  • In general, we thought only composers can compose musics. And now we should have opportunities to make some musics by Computer Music System which called 'MIDI', but the composition is still unfamiliar to non musician men or women. In this report, we exhibit the possibility of the auto code composition by computer program which should make non musician men or women to composers.

  • 20세기 전반에 가장 미국적인 작곡가라 불리는 거쉬인은 대중음악과 고전음악이라는 양분법이 아닌 두 가지가 적절히 조화된 작품들을 많이 작곡했다. 그 중 "랩소디 인 블루"는 가장 널리 알려지고 사랑받는 곡이다. 항상 새로움을 추구하고 배움을 게을리 하지 않았던 거쉬인의 작곡활동은 그 시기에 따라 약간씩 변화 되었다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 가장 대중적으로 인기를 얻은 랩소디 인 블루를 작곡했던 시기인 1924~1930년까지의 작곡활동에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 이 시기에 작곡했던 주요 곡들에 쓰인 음악적 스타일과 그에 대한 특성에 대해 알아보도록 하겠다.

  • The appearance of the computer composition system(MIDI) expects that non-musicians can make musics easily, but, in fact, non-musicians still compose hard. This thesis shows that a computer makes lord progress through a database, which in-putted all practicable cord progress. In other words, non-musicians just makes some melodies over the settled cord progress, so they can make a music more easely.

  • Among various tools for pop music composition, what is most frequently used by K-Pop composers is the digital sequencer program, or DAW software (Digital Audio Workstation). When it comes to making commercial music such as K-Pop, the proportion of using these programs is extremely high. By using those software, composers come to undergo an entirely different art creation process. User interface (UI) of the DAW software has a profound effect on the process of making music, particularly vis-a-vis usability and visibility. This study is an attempt to analyze the Avid Pro Tool's UI with a focus on its inherent characteristics revealed in relation with the real effect throughout music composition. This study categorizes the UI elements in the Edit Window of the Pro Tools as Grid, Track, Slip, Clip, and Fade. Those categorized elements would be analyzed through Douglas Morgan's Creative-Process theory, thereby clarifying how visual interface of the DAW software functions in music composition practically.

  • This study aimed to provide an overview of artificial intelligence based music composition programs. The artificial intelligence-based composition program has shown remarkable growth as the development of deep neural network theory and the improvement of big data processing technology. Accordingly, artificial intelligence based composition programs for composing classical music and pop music have been proposed variously in academia and industry. But there are several limitations: devaluation in general populations, missing valuable materials, lack of relevant laws, technology-led industries exclusive to the arts, and so on. When effective measures are taken against these limitations, artificial intelligence based technology will play a significant role in fostering national competitiveness.

  • In this Paper, systematic quad-tree array method for easy composition is proposed, which is based on music cord. The appearance of the computer composition system, so called MIDI, expects that non-musicians can make musics easily, but, in fact. non-musicians still compose hard. This approach shows that a computer makes cord progress through a database, which in-putted all practicable cord progress. Experimental results showed that this method is superior to conventional method such as. composition time as well as that of method.

  • This treatise presents that a possibility of non-musician's composition. In fart, as a development of music composition program(used by IAVA) helps to compose music easily, but non-musician still feels hard to compose some musics and perform some musics even though the band-in-a-box is already existed(which is an auto accompaniment program). This treatise shows non-musicians' special music composition way. Select a cord and put the cord to special program which ratted ‘the cord composition program’, and then the cord composition program creates the rest cords. After this progress, non-musicians overwrite their own melodies in accordance with created cords. Finally, they can perform their own musics with the sound of master-keyboard and other sound sources using by the band-in-a-box program.

  • 2차 세계대전 이후 현대음악은 기존의 12음 기법을 유지하면서 이전과는 다른 음소재(音素材)나 작법(作法)이 출현하게 되었다. 이중 온음 이내의 좁은 음정간격에서 다수의 음이 나는 톤 클러스터(Tone Cluster)는 현대음악에서 작곡기법으로 사용되고 있다. 이러한 클러스터 보이싱은 재즈음악과 대중음악에서도 종종 사용되고 있으며 본 연구를 통해 다양한 클러스터 보이싱을 만들어 보고 적용시켜 보았다.

  • In this paper, chord progress pattern of popular music is analyzed, and based on this optimal chord pattern, bit matrix of melody information is used for the input vector of neural network. Experimental result showed that possibility of computer composition based on neural network is verified. With regard to some given melody, by making use of proposed method, it is also possible to reconstruct the various melody.

  • In this paper, in the middle of progressing popular music chord, a method of inserting melody is addressed, which utilized by analyzing chord progress pattern. Firstly, a method for transforming melody into bit pattern which is to be used for neural network input is described. In order to insert the melody, composition pattern is learned from back propagation neural network, and based on these data new melody is to be generated. Experimental results verified the possibility of neural network based computer composition.
