The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results: As a result of multiple regression analysis, the significant predictors of communication competency of nursing students were interpersonal relationships(β=.404, p<.001) and positive thinking(β=.274, p=.014). Communication competency was explained 47.9% of variance in interpersonal relationship and positive thinking. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that interpersonal relationship and positive thinking in nursing students were the influential factor on communication competency. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that it is necessary to find ways to improve interpersonal relationship and positive thinking in order to improve communication competency of nursing students, and it is considered to be useful as basic data for developing intervention programs to improve communication competency.

  • This study aimed to investigate the impact of college students' fashion competence on social anxiety, focusing on the mediating effects of interpersonal skills and appearance anxiety. To this end, a survey was conducted among 235 college students via online communities, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0. The factor analysis revealed sub-factors of fashion competence, including fashion involvement, fashion innovativeness, and confidence in fashion coordination. The regression analysis of the mediation model showed that while fashion involvement indirectly reduces social anxiety through interpersonal skills, there was no mediating effect of appearance anxiety. Fashion innovativeness had an indirect impact on social anxiety through appearance anxiety, but there was no mediating effect through interpersonal skills. Confidence in fashion coordination influenced social anxiety indirectly through both interpersonal skills and appearance anxiety, and it also had a significant direct effect. This research confirmed that fashion competence can have a dual impact on social anxiety, and suggested that enhancing confidence in fashion coordination through fashion therapy programs might be beneficial for resolving college students' social anxiety. However, such programs should avoid excessively pursuing fashion innovativeness, as it can increase appearance anxiety, and should focus on enhancing confidence in one's appearance.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of young children's empathic ability and interpersonal competence on caring behavior in forming relationships. Subjects included 152 4- and 5-year-old children attending a kindergarten located in a micropolitan city. Questionnaires required self-reporting by teachers, and were used to investigate young children's caring behavior, empathic ability and interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Data was analyzed using t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis and Stepwise-Regression analysis. Results were as follows: First, young children's caring behavior was negatively correlated with empathic ability and positively associated with interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Second, young children's emotional behavior as each domain of caring behavior were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the social reactivity and explaining the relative effect of relationship formation. Active behaviors were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of follow-up instructions, but negatively affected mental burden. Normative behaviors were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of social reactivity, but negatively predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the relationship formation and mental burden. Value-contributing behavior in each domain of caring behavior were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the positive interaction.

TSL-JSM program consisted of 12 sessions were implemented to experimental group, on the other hands, other employee assistant program with 12 stages was applied to comparison group. Data analysis for verification of TSL-JSM program was conducted with SPSS 25.0. Both social scientific and biomedical scientific measures show that TSL-JSM program has most strong effects on enhancing interpersonal relationship skills and allaying level of job stress by levels of increased HRV SDNN and decreased Corisol.

  • This study examined the factors affecting clinical practice adaptation to provide basic data for the improvement of clinical practice adaptation for the first year of clinical practice. The subjects were 153 nursing students and medical students in G-do. Data were collected from April 1 to April 30, 2019, and analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using IBM SPSS WIN/21.0. The mean of college adjustment, character, interpersonal competence, communicative competence, and clinical practice adaptation was 3.37 points, 3.82, 3.61, 3.56, and 3.54, respectively. Clinical practice adaptation was related to college adjustment, character, interpersonal competence, and communicative competence (p<.001). The most influential factor in clinical practice was interpersonal competence (β=.502, p<.001), followed by department adaptation (β=-.215, p<.001) and college adjustment (β=.174, p=.010), respectively. The explanatory power was 41.1% (F=34.11, p<.001). Therefore, a way to improve interpersonal competence is needed to advance clinical practice adaptation. In the character building program for adjustment to college life, systematic education is needed, including the opportunity to think about and understand oneself, continuous meeting to understand and accept others. In addition, repeated communication training to improve interpersonal competence is needed.

  • This study was a non-equivalence-based Quasi experimental study comparing the difference in communication ability, emotional intelligence (EQ), self-esteem, and interpersonal abilities between an experimental group with communication training and a non-control group. The subjects of the study were nurses working for D university hospital located in C city and comprised an experimental group of 21 people and a control group of 21 people. From April to May 2017, the experimental group took communication training programs, which were designed to improve communication capacity, emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and interpersonal ability for a total of four sessions (for 2 hours a week), and pre-post examination was conducted for the validity of the study. For data analysis, the SPSS for Windows 23 was used for the mean and standard deviation of pre-post tests, and U-test of the independent sample Mann-Whitney and the Wilcoxon code order test of the corresponding sample were carried out. The study results indicate that, compared with the control group, the experimental group showed communication capacity (Z=-3.361, p<.05), emotional intelligence (Z=-2.209, p<.05), self-esteem (Z=-1.633, p<.05), and interpersonal relationship (Z=-2.577, p<.05). After the communication training program, scores of communication capacity, emotional intelligence (EQ), self-esteem, and interpersonal competence of the experimental group increased significantly, and all hypotheses were supported. These results suggest that nurses' use of communication training experience in performing nursing work in a clinical setting would improve communication skills, emotional intelligence (EQ), self-esteem, and interpersonal skills and provide therapeutic communication and effective nursing, thereby enhancing patients' satisfaction and contributing to the improvement of nursing quality.

  • This study aims to investigate factors that affect nursing students' communication skills. For the study, 232 nursing students in a certain region were surveyed from September to October 2020. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. As a result, empathy, self-acceptance, and interpersonal competence were found to have a significant effect on the students' communication skills with an explanatory power of 50.7%. As for the relationship between general characteristics and communication skills, variations were seen due to gender (F=-3.86, p=.000) and satisfaction with college life (F=3.02, p=.019). Also, self-acceptance (r=.346, p<.001), empathy (r=.531, p<.001), and interpersonal competence (r=.680, p<.001) had a statistically significant positive correlation with communication skills. In conclusion, to improve the communication skills of nursing students, it is necessary to have specialized communication programs that reflect the curriculum and also programs that help increase empathy and interpersonal competence based on the gender of the student.
