Effect of 12 Hours Fasting Resistance Exercise on Metabolic Efficiency and Fatigue in Convergence Ages (융복합 시대의 12시간 공복저항운동이 대사효율성 및 피로물질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study to examine the effect of 12 hours fasting resistance exercise on metabolic efficiency and fatigue of middle-aged female for 8 weeks. 50 middle-aged female target group pre-test exercise group(EX) and the control over the homogeneity in the control group(CON) were selected for this purpose divided into two groups. Exercise group(EX) is maintained after 8 weeks four times weeks 12 hours fasting resistance was performed for 60 minutes, the control group(CON) were compared to a normal life with the group of the exercise group(EX). Resistance applied to the exercise group(EX) were using free weights and a fixed mechanism applied around the upper and lower body exercise program for heart muscle, exercise intensity based on the 70% 1RM until 4 weeks, 5-8, which was performed by the aid program set to 80%. Through this procedure were as follows. First, 12 hours fasting resistance exercise showed the significance of the interaction effect in metabolic efficiency, blood pressure(SBP, DBP), fat, fasting glucose, fasting insulin(p<.01). Second, 12 hours fasting resistance exercise showed the significance of the interaction effect in the treatment program in which lactic acid, uric acid(p<.01).

Quantitative Relationship Analysis of Bacterial Metabolic Network using ARACNE (ARACNE를 이용한 미생물 Metabolic network의 기능적 연관성 분석)

  • Metabolic network is composed of more than thousands of metabolic reactions. Therefore, understanding of metabolic behavior of microorganisms is required to engineer metabolism of microorganisms. In this paper, we employed ARACNE (Algorithm for the Reconstruction of Accurate Cellular Networks) to quantify relationships among metabolic subpathways. The results showed that ARACNE analysis can give new insight into the study of bacterial metabolism.

대사업체(大事業體)와 재벌사업체(財閥事業體)의 성장(成長)과 생산성(生産性)

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 "경제성장(經濟成長)이 재벌(財閥)과 대기업(大企業)에 의한 집중현상(集中現象)을 심화시켰는가?" 및 "재벌(財閥)은 과연 비효율적(非效率的)인가?"라는 두가지 의문에 대하여 제조업을 대상으로 경험적(經驗的) 증거(證據)를 구하였다. 본 연구의 발견 중 가장 중요한 것은, 첫째 대사업체(大事業體) 혹은 재벌부문(財閥部門)이 차지하는 상대적(相對的) 비중(比重)의 하락추세는 고성장기(高成長期)에 더욱 가속되므로 고성장(高成長)을 지속시키는 것이 생산집중(生産集中)을 치유(治癒)하는 유효(有效)한 방안(方案)이라는 시사점과, 둘째 재벌사업체(財閥事業體)가 비재벌사업체(非財閥事業體)보다 평균적으로는 생산성(生産性)이 높지만 생산성격차(生産性隔差)의 세세분류산업별(細細分類産業別) 분포(分布)는 U자형(字型)을 나타내어 비재벌사업체의 생산성이 훨씬 높은 예외산업(例外産業)이 다수 존재하기 때문에, 비효율(非效率)을 근거로 재벌의 기업활동(企業活動)을 규제(規制)하는 정책은 오히려 효율(效率)에 역행(逆行)할 뿐만 아니라 효율성(效率性)을 이유로 재벌규제를 일반화(一般化)하려는 시도 자체가 매우 위험하다는 시사점을 제공하였다. 이러한 발견은 우리경제의 재벌구조(財閥構造)와 경제력집중(經濟力集中)등의 현상을 막연히 비효율(非效率) 차원(次元)에서 접근하려던 일부의 시각을 부정하는 것으로서, 향후 재벌정책(財閥政策)의 목표(目標)가 재정립(再定立)되어야 함을 시사한다.

카나다산 보리에 의한 옥수수 대치수준이 육성계의 증체율 사료효율 영양소 이용율 및 경제성에 미치는 영향

  • 1. 카나다산 보리의 아미노산조성은 국산보리의 그것과 큰 차이가 없으나 단백질의 함량은 12$\%$로서 국산 보리의 10$\%$보다 약간 높았다. 증체량은 초생추시기에 보리 40$\%$수준이 낮았으나 중추 및 대추시기에는 각 처리구들 사이에 통계적 유의성이 없었으며 2. 사료섭취량과 사료효율은 전시험기간에 걸쳐서 역시 각 처리구 사이에 통계적인 유의성이 없었다. 3. 경제성 분석 결과, 0$\~$6주령에서 보리 40$\%$ 수준이 다소 비싸게 사료비가 소요되었으며 전 육성기간에 걸쳐 5개의 처리에 따른 유의성은 검출되지 않았다. 4. 중추사료의 대사시험 결과 고형물 질소축적률, 조섬유, NFE의 대사율은 각 처리구별로 유사하였으나, 조지방의 소화율은 보리수준이 높아질 수록 소화율도 향상됨을 보여 주었다(P<0.01).

  • 우리나라의 젖소 사육농가도 예전과는 달리 효율적인 사양관리를 기하기 위해 부단히 노력한 결과, 조사료와 농후사료의 배합비율이나 사료의 질과 양을 어느 정도로 급여하는 지를 사육농가가 관심을 가지는 농가가 늘고 있는 추세이다. 특히 젖소사양관리에서는 고품질우유, 고능력우가 증가하면서 우유의 생산성, 고능력우의 선발육종, 송아지의 조기육성시스템, 분만간격단축 등에 현저한 향상을 보이고 있다. 젖소는 건유기의 조사료위주의 사양으로부터 비유최고조기에 농후사료위주 사양에 이르면서 사료의 급격한 변화에 따라 짧은 기간내에 적응하지 않으면 안된다. 이러한 이유로 인해서 영양불량응로 인한 대사성질병들의 발생이 증가하고 있는 실정에 비추어 소의 생리적조건에 맞는 필요한 영양분을 충분하게 공급하여 주지 않으면 안된다.

Effects of CS682, a Fermentation Product of Korean Soil Bacteria, on Growth Performance in Chickens and Pigs (토착미생물 발효물인 CS682의 급여가 닭과 돼지의 생산성에 미치는 영향)

  • Antibiotics in veterinary medicine have been used to treat disease, promote growth rate and improve feed efficiency. However, alternative sources are needed because of of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and residues of antibiotics. The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of CS682, a fermentation product of Korean soil bacteria, on safety, growth rate and feed efficiency, and to evaluate its value as an alternative for antibiotics used as a feed additive. Two dosages of CS682 (0.1% and 1%) were fed to chickens for 28 days. The results showed that, when compared to chickens in the control group, growth and feed efficiency was improved. Also, mortality, hematology, general clinical signs and necropsy were examined. Chickens in the treatment groups showed no adverse effects. A total of 72 weaning pigs were used to confirm the effects of CS682 at one dose level (0.1%) regarding feed efficiency. Supplementation with 0.1% CS682 also resulted in improved weight gain and feed efficiency ratio. Based on these results, CS682 may be effective in improving feed efficiency safely as a feed additive.

Dietary Factors and Metabolic Syndrome in Middle-Aged Men (중년 남성에서 대사증후군과 식이요인과의 관련성)

  • Objectives: This study aims to identify dietary factors related to metabolic syndrome in middle aged Korean men who were participants in the Fourth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES IV) in 2007. Methods: The study targeted 361 of the 709 men aged between 40 and 64 years for a final analysis; the other 348 surveys had incomplete data which did not allow for the determination of metabolic syndrome. The definition of metabolic syndrome was based on the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III(NCEP ATP III). Results: There were significant differences in the metabolic syndrome of middle-aged men according to age, smoking pack-years, and number of resturant meals per week. Dietary factors such as vitamins, riboflavin, natrium, carbohydrate, protein and lipid intakes were not significant. Conclusions: It was verified that metabolic syndrome in middle-aged men is related to age, smoking pack-years and number of resturant meals per week. Dietary factors were not significantly related. However, further detailed studies in this area are needed.

The Status of Body Protein Metabolism Based on the Urinary Excretion of Total Amino Acids in Normal and Diabetic Rat (뇨중 총아미노산으로부터 추정한 당뇨병 Rat의 체단백질 대사상태)

  • Urinary excretion of total amino acids was measrued in normal and diabetic rats, streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats excreted increased amount of urinary total amino acids and nitrogen. This suggested increased degradation of body protein. Although excretion of total amino acids increased in the diabetic rats, the amino acid pattern of amino acids for both groups were very similar. The efficiency of dietary protein utilization was significantly lower in diabetic rats then that of normal rats. Streptozotocin injeciton affected the urinary excretion of 3-methylhistidine whereas diet did not. These findings suggest that the rate of urinary excretion of total amino acids can be empolyed as an index of protein metabolism, particulary as a simple index in the assesing the status of protein nutrition.

Text-mining Techniques for Metabolic Pathway Reconstruction (대사경로 재구축을 위한 텍스트 마이닝 기법)

  • Metabolic pathway is a series of chemical reactions occuning within a cell and can be used for drug development and understanding of life phenomenon. Many biologists are trying to extract metabolic pathway information from huge literatures for their metabolic-circuit regulation study. We propose a text-mining technique based on the keyword and pattern. Proposed technique utilizes a web robot to collect huge papers and stores them into a local database. We use gene ontology to increase compound recognition rate and NCBI Tokenizer library to recognize useful information without compound destruction. Furthermore, we obtain useful sentence patterns representing metabolic pathway from papers and KEGG database. We have extracted 66 patterns in 20,000 documents for Glycosphingolipid species from KEGG, a representative metabolic database. We verify our system for nineteen compounds in Glycosphingolipid species. The result shows that the recall is 95.1%, the precision 96.3%, and the processing time 15 seconds. Proposed text mining system is expected to be used for metabolic pathway reconstruction.

  • Predicting survival from microarray data is not easy due to the problem of high dimensionality of data and the existence of censored observations. Also the limitation of individual gene analysis causes the shift of focus to the level of gene sets with functionally related genes. For developing a survival prediction model based on pathway information, the methods for selecting a supergene using principal component analysis and testing its significance for each pathway are discussed. Besides, the performance of gene filtering is compared.
