Design of Indoor Location-based IoT Service Platform

  • In this paper, among short-range wireless communication technologies such as Beacon, Bluetooth, UWB (Ultra-wideband), ZigBee, NFC (Near Field Communication), Z-Wave, 6LoWPAN (IPv6 over Low power WPAN), D2D (Device to Device), etc., proposed an IoT service platform based on a beacon that can provide indoor positioning. And, a beacon-linked web server was designed by blocking indiscriminate beacon spam signals and applying REST web service technology with flexibility and scalability. Data accessibility between different devices was verified by testing the success rate of data transmission, the success rate of blocking beacon push, the success rate of IoT interlocking processing, the accuracy of location positioning, and the success rate of REST web service-based data processing. Through the designed IoT service platform, various proposals and research on short-distance-based business models and service platforms will be conducted in the future.

  • Wireless sensor networks consist of small battery powered devices with limited energy resources. Once deployed, the small sensor nodes are usually inaccessible to the user, and thus replacement of the energy source is not feasible. Hence, energy efficiency is a key design issue that needs to be enhanced in order to improve the life span of the network. In BCDCP, all sensors send data from CH (Cluster Head) and then to BS (Base Station). BCDCP works well in small-scale network but in large scale network it is not appropriated since it uses much energy for long distance wireless communication. We propose a routing protocol - Triangular Clustering Routing Protocol (TCRP) - to prolong network life time through the balanced energy consumption. TCRP selects cluster head of triangular shape. The sensor field is divided into energy level and in every level we choose one node as a gate node. This gate node collects data and sends it to the leader node. Finally the leader node sends the aggregated data to the BS. We show TCRP outperforms BCDCP with several experiments.

A Study on Optimizing Disk Utilization of Software-Defined Storage (소프트웨어 정의 스토리지의 디스크 이용을 최적화하는 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, many companies are using public cloud services or building their own data center because digital transformation is expanding. The software-defined storage is a key solution for storing data on the cloud platform and its use is expanding worldwide. Software-defined storage has the advantage of being able to virtualize and use all storage resources as a single storage device and supporting flexible scale-out. On the other hand, since the size of an object is variable, an imbalance occurs in the use of the disk and may cause a failure. In this study, a method of redistributing objects by optimizing disk weights based on storage state information was proposed to solve the imbalance problem of disk use, and the experimental results were presented. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the maximum utilization rate of the disk decreased by 10% from 89% to 79%. Failures can be prevented, and more data can be stored by optimizing the use of disk.

  • Internet of Things(IoT) technology is developing to a stage where the Internet and objects are connected and objects themselves analyze and judge data to interconnect the real world and the virtual world in real time. This technology consists of sensors, actuators, devices, and networks, and it is being applied in various fields. As the number of IoT devices and applications increases, data traffic also increases. In this paper, a messaging system is designed and implemented in order to analyze the performance between an IoT device and MQTT broker. The experimental was performed to measure MQTT-based round-trip time and message transmission time between the IoT device and the broker. The result shows that there is no packet loss, and propagation delay affects round-trip time.

Development of Gas Type Identification Deep-learning Model through Multimodal Method (멀티모달 방식을 통한 가스 종류 인식 딥러닝 모델 개발)

  • Gas leak detection system is a key to minimize the loss of life due to the explosiveness and toxicity of gas. Most of the leak detection systems detect by gas sensors or thermal imaging cameras. To improve the performance of gas leak detection system using single-modal methods, the paper propose multimodal approach to gas sensor data and thermal camera data in developing a gas type identification model. MultimodalGasData, a multimodal open-dataset, is used to compare the performance of the four models developed through multimodal approach to gas sensors and thermal cameras with existing models. As a result, 1D CNN and GasNet models show the highest performance of 96.3% and 96.4%. The performance of the combined early fusion model of 1D CNN and GasNet reached 99.3%, 3.3% higher than the existing model. We hoped that further damage caused by gas leaks can be minimized through the gas leak detection system proposed in the study.

  • Stream data need a efficient data management with high reliability and real time processing. The characteristics of these data are a large volume, a short report interval and asynchronous report time. The typical queries of these systems consist of the current query to search the latest signal value, the snapshot query to search the signal value of a past time, the historical query to search the signal value of a past time to current. This paper proposes the efficient method to manage the above signals by using a file structured database in QNX operating systems. The query model to accommodate various query for stream data is proposed. The proposed methods are applied to reactive protection system to verify their usefulness. The COM(Cabinet Operator Module) based on the QNX employs file database that adopts a delta version and a buffering method for the resource limit of a small storage and a low computing power.

  • In this paper the fuel filling system for a city bus was investigated in order to improve the system. The suggested fuel filling system was designed to have functions of identifying a bus arrival tine, and measuring volume of fuel filled. The system consisted of four parts of bus identification, IBM PC, interface card, fuel filling control system and program for integrating all parts. It is believed that the information obtained by this system can be used for analysing driver's driving habits and performance of engine of a bus, and accordingly the prime cost can be reduced.

한일상관센터 운영과 향후 계획

  • 한국천문연구원은 일본국립천문대와 한일공동으로 개발한 한일공동VLBI상관기(KJJVC)의 VLBI 관측자들에게 연구결과를 제공할 수 있는 정상운영을 2013년부터 수행하였다. 한일상관센터(KJCC)에서는 평균 8시간정도 관측한 VLBI 관측자료의 상관처리에 소요되는 시간은 약 2주 정도이며, 데이터 분석가의 확인을 거친 후 담당 PI에게 상관결과를 전달하고 있다. 현재 상관처리는 다양한 관측모드 중에서 연구관측에서 많은 비중으로 차지하고 있는 C5(16MHz 대역폭에 16stream) 모드를 지원하고 있으며, 2013년도에 여러 연구자들의 요구에 대응하기 위해 Wideband(512MHz 대역폭), C1(256MHz 대역폭, 1stream), C2(128MHz 대역폭, 2stream) 모드를 지원할 수 있도록 시스템의 성능을 개선할 예정이다. 또한 일본국립천문대에서는 자기테이프를 사용하고 있는 VERA 관측망에 대해 관측자료의 복사시간 단축, 운영효율을 향상시키기 위해 하드디스크를 채용한 OCTADISK 시스템을 개발하였으며, 한일상관센터에도 동기재생처리장치에 장착된 2대의 OCTADDB를 OCTADISK로 수정작업을 추진하였다. 본 보고에서는 이상에 기술한 것과 같이 한일상관센터의 운영현황과 향후 계획에 대해 자세히 기술한다.

  • With progress in information technology, demand for imaging devices such as display devices is increasing. But noise occurs due to various reasons during the process of acquiring, transmitting or processing the image data. Filters used to remove salt and pepper noise include SMF, CWMF and AWMF. In areas where the noise density is high, the removal of noise is undermined. This paper suggests an adjusted median filter algorithm that transforms the noise pixels to more effectively remove salt and pepper noise.

  • 액세스망 기술 분야는 초고속 정보통신 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 유·무선 전달 매체 처리기술, 액세스망 구성 방식 기술, 기존 인프라를 이용하는 고도의 DSL기술 등이 복합되어 사업자의 망 구축 여건에 따라 다양한 형태로 실현되고 있다. MAIN1)은 기존 동선상에서 전화 및 데이터 서비스는 물론 광대역서비스 제공을 위해 VDSL기술을 채용하며, 망 구성방식으로는 ATM/SDH 또는 ATM/PON 기반으로 FTTx 방식의 통합 액세스망 플랫폼이다. 그러나 액세스망은 다수 망사업자와 서비스사업자 환경과 공중망과 사설망이 혼재하며, 새로운 요소기술이 복합되는 망 영역이므로 소요장치의 OAM 뿐만 아니라 망관리에 대한 체계적인 OA&M이 요구되고 있다. 액세스망의 OA&M은 비용 효과적인 액세스망 실현과 실제 망 운용비용과는 상호 상반된 관점을 가진다. 본 논문은 다양한 형태의 액세스망에 대해 통합 관점의 망 관리와 시스템 관리를 위한 체계적인 OA&M 정립을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 통합 엑세스망 플랫폼에 대한 망관리 설계 접근 방법 및 고려사항에 대해 논하고, MAIN의 관리 구조 모델을 제시한다. 또한 MAIN 하드웨어 구조에서 NEL 시스템의 운용관리 및 소요기술에대한 OAM 기능과 망관리 기능 구현을 통하여 MAIN 엑세스망의 OA&M 실현 구조를 조명 함으로서 관련 액세스망 OA&M 구현 시 기본 참조 모델로 제안한다.
