Mobile Gesture Recognition using Dynamic Time Warping with Localized Template (지역화된 템플릿기반 동적 시간정합을 이용한 모바일 제스처인식)

  • Recently, gesture recognition methods based on dynamic time warping (DTW) have been actively investigated as more mobile devices have equipped the accelerometer. DTW has no additional training step since it uses given samples as the matching templates. However, it is difficult to apply the DTW on mobile environments because of its computational complexity of matching step where the input pattern has to be compared with every templates. In order to address the problem, this paper proposes a gesture recognition method based on DTW that uses localized subset of templates. Here, the k-means clustering algorithm is used to divide each class into subclasses in which the most centered sample in each subclass is employed as the localized template. It increases the recognition speed by reducing the number of matches while it minimizes the errors by preserving the diversities of the training patterns. Experimental results showed that the proposed method was about five times faster than the DTW with all training samples, and more stable than the randomly selected templates.

Statistical Ranking Recommendation System of Hangul-to-Roman Conversion for Korean Names (한글-로마자 인명 변환의 통계적 순위 추천 시스템)

  • This paper focuses on the Hangul-to-roman conversion of Korean names. The proposed method recognizes existing notation and provides results according to the frequency of use. There are two main reasons for the diversity in Hangul-to-roman name conversion. The first is the indiscreet use of varied notation made domestically and overseas. The second is the customary notation of current notation. For these reasons, it has become possible to express various Roman characters in Korean names. The system constructs and converts data from 4 million people into a statistical dictionary. In the first step, the person's name is judged through a process matching the last name. In the second step, the first name is compared and converted in the statistical dictionary. In the last step, the syllables in the name are compared and converted, and the results are ranked according to the frequency of use. This paper measured the performance compared to the existing service systems on the web. The results showed a somewhat higher performance than other systems.

Robust 2D Feature Tracking in Long Video Sequences (긴 비디오 프레임들에서의 강건한 2차원 특징점 추적)

  • Feature tracking in video frame sequences has suffered from the instability and the frequent failure of feature matching between two successive frames. In this paper, we propose a robust 2D feature tracking method that is stable to long video sequences. To improve the stability of feature tracking, we predict the spatial movement in the current image frame using the state variables. The predicted current movement is used for the initialization of the search window. By computing the feature similarities in the search window, we refine the current feature positions. Then, the current feature states are updated. This tracking process is repeated for each input frame. To reduce false matches, the outlier rejection stage is also introduced. Experimental results from real video sequences showed that the proposed method performs stable feature tracking for long frame sequences.

A Spelling Error Correction Model in Korean Using a Correction Dictionary and a Newspaper Corpus (교정사전과 신문기사 말뭉치를 이용한 한국어 철자 오류 교정 모델)

  • With the rapid evolution of the Internet and mobile environments, text including spelling errors such as newly-coined words and abbreviated words are widely used. These spelling errors make it difficult to develop NLP (natural language processing) applications because they decrease the readability of texts. To resolve this problem, we propose a spelling error correction model using a spelling error correction dictionary and a newspaper corpus. The proposed model has the advantage that the cost of data construction are not high because it uses a newspaper corpus, which we can easily obtain, as a training corpus. In addition, the proposed model has an advantage that additional external modules such as a morphological analyzer and a word-spacing error correction system are not required because it uses a simple string matching method based on a correction dictionary. In the experiments with a newspaper corpus and a short message corpus collected from real mobile phones, the proposed model has been shown good performances (a miss-correction rate of 7.3%, a F1-measure of 97.3%, and a false positive rate of 1.1%) in the various evaluation measures.

  • In this study, A BED(Binary ECG description) based binary ECG conversion system is that supports the conversion of a binary ECG format into XML-based HL7 aECG for interoperability of ECG. HL7 aECG is a XML based standard lot interoperability of ECG waveform. However, it is difficult for beginners to write the BED document of binary BED conversion system in XML. We implement a BED Studio on the Java Servlet engine that allows beginners to write BED documents more easily. Our system consists of three parts: Visual Editor, Text Editor, and Format Checking Viewer. Format Checking Viewer support users to detect the format errors in the XML files, so-called BED documents, that describe the data format of the targer binary ECG file in the BED-based binary ECG conversion system, so may reduce the format errors in BED documents.

  • An on-board truck scale is an essential technical solution for preventing overload, which makes the driver aware of the commercial vehicle weight. This study analyzed the effects of the driving pattern and transportation efficiency by the IoT Platform service for an on-board truck scale. A comparison of before and after installation using the long-term monitored data confirmed the reduction effects both of the overload ratio and overweight value, and their effects on increasing the transportation efficiency. In addition, the analysis result of the driving route showed that the installation of an on-board truck scale could be a more effective way of preventing overload than increasing the weighing checkpoints.

  • In this paper proposes the latest network-assisted online telemedicine service to coincide with the point being discussed for health care providers to match patients, patients with personalized medical service support system. In order to design the system, to understand the requirements of the patient personalized medical support service system, the data were normalized and were designed architecture client server structure. Further, in order to implement the system that was designed to define the structure of server and client, ontology repository, we implement the system. In this paper, as a result of the test by creating a scenario and prerequisites for testing patient personalized medical service support system that is design and implementation, selecting a patient's condition, department of symptoms by the selected but it was confirmed that the inference is, inference medical institutions that fits department inferred one following upon the items medical patient has the required.

An Iris Detection Algorithm for Disease Prediction based Iridology (홍채학기반이 질병예측을 위한 홍채인식 알고리즘)

  • Iris diagnosis is an alternative medicine to diagnose the disease of the patient by using different of the iris pattern, color and other characteristics. This paper proposed a disease prediction algorithm that using the iris regions that analyze iris change to using differential image of iris image. this method utilize as patient's health examination according to iris change. Because most of previous studies only find a sign pattern in a iris image, it's not enough to be used for a iris diagnosis system. We're developed an iris diagnosis system based on a iris images processing approach, It's presents the extraction algorithms of 8 major iris signs and correction manually for improving the accuracy of analysis. As a result, PNSR of applied edge detection image is about 132, and pattern matching area recognition presented practical use possibility by automatic diagnostic that presume situation of human body by iris about 91%.

  • The research objectives investigates main research topics and trends in the information and communication technology(ICT) field, Korea using LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation), one of the topic modeling techniques. The experimental dataset of ICT research and development(R&D) project of 5,200 was acquired through matching with the EZone system of IITP after downloading R&D project dataset from NTIS(National Science and Technology Information Service) during recent five years. Consequently, our finding was that the majority research topics were found as intelligent information technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT, and the main research trends was hyper realistic media. Finally, it is expected that the research results of topic modeling on the national R&D foundation dataset become the powerful information about establishment of planning and strategy of future's research and development in the ICT field.

  • With a view to building up a program used in conceptual design of liquid rocket engine system, a preliminary performance-based code for an integrated engine system has been developed by incorporating sub-modular programs for each essential engine component. Modular descriptions for each component were formulated mathematically with essential parameters. In the whole iterative circuits for predicting engine performance, matching conditions of mass flow rate and pressure drop through each engine component have been considered. Mass balance calculations at each inter-component boundary are found smoothly converged. All the pressure drops through engine components as a function of mass flow rate are added up to provide turbo-pump outlet condition. In this paper, the flow chart for each iterative circuit and design methodologies are presented. Resultant predictions are validated with real engine data.
