Effect of Organic Lubricant Film on Various Properties of Galvannealed Steel Sheets (합금화용융아연도금강판의 품질특성에 미치는 유기윤활피막의 영향)

  • New lubricant film of organic and inorganic composite resin was developed to improve the press formability of galvannealed steel sheets (GA) for automotive body panels. The frictional coefficient of lubricant GA steel sheets is about 20% superior to that of uncoated GA. The current range of spot welding of lubricant GA is similar to that of the uncoated GA, but the burning trace of spot welding is inferior to that of the uncoated GA in the oiling condition. The alkaline degreasability of lubricant GA shows 100% in alkaline degreasing condition of automotive company. The size and shape of the phosphated coating layer are similar to those of the uncoated GA sheet. The powdering property of the lubricant GA gives rise to 20∼50% improved property compared with the uncoated GA sheet.

Molybdate Chemical Conversion Coating of Electro-Galvanized Steel (전기아연도금 강판의 몰리브데이트 화성처리)

  • Molybdate chemical conversion coating layer formed on EGI has been studied in view of corrosion resistance, surface morphologies, and phases formed. It was found that coating layer consists of$ MoO_3$, $MoO_2$, Mo oxides having lower valences than 4 and ZnO. It is interesting to note that the coating layer formed at high Mo concentration (30 g/l) in the temperature range of $40-60^{\circ}C$ exhibited relatively high corrosion resistance, although thickness of coating layer is nearly identical with those formed under the other conditions. It was believed that an increase of driving force due to high Mo concentration plays an important role in the formation of corrosion-resistant coating layer, probably due to tile formation of dense coating layer.

ELF Shielding Effectiveness of Ni Electrodeposited Steel Sheets (Ni도금강판의 극저주파 차폐 특성)

  • In order to enhance the electromagnetic shielding efficiency of commercialized cold-rolled steel sheets, we have prepared Ni deposited steel sheets by the electrodeposition method. Surface alloying with Ni and Fe was achieved on a steel sheet by diffusion annealing process. Shielding effectiveness measurement results showed that annealed Ni electrodeposited steel sheets enhanced the shielding efficiency up to about 3 dB in the frequency range of 20 to 200Hz, compared with that of non-deposited steel sheets.

  • 점 용접부는 응력상태가 복잡하고, 피로균열은 판 두께, 너겟 직경, 용접 타점수, 부하 방식 등의 역학적인 인자와 재질, 화학성분, 표면 상태 등의 재료적인 인자, 그리고 용접전류, 가압력, 통전 시간등의 용접적인 인자의 영향을 동시에 받으며 3차원적으로 성장하므로 균열 성장 모드는 항상 혼합보드이고 균열이 박판 내면에서 발생. 성장하므로 검출이 곤란하여 균열 성장의 해석 및 예측이 어렵다/sup 1)/. 따라서 비접촉, 실시간, Whole-field, 레이저 파장 단위까지 측정이 가능하여 기존의 방법들의 문제점을 극복할 수 있고, 반도체와 같은 소형의 제품뿐만 아니라 기존에 측정하지 못했던 초고온, 대형 구조물의 변형도 정확하게 측정을 할 수 있는 ESPI법을 이용하여 일반가전 제품, 자동차 건축용에 많이 사용되고 있는 아연도금강판(SGCC)을 선택하여 단일 용접조건으로 점용접의 피치를 변화시켜 시험편을 제작하고 면외변위를 다각도로 측정하여 그 가능성을 검증하고자 한다.(중략)

  • The effect of the additives on the Zn-Ni alloy electrocrystallization from a chloride bath was investigated by means of electrochemical methodes, scanning electron microscopy and measurement of surface appearancd, X-ray diffraction patterns. The additives thestd ware the Saccharin, surfactant of naptalene-derivative and mixed additive, The resistance of electrodeposit increased by adding the additives, whera the effect of additives on resistance was different with current density roughness, apperarance and morphology of deposit were also influenced by the type of additive. The deposir with fine, compact grains as well as good surface roughness and appearance was obtained from the mixed-additive added bath.

  • Gas wiping process of continuously hot-dip galvanized coating on steel strip has noise and coating problems. To improve the qualify of product, characteristics of air flow on the steel surface must be investigated. In this paper, fluid dynamic model of the gas flow is setup and solved numerically using STAR-CD. The effects of edge baffle, distance between steel plane edge and baffle, inlet pressure, and gap between air knife and strip steel surface are investigated, and it is concluded that edge baffle can reduce over-coating and edge built-up.

  • The mechanism of the blowhole and the pit formation in lap-jointed fillet CO₂ arc welds of Zn-coated steel sheet was established by the direct observation of the gas behavior in the molten pool with the high speed camera system. Main conclusions obtained are as follows1) Some blowholes were formed by incomplete back-filling to the pits at the last stage of the solidification. This type of blowhole was formed through four stages of gas in the molten pool, incubation, explosion, back-filling and completion of back-filling stage.2) Most of the pits was back-filled at the last stage of their formation.   • The resistance spot welding process has been extensively used for joining of sheet metals, which are subject to variation of many process variables. Many qualitive analyses of sampled process variables have been attempted to predict nugget size. In this paper, dynamic resistance and electrode movement signal which is a good indicative of the nugget size was examined by introducing an artificial neural network estimator. An artificial neural feedforward network with back-propagation of error was applied for the estimation of the nugget size. The prediction by the neural network is in good agreement with the actual nugget size for resistance spot welding of galvanized steel. The results are quite promising in that the quantitative estimation of the invisible nugget size can be achieved without conventional destructive testing of welds.

  • A severe strip vibration in continuous galvanizing line facilities of the steel companies has sometimes occurred due to the exceeding wearing of the roll bush and bearing. This vibration brings on the lack of uniform coating thickness in steel plate. As a result, the total maintenance and product costs in this factory are increased by the shortage of operation time for the replacement of bush, bearings and these components. In this study, the vibration characteristics of this strip are investigated by the FEM using ANSYS. Also the vibration measurement of strip and its structure performed by the laser Doppler vibrometer(LDV) and accelerometers are compared to theoretical analysis results.
