  • Based on recent studies, the side resistance of rock socketed drilled shafts was affected by unconfined compressive strength of rock, socket roughness, rock types and joints, and initial normal stress. Especially, the socket roughness was affected by rock types and joints, drilling methods, and diameters of pile. In this study, a new roughness measurement system (BKS-LRPS, Backyoung-KyungSung Laser Roughness Profiling System) usable in water was developed. Based on the laboratory model tests, an EMD (Effective Measurement Distances) according to various turbidity was proposed as $EMD=1149.2{\times}T_{b}^{-0.64}$.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the safety issue of the tinted vehicle based on the field study as well as the issue of the capacity reduction from the tinted vehicle. Through this study, an innovative experimental method to verify the issues was developed using RTK GPS receivers, and a data collection was conducted using the developed experimental method. Using the collected data, the effects of the ahead vehicle with the windows tinted on the traffic condition such as headways and acceleration noise were analyzed to test that the ahead vehicle with windows tinted too darkly affects the increasing vehicle maneuver as following the degree of tinting. This study was conducted as a frontier study and more studies, for example, full scale analyses considering various road and vehicle conditions need to be conducted in the future.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach by analyzing driver behavior and gaze changes within the vehicle in real-time to assess and predict the risk of traffic accidents. Utilizing data analysis and machine learning algorithms, this research precisely measures drivers' abnormal behaviors and gaze movement patterns in real-time, and aggregates these into an overall Risk Score to evaluate the potential for traffic accidents. This research underscores the significance of internal factors, previously unexplored, providing a novel perspective in the field of traffic safety research. Such an innovative approach suggests the feasibility of developing real-time predictive models for traffic accident prevention and safety enhancement, expected to offer critical foundational data for future traffic accident prevention strategies and policy formulation.

  • According to the Korean Road Traffic Act, continuous driving in the overtaking lane (1 lane) of the highway is judged as a violation of the designated lane. Currently, in order to crack down on the advanced situation on the highway, a citizen's report or the road police directly determine whether it is a violation and crack down. This is because a violation is judged by overtaking or not the speed of the vehicle on the highway, and it is difficult to judge whether the vehicle is continuously driving because the standard is ambiguous in CCTV. Therefore, a system that self-determines and regulates whether the first lane is continuously driving without human intervention is needed. In this paper, in order to enable multiple object tracking during object tracking and to ensure the system's real-time feasibility, an unmanned crackdown system was designed based on F-SORT (Focused-Simple Online and Realtime Tracking) based on the Simple Online and Realtime Tracking (SORT) model, and the system determines whether or not the vehicle is continuously driving in one lane by determining the moving distance of the vehicle

  • Single-mode spectral analysis method is usually applied to a small-scale bridges with the simple geometric shape and uses only fundamental period to estimate the elastic earthquake forces and the displacements of the substructure. On the other hand, multi-mode spectral analysis method may be used instead if the possibilities of potential damage are developed when considering significance, scale, and geometric shape of briages. Since the dynamic responses of bridge can be significantly different depending on the modeling techniques for the restraint and support conditions etc, it may be misled to the unexpected results. In this study the dynamic analysis program which can model and analyze the bridge as a two- or three-dimensional framed structure is developed and verified with the results of other reliable program. Using this program together with the post processor, the designer can easily and readily obtain the reponses(moments, base shears, and displacements)of bridges necessary to design purpose. And further from the analysis results according to the variations of type, scale, and restraint and supprot conditions of bridges including sectional properties, applications of the effective and desirable seismic design are presented.

  • This study is aimed at the effective measurement plan of discontinuity orientation on rock mass. The discontinuity orientation is expressed as three methods. strike/dip. dipdirection/dip (a three digit number / a two digit number) and right hand rule. Generally, strike/dip is measured with clinometer. and dipdirection/dip with silva compass(type15). A sign of strike/dip. discontinuity orientation is used to geological survey. and dipdirection/dip to engineering. Dipdirection/dip converted by strike/dip measured with clinometer is useful on the statistical analysis of a lot of data. To measure the azimuth of the dip with clinometer and to change strike/dip to dipdirection/dip may have potential errors in each person. The newly designed apparatus, clinometer equipped by a rotational azimuth plate and an arrow to measuring strike and dipdirection, has been developed to measure effectively the discontinuity orientation with two method (strike/dip and dipdirection/dip). The measuring method of discontinuity orientation with clinometer having newly designed apparatus is effective one for accurate measurement of strike as well as dipdirection which is degrees counted clockwise from true north. Used by clinometer with newly designed apparatus, concurrent measuring strike/dip and dipdirecton/dip of discontinuity is possible. In application to measuring discontinuity orientation on rock slope, it has been recognized that the newly designed method, unambiguously, led to drop measuring errors comparing with existing measuring apparatuses. Therefore, it is considered that measuring method of discontinuity orientation (strike/dip and dipdirecton/dip) by the newly designed apparatus is useful to one in geological engineering investigation of road design, and to unskilled investigator.

  • The structure such as underground external walls of buildings, conduit and box culvert supports the surcharge loads (point, strip and line loads) . The vertical and horizontal stresses in a soil mass depend on the backfill width and wall friction, etc. The investigations described in this paper is designed to identify the magnitude and the distributions of the lateral and vertical pressure which is occurred by the narrowly backfilled soil in an open cut by the surcharge loads. For these purposes, model tests were performed for various width of backfill in a model test box by considering the wall friction using carbon rods. The results of test were compared with the theories of Weissenbach and VS Army Code and also with the results of the numerical analysis using finite difference method which introduces Mohr-Coulomb failure hypothesis.

  • There are many large-scale coastal region landfill and land development by loading to use territory efficiently, this regions are mostly soft clay ground. Constructing structures and road on the soft ground bring about engineering problems like ground shear fracture and a big amount of consolidation by bearing capacity. Improvement of soft soil is required to secure soil strength and settlement control. In improvement of soft soil, predict for the amount of settlement based on field surveyed reports are important element for estimating pre-loading banking height and the final point of consolidation. In this study, there is calculating theoretical settlement by analyzing field surveyed report and ground investigation to improvement of soft soil with pre-loading and vertical drain method. And present settlement prediction method reflect soil characteristics in Gimpo Hangang site by analysing prediction settlement and observational settlement during compaction using hyperbolic, ${\sqrt{s}}$, Asaoka method.

  • A collision-free trajectory planning algorithm using an iterative learning concept is proposed for dual robot arms in a 3-D common workspace to accurately follow their specified paths with constant velocities. Specifically, a collision-free trajectory minimizing the trajectory error is obtained first by employing the linear programming technique. Then the total operating time is iteratively adjusted based on the maximum trajectory error of the previous iteration so that the collision-free trajectory has no deviation from the specified path and also that the operating time is near-minimal. To show the validity of the proposed algorithm, a numerical example is presented based on two planar robots.

It is different from classical route search and noticed thinking method of human. Appraisal element, weight, appraisal value of route is extracted from basic of the opinion gathering fur the driving expert and example of route model was used for the finding of practice utility. Model assessment was performed attribute membership function making of estimate element, estimate value setting, weight define by the AHP, non additive presentation of weight according to $\lambda$-fuzzy measure, Choquet fuzzy integral.
