In this paper, an antenna which has dipole-like radiation pattern and low profile is proposed. The antenna is composed of four elements slot array based on L-shaped 0.43 $\lambda_g$ slot element. It presents a omni-directional radiation patter in the azimuth plane and has a null toward broad-side direction. In the design, a small mono-pole antenna which acts as a large capacitance element, combined with the partially removed ground plane by four L-shaped slots. As a result, these structure act as a LC resonator for radiation. The measured result shows, the impedance bandwidth(VSWR$\leq$2) of the proposed antenna is 60 MHz(2.35$\sim$2.41 GHz). The measured maximum radiation gain and efficiency of proposed antenna is 0.02 dBi, 56.7 % at center frequency 2.38 GHz, respectively. The proposed antenna can be applied to wireless tan access point system.

This paper proposes 24 GHz power amplifier for automotive collision avoidance and surveillance short range radar using Samsung 65-nm CMOS process. The proposed circuit has a 2-stage differential power amplifier which includes common source structure and transformer for single to differential conversion, impedance matching, and power combining. The measurement results show 15.5 dB maximum voltage gain and 3.6 GHz 3 dB bandwidth. The measured maximum output power is 13.1 dBm, input $P1_{dB}$ is -4.72 dBm, output $P1_{dB}$ is 9.78 dBm, and maximum power efficiency is 17.7 %. The power amplifier consumes 74 mW DC power from 1.2 V supply voltage.

MoIP is technology to transmit a variety of multimedia over IP, but compared to traditional voice services require greater bandwidth and radio resources in a wireless environment has already reached the limits. Therefore, as a way to resolve this issue for header compression is a lot of research. SCTP protocol header compression using ROHC-SCTP has been research, ROHC-SCTP packet structure of the ROHC algorithm with different types and, SCTP header compression to apply the characteristics of the poor performance of many of these have drawbacks. Therefore, in this paper to solve these problems better header compression algorithm was designed. In this paper, the proposed algorithm to evaluate the NS-2 simulation environment was modeled on the header compression operation. Evaluation results, the algorithm designed in this paper compared to ROHC-SCTP algorithms determine the overhead rate was low, the data types vary a lot better when the total header size was small.

This paper proposes a simple and highly effective RACMC(Real-time ATM Cell Monitoring and Control) algorithm and the resulting bandwidth gain effects art considered. RACMC algorithm performs usage parameter controls according to the monitoring informations of input data cells generated from the accepted connections and the controlling informations set by the M/P(Management Plane) for that connection. The results of monitoring and controlling actions for ATM data cells are transmitted to the M/P and the control parameters in lookup table are updated according to the condition of currently used bandwith. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can allocate network resource optimally and solve the several tantalizing problems that the existing cell control algorithm have, that is, the difficulty in controlling as monitoring very bursty traffics, unavoidable processing delay, and limited input buffer size when implemented. By the performance analysis using computer simulation, RACMC algorithm proves to be very effective especially in ATM network as implemented simply.

The overlay multicast that has been recently presented as IP alternative for the IP multicast has been getting much persuasion by the computing power of the hardware and the advancement of the network techniques to enforce Routing in application-level. In an overlay multicast, the system resource and the network bandwidth must be utilized efficiently to service real-time HDTV images. Specifically, the system must consider the delay and the jitter that can be incurred at the application-level. In this paper, we implement a server and a client to broadcast HDTV, in the session composed by the existing overlay multicast protocol. The broadcasting server performs the service using a TV tuner, An HDTV camcorder, and files, clients constituting a multicast group relay the received data to other clients. At this time, the information that the clients report periodically, including their delay and the network state, to the server is used as an important information to maintain an overlay session. The implementation is based on the DirectX and its performance is evaluated by the LAN test bed that has been set.
This paper divides domains into the intra, inter domain according to the mobile node's movement and .proposes the Fast RSVP algorithm on the HMIPv6. It is done to advance reservation using L2 beacon signal when MN is located to overlapped cell area. In case of intra-region handoff, the advance reservation is reserved at the nearest common router and In case of inter-region handoff, it is done to advance reservation through the other site MAP's QA(QoS Agent) to the AR and optimize CN's path. Because of using the bandwidth efficiently and switching the data path quickly, the proposal algorithm minimizes the service disruption by data routing.
Cellular network applications are growing drastically and this requires a fast and efficient transport method between the base station and the mobile switching center. One possible solution is to use ATM links. The low data rate and small-sized packets in the typical cellular applications imply that significant amount of link bandwidth would be wasted, if this small sized packet is carried by one ATM cell. For efficient operation for such cellular and low bit rate applications, a new type of ATM Adaptation Layer, AAL Type 2, has been proposed. In this paper, the principles of AAL Type 2 are briefly described along with the introduction of other alternatives which have formed the basis for this new AAL. The result from the simulation to study the performance of the AAL Type 2 is discussed from the view point of packet delay and ATM cell use efficiency. Due to the variable size of packets in this application, the fairness issue in serving variable sized packets is also discussed along with the effect of fair queueing algorithm implemented at AAL Type 2.
The multimedia traffic of continuous video and audio data via streaming service accounts for a significant and expanding portion of the Internet traffic. This streaming data delivery is mostly based on RTP with UDP. However, UDP does not support congestion control. For this reason, UDP causes the starvation of congestion controlled TCP traffic which reduces its bandwidth share during overload situation. In this paper, we propose a new TCP-friendly rate control scheme called 'TF-RTP(TCP-Friendly RTP)'. In the congested network state, the TF-RTP exactly estimates the competing TCP's throughput by using the modified parameters. Then, it controls the sending rate of the video streams. Therefore, the TF-RTP adjusts its sending rate to TCP-friendly and fair share with competing TCP traffics. Through the simulation, we prove that the TF-RTP correctly estimates the TCP's throughput and improves the TCP-friendliness and fairness.

TCP typically offers reasonable end-to-end performance to users regardless of the bandwidth and error characteristics of particular network technology, The robustness of TCP has contributed to its success in the internet environment. The role of communications is already well established in the office environment. With the advent of cheap, affordable broadband communications and the increasing complexity of consumer goods, it seems natural to extend the network into homes. In-home networking means a high-speed communication among the digital appliances within a home. Introduction of application over high-speed home network using TCP/IP protocol is increasing. The integrated environment of internet and home network is demanding as well. We have validated TCP model over high speed home network environment, investigated the throughput behavior of TCP over IEEE 1399 home networks, and evaluated a potential solution for high performance of TCP over IEEE 139t home networks. The simulation model has produced several interesting results in the performance of TCP over IEEE 1394 home network.

As demands increase for the Infotainment System, the Multimedia Networking technology for automobile, called MOST(Media Oriented Systems Transport), has been actively applied to the automobile industry, to meet the demands of the Infotainment System. The MOST25 network technology is being restrictively equipped with some of the car models but the problems withbandwidth and compatibility has arisen. In order to solve this, the MOST150 technology has been developed and further research is being carried out to applythe technology to the automobile industry. Thus, for the effective process of the Ethernet traffic in the realization of MOST150/Ethernet Gateway for automobile, we, in the research, shall analyse the Management Mapping method, including the MOST150's Isochronous channel, the MOST Ethernet Packet Channel, and etc. and study the efficient algorithm.
