CO2 conversion technology for CO gas synthesis using coal (석탄을 사용한 CO가스 제조를 위한 CO2 전환기술)

  • In this study, the experiment of CO production was performed using carbon dioxide and coal. The synthesis characteristics of CO gas was investigated using the chemical activation method of KOH. The preparation process has been optimized through the analysis of experimental variables such as activating chemical agents to coal ratio, the flow rate of gas and reaction temperature during $CO_2$ conversion reaction. Without the catalyst of KOH, the 66.7% of $CO_2$ conversion was obtained at the conditions of $T=950^{\circ}C$ and $CO_2$ flow rate of 300 cc/min. On the other hand, the 98.1% of $CO_2$ conversion was obtained using catalyst of KOH at same conditions. It was found that the feed ratio(Coal : KOH = 4 : 1) had better $CO_2$ conversion and CO selectivity than other feed ratios.

A Study on Basin Characteristics of Small Stream System (소하천 수계의 유역특성에 관한 연구)

  • The stream morphological characteristics of a watershed play a significant role in the analysis of rainfall-runoff relations in a river basin and a quantitative description of these characteristics is essential for determining the appropriate values of physical parameters of a watershed which usually are input data for rainfall-runoff simulation models. In this study the stream morphological characteristics of the Gab River basin, which is one of the three major tributaries of Geum River, was determined quantitatively by the Horton-Strahler's method. The result showed that the Gab River System was developed very closely to the patterns generally described by the laws of Horton. The basic relations concerning the morphological characteristics deriveed in this study are the relations of stream length, and average stream slope, the stream length-drainage area relation, relative height-relative drainage area relation, and the relation between the proportional stream order and drainage area. No correlation analysis was possible between the morphological parameters and the streamflow due to non-existence of the stage gauging stations on the Gab River System.

  • 4대강 살리기 사업에서 국가하천 주요 구간에 대규모 보가 건설되고 있다. 이로 인해 치수 및 하천환경에 많은 문제점이 야기될 수 있으며, 발생 가능한 하천관리의 문제점을 최소화하기 위해서는 하천정비에 따른 수리학적 영향을 검토할 필요가 있다. 보의 설치는 유지유량 및 수심 확보의 목적을 지니고 있지만, 기존 하천에 설치된 보는 대부분 고정보로서 흐름의 정체를 유발시키는 단점이 있다. 최근에는 가동보가 설치되어 일정 이상의 초과 유량 및 수위를 조절할 수 있도록 탄력적인 보 운영이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강 본류에 건설 중인 강정보 설치지점 직상 하류 구간에 대하여 가동보의 설치 및 운영에 따른 보주변의 흐름특성을 RMA2와 FLOW-3D를 이용하여 모의하였다. 2개의 수문으로 구성되어 있는 강정보의 수문 운영을 2년 빈도 및 100년 빈도 홍수량에 대하여 좌측 또는 우측 단일수문 완전개방 및 부분개방, 양측 수문의 완전개방 및 부분개방에 따른 보 상류단 수위의 변화 및 하류단에 형성되는 주흐름의 변화를 분석하였다. 2년 빈도 홍수량에서의 가동보 지점의 유속이 100년 빈도 홍수량에 대한 가동보 지점의 유속보다 크게 발생하였다. 양측 수문을 완전히 개방하였을 때 주흐름이 우안방향으로 휘는 현상이 발생하였으며, 우측 수문 단일개방에서 주흐름의 우측 휨 현상이 뚜렷이 나타나고 있어 양측 수문 개방에서의 주흐름이 우측 수문에서 발생되는 흐름에 의해 지배되고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 100년 빈도 홍수량에 대한 모의에서 수문 개방방식에 따른 보 상류부의 홍수위 변화가 크게 나타나지 않았으며, 2년 빈도 홍수량에서는 수문 개방 방식에 대한 보상류의 수위가 차이를 보였다. 가동보의 $30^{\circ}\sim60^{\circ}$ 부분개방에 대한 모의결과에서는 부분개방의 정도가 커짐에 따라 수문 지점에서의 유속이 크게 발생하였다.

Formation of the Diamond Thin Film as the SOD Sturcture (SOD 구조 형성에 따른 다이아몬드 박막 형성)

  • High quality diamond films of the silicon on diamond (SOD) structure are deposited using CO and $H_2$ gas mixture in microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD), a SOD structure is fabricated using low pressure CVD polysilicon on diamond/ Si(100) substrate. The crystalline structure of the diamond films which composed of { 111} and {100} planes. were changed from octahedral one to cubo-octahedron one as the CO/$H_2$ ratios are increased. The high quality diamond films without amorphous carbon and non-diamond elements were deposited at the CO/$H_2$ flow rate of 0.18. and the main phase of the diamond films shows (111) plane. The diamond/Si(lOO) structure shows that the interface is flat without voids. The measured dielectric constant. leakage current and breakdown field were $5.31\times10^{-9}A/cm^2$ and $9\times{10^7}{\Omega}cm$ respectively.

  • In this paper, we constructed the integrated watershed model system, SWAT-Nak Dong that include areal mean precipitaiton, runoff and water balance components in the Nak Dong river basins and with this model system we are capable of estimating streamflows for ungaged river stations and analyzing the variations of the streamflows. SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool) is a conceptual, continous time model that was developed in the early 1990s to assist water resource managers in assessing the impact of management and climate on water supplies and non-point source pollution III watersheds and large river basins. Using the SWAT-Nak Dong system and various scenarios, we analyzed and evaluated the dams and water uses effects on the streamflows.

Affinity Filtration Chromatography of Proteins by Chitosan and Chitin Membranes: 2. Separation of BSA and Lysozyme (키토산 및 키틴 막에 의한 단백질의 친화 여과 크로마토그래피: 2. BSA 및 Lysozyme의 분리)

  • Porous affinity chitosan and chitin membranes with good mechanical strength and high protein binding capacity were prepared by using silica particles as porogen. The maximum binding capacity of affinity chitosan membrane for BSA protein is 21.8mg/mL, and that of affinity chitin membrane for lysozyme enzyme is 26.1mg/mL. Chromatographic separations of BSA and lysozyme proteins using the porous affinity chitosan and chitin membranes were performed with change of the flow rate, loading amount and concentration of protein loading solutions. Protein eluted amount and binding yield were calculated from the filtration chromatograms consisted of loading/washing/elution sequences. Protein binding amount and yield were increased with decreasing of flow rate, increasing of loading amount and concentration of protein loading solutions. Those results suggest that the porous chitosan and chitin membranes prepared by using silica particles as porogen are suitable in affinity filtration chromatography for large scale separation of proteins.

  • 도시하천에서 환경적 기능이 중요성을 더해가면서 복단면의 홍수터에 교목이 식재 되어지는 경우가 있다. 그러나 식생은 하천의 흐름저항을 크게 하고 통수능을 감소시켜 수위상승이나 국부적인 유속 증가를 유발할 수 있으므로 하천에 식생대를 조성하거나 향후 관리를 위해서는 식재로 인해 변화되는 수리학적 특성들을 이해하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 하천복원의 주 대상이 될 수 있는 도시하천의 홍수터에 교목의 식재 가능성을 알아보기 위해 수리실험을 실시하였다. 실험수로는 우리나라 도시하천의 대부분이 홍수터를 갖는 복단면임을 고려하여 복단면 형태로 제작하였으며, 실험은 길이 16 m, 폭 0.8 m, 높이 0.9 m이고 벽면이 아크릴로 된 직사각형 가변 경사 개수로 실험 장치를 이용하였다. 수로경사는 0.5 %, 실험 식생의 밀도는 4.4 %로 고정하고, 실험유량을 $0.03{\sim}0.04\;m^3/s$, 수심(h)과 홍수터 폭(w)의 비(h/w)를 1.2, 1.7, 2.2로 변화시키면서 실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 최대 수심변화는 유량이 $0.04\;m^3/s$이고 수심/홍수터 폭 비가 1.2일때 약 4 %로 측정되었고, 저수로에서의 유속의 증가 범위는 단면 평균유속에 비교하여 약 $50{\sim}85\;%$로 확인되었다. 이는 복단면에서의 저수로 유속은 홍수터에 식재가 되었을 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 더욱 빨라짐을 의미한다. 따라서 복단면의 홍수터에 교목을 식재할 경우에는 식재에 의한 수위상승 영향 보다는 저수로에서의 유속증가에 더 많은 관심을 가질 필요가 있다고 판단된다.

Prediction of Pressurant Mass Requirement for Propellant Tank with Operating Condition Variation (운용조건 변화에 따른 추진제탱크 가압가스 요구량 예측)

  • The pressurant mass required for propellant tank pressurization with operating condition variation was estimated by using the numerical model already developed for this purpose. The model was applied to the concept design results of KSLV-II first stage oxygen tank. The supplied pressurant temperature, oxygen volumetric flow rate, and the ratio of length to diameter of the tank were selected as variables. The required pressurant mass and mass flow rate, collapse factor, ullage temperature distribution were predicted, and the results showed that the pressurant temperature had the largest effect on the amount of the required pressurant mass. The pressurizing efficiency of the propellant tank was calculated through analyzing energy distribution in the ullage. It was found that the gas-to-wall heat transfer in the ullage was dominant, and much of the pressurant energy was lost to tank wall heating.

  • A test stand for an altitude test of reciprocating engine was designed, manufactured and validated by preliminary tests and simple calculations. The test stand was designed to interface with the altitude turbo-shaft engine test facility of Korea Aerospace Research Institute. Many limiting conditions for altitude test of reciprocating engine were assumed and the test stand was developed to satisfy these limitations. The test stand design was focused especially on the altitude, Mach number and fuel temperature control for reciprocating engine altitude tests with smaller air and fuel flow than those of turbo shaft engines.

Development of Semi-Distributed TOPMODEL (준분포형 TOPMODEL 개발)

  • The diversity of observed hydrologic data and the development of geographic information system leads significant progress for developing distributed runoff models in the world. One of the typical examples is TOPMODEL, but the spatial coverage of its application Is limited on small headwater basins. The purpose of this study attempts to overcome its limitation and consequently develops a semi-distributed TOPMODEL. The developed model is composed of two components: a watershed runoff component for a lumped representation of hydrologic runoff process on the catchment scale and a kinematic wave type hydraulic channel routing component lot routing the catchment outflows. The application basin is the $2,703km^2$ upper Soyang dam site and several daily and hourly events are selected for model calibrations and verifications. The model parameters are estimated on 1990 daily event. The model performance on correlation coefficient between observed and computed flows are above 0.90 for the verification events. It is concluded that the developed model in this study can be used for flood analysis in large drainage basins.
