were conducted. In the test for humidity, dry specimen is subject to the test and NO removal ratio was observed. Humidity-NO removal ratio curve is a log normal distribution in shape, and the maximum NO removal ratio appears at specific humidity. NO removal capacity test relying on the degree of saturation was carried out with wet specimen to reflect the unsaturated pavement by rainfall and domestic sewage. Wet specimen presents less NO removal capacity than dry specimen and the recovering evolution of NO removal capacity follows evaporation. Moreover, $TiO_2$ under the specific depth of specimen hardly contributes to NO removal capacity.

Development of Prediction Method for Highway Pavement Condition (포장상태 예측방법 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Prediction the performance of pavement provides proper information to an agency on decision-making process; especially evaluating the pavement performance and prioritizing the work plan. To date, there are a number of approaches to predict the future deterioration of pavements. However, there are some limitation to proper prediction of the pavement service life. In this paper, pavement performance model and pavement condition prediction model are developed in order to improve pavement condition prediction method. The prediction model of pavement condition through the regression analysis of real pavement condition is based on the probability distribution of pavement condition, which set to 5%, 15%, 25% and 50%, by condition of the pavement and traffic volume. The pavement prediction model presented from the behavior of individual pavement condition which are set to 5%, 15%, 25% and 50% of probability distribution. The performance of the prediction model is evaluated from analyzing the average, standard deviation of HPCI, and the percentage of HPCI which is lower than 3.0 of comparable section. In this paper, we will suggest the more rational method to determine the future pavement conditions, including the probabilistic duration and deterministic modeling methods regarding the impact of traffic volume, age, and the type of the pavement.

  • Pavement evaluation is a fundamental component for rational pavement management. Optimal rehabilitation method and the priority of rehabilitation should be based on the evaluation data. Some types of pavement condition index are needed for objective evaluation of Pavement condition and management of road network. In this study a expressway concrete pavement condition index model is developed through regression analysis that correlates panel rating with distress measurement from the test sections. The derived condition index can be used for network level PMS for the expressway concrete pavement. Correlation coefficient of the model was 0.68. The selected independent variables were International Roughness Index, crack and area of patching.

Improving the Performance of a Speech Recognition System in a Vehicle by Distinguishing Male/Female Voice (성별 구별방법에 의한 자동차 내 음성 인식 성능 향상)

  • 본 논문은 주행중인 자동차 환경에서 운전자의 안전성 및 편의성의 동시 확보를 위하여, 보조적인 스위치 조작 없이 상시 음성의 입, 출력이 가능한 시스템을 제안하였다. 이대 잡음에 강인한 threshold 값을 구하기 위하여, 1.5초마다 기준 에너지와 영 교차율을 변경하였으며 대역 통과 여과기를 이용하여 1차, 2차로 나누어 실시간 상태에서 자동으로, 정확하게 끝점 검출을 처리하였다. 또한 남성, 여성을 피치검출로 구분하여 모델을 선택하게 하였고, 주행중인 자동차 속도에 따라 가장 적합한 모델을 사용하기 위하여 Idle-40km, 40-80km, 80-100km로 구분하여 남성, 여성 모델을 각각 구분하여 인식할 수 있게 하였다. 그리고, 음성의 특징 벡터와 인식 알고리즘은 PLP 13차와 OSDP(one-Stage Dynamic Programming)을 사용하였다. 본 실험은 서울시내 도로 및 내부 순환도로에서 각각 속도별로 구분하여 화자독립 인식 실험을 한 결과 40-80km 상태에서 남자는 96.8%, 여자는 95.1%, 80-100km 상태에서는 남자 91.6%, 여자는 90.6%의 인식결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 화자종속 인식실험 결과 40-80km 상태에서 남자는 98%, 여자는 96%, 80-100km 상태에서는 남자는 96%, 여자는 94%의 높은 인식률을 얻었으므로, system의 유효성을 입증하였다.

제일원리 계산에 의한 Fe/Pt (001) 표면의 평형 구조 및 자기이방성 연구

  • 제일원리 계산으로 Fe/Pt (001) 표면의 표면상태도를 계산하고 표면상태도로 부터 얻어진 평형 Fe/Pt (001) 표면구조의 자기이방성에너지를 계산하였음. 계산된 표면상태도로 부터 Fe-rich $L1_2$ 구조와 수직 $L1_0$ 구조가 가장 안정한 표면 Fe/Pt (001) 구조임이 밝혀졌음. 제일원리로 계산 된 두 구조의 자기이방성에너지를 관측하여 두 구조의 자기용이축이 모두 [001] 방향으로 정렬 됨을 확인하였다. 자기이방성에너지가 격자 변화와 표면 형성 중 어떤 원인에 의해 발생하는지 판단하기 위해서 표면구조, 벌크구조, 및 표면구조와 동일한 격자상수를 가진 벌크구조를 비교 하였다. 비교 결과에 의해 자기이방성에너지의 주 원인은 표면 형성임이 밝혀졌으며 이를 좀 더 명확히 하기위해 상태밀도함수를 계산하였다. 상태밀도함수 계산 결과 Fe 원자의 $3d_{z2}$ 오비탈의 페르미 준위 아래에서의 상태가 표면이 형성되면서 증가하는 것을 관측하였으며 이는 [001] 방향으로의 자기이방성을 증가시키는 오비탈이므로 표면 형성에 따른 자기이방성에너지 증가는 Fe 원자의 $3d_{z2}$ 오비탈에 의함이 판명되었다.

Vehicle Behavior Characteristics According to the Change of Vehicle Speed and Road Vertical Grades (차량속도와 도로의 종단경사 변화에 따른 차량거동 특성)

  • When a vehicle is running on the road, the surface conditions and environment of road by reason of insufficient road design standards is so greatly that have an effect on drivers. In particular, the road design of the past is conducted empirical and ideal judgment, but recently, the new technical development is attempted that three and four dimensional parameters is reconsidering and adjusting at the same time. In this study, we analyzed the vehicle behavior characteristics according to the change of driving speed and vertical grades on braking at the peak point of the frozen road by using a PC-crash program for traffic accident reconstruction. As a result, we were conformed the fact that the friction coefficient of road surface and the vehicle speed is affected by vehicle behavior characteristics for intersection vertical grades and were showed the feasibility of verification through a simulation in order to solve the problem of road design in advance.
