  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the satisfaction of online classes of undergraduates who have experienced sudden online classes in college because of COVID-19, and to analyze the differences of the satisfaction of online classes depending on colleges. The participants were 1,380 college students. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Post-hoc Scheffé were performed. Undergraduates were highly satisfied with online classes in cultural subjects and major subjects, whereas they showed low satisfaction with appropriateness of the assignment. There were statistically significant differences in online class satisfaction between colleges. Students at the College of Education were highly satisfied with online classes satisfaction, while engineering students were less satisfied with online classes satisfaction. There were statistically significant differences in students engagements between colleges. Regardless of colleges, students displayed low satisfaction in e-class server and teaching and learning infrastructure. These findings suggest that we need to provide autonomous support and make an effective online learning environment such as server expansion and e-class improvement to enhance undergraduates' self-directed learning. We also should come up with effective online classes guidelines.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of character strength and self-efficacy on subjective happiness of adult learners of distance nursing education. The subjects were 261 adult learners of Bachelor Science in nursing course for Registered Nurse of a national open university. The mean score of subjective happiness of subjects was a little lower. 'Transcendence and Humanity' among Character Strength was the highest and 'Justice' was the lowest. Multiple regressions showed that positive integrity, hardiness, and perceived health status explained 38.0% of subjective happiness and positive integrity was the main influencing factor. The learning supporting strategies focusing on reinforcing these factors are needed to improve the subjective happiness of nurses who are continuing their learning through distance education.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest to the reference librarians In the university that how they should perform their roles under the internet environment. For this purpose, first, the environmental factors that the roles of the reference librarians should be changed are examined. Second, such two aspects of the future university library as virtual library and learning resource center are Presupposed. The seven role models for reference librarians based on these are as follows. 1) Contents Analyst, 2) Contents Manager, 3) Learning Resource Supplier, 4) Information Mediators, 5) Virtual Lecture Manager, 6) Instructor for Information Literacy, 7) Reference Resource Developer.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among daily hassles, self-efficacy, and stress responses of RN-BSN (Registered Nurses-Bachelor of Science in Nursing) students in juggling both their jobs and learning as an adult learner of distance education in digital convergence era. The data were collected by a questionnaire from 229 nurses in a RN-BSN course of an open university from October to November, 2013. The mean score of facing task dimension was much higher than the interpersonal dimension score among daily hassles. The academic problem of the facing task and the family relationship of the interpersonal were the highest respectively. The mean score of self-efficacy was slightly higher than the median. Multiple regression showed that perceived health status, workload, occupation satisfaction, and values problem of daily hassles explained 44.2% of stress reponses and values problem was the main factor influencing stress responses. The distance education policies and strategies were required to manage their stress for the adult learners of distance education in digital convergence era.

  • This study identified learners' immersion, focusing on online video education platforms, Zoom and Webex, used in colleges after the 'Covid-19', and suggested design improvement measures to improve immersion. Through prior research and literature research, the components of immersion and screen components of the online distance education platform were identified, and measures to improve immersion were suggested through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews. The research method was conducted for 5 days from April 7 to 12, 2021 for 50 college students and graduate students in their 20s and 30s who are receiving online education through Zoom and Webex, and 6 people were interviewed in-depth. As a result of the experiment, the communication between learners and lecturers was deduced as the biggest factor, so a design plan to facilitate communication between learners and lecturers was proposed based on Gutenberg's diagram. As online video education is predicted to continue even after the Covid-19, continuous online video education immersion research is needed, and we hope that it can contribute to the direction of the research.

  • Computer based teaming system has considerable influence upon teaching technique and teaming efficiency. It is possible to make a learner-oriented teaching in the online learning system. In this case, it can provide easily and immediately learner with various information that relate to class status, for example, attendance, examination score and so on. In the case of conventional off-line education, however, it is inefficient to provide the information of class status for learners compared with on-line system. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system of class status which can provide various information of teaming status for learners, instructors and advisors. It is useful to advise student's course work and job. The main purpose of this system is to prepare a monitoring system of class status on a web based e-class system. It achieves self-monitoring systems which provide a feedback data as a result of class for students.

  • In this study, 186 remote graduate students from J University were surveyed and interviewed in-depth to see if their satisfaction varies depending on their gender, semester, and major, and the results were as follows. First, the gender satisfaction of remote graduate students was shown to be statistical significance differences between men and women in professors, offline activities, and class evaluations, all of which showed that men were significantly higher than women. Second, the satisfaction level of each semester of remote graduate students was shown to be significantly different in curriculum, LMS, lecture content quality, and offline activities, and tended to increase as the school year went up. Third, the satisfaction level of remote graduate students by major was found to have significant differences in other factors except LMS and class contents, with the highest educational administration. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data to improve elements absolutely necessary for student-centered education, such as curriculum of remote graduate schools, establishment of learning platform (LMS), and development and production of lecture contents.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the lecture satisfaction of radiological science majors in total remote classes due to coronavirus disease 2019, and influencing factors were analyzed. An online survey was conducted from September 1, 2020 to November 15, 2020, lecture satisfaction, teaching presence, academic motivation, self efficacy, behavior regulation and usage simplicity of remote classes for 458 3 and 4-year radiological science majors located in the Yeongnam area. Lecture satisfaction was significantly different according to grade, self-review time, and preferred teaching method. In addition, lecture satisfaction showed a significant positive corrleation with the teaching presence and usage simplicity of remote classes. In the multiple regression model, lecture satisfaction showed a significant explanatory power of 45.7% through usage simplicity, teaching presence, self efficacy and academic motivation. This study was attempted to provide basic data to increase the effect of remote classes at universities that are expected to expand in the post-corona.
