Finally, Musan-Bongdong section in Kyeong-Ui corridor opened on 11. DEC.2007, which is a historical event, because this connection means the restoration of 56 yrs' disconnection since 1951 and also starting point launching to connect china, Mongolia, Russia for continental railway logistic infrastructure. This is also one of master plans about the northern line in TAR, carried out by UNESCAP, so this study will touch up each country's railway status and the next tasks related with trans-continental railway such as North Korea, Russia, China. Also, this study reveal a mid-long term development strategy to improve the North Korea railroad for a continent rail link and international railroad transportation between China and Russia, and also checks the way of confrontation to the domestic infrastructure for the activation of the continent railway and the north and south, investigates concretely how to establish TAR northern part routes as soon as possible.

The purpose of this research is to identify the factors affecting the intention to adopt a transcontinental railway in Korea. We develop an empirically testable model that demonstrates the effects of factors including cost, service, and efficiency of railway transportation, on modal shift intention to railway, attitude of a Railway, and intention to adopt a Transcontinental Railway (KTAR) as a railway transportation mode in the end. A survey method enables us to analyze the model with a structural equation modeling. The empirical analysis reveals that two most influential factors-the modal shift to railway transportation and the attitude of a Railway-play roles in determining intention to adopt the Transcontinental Railway (KTAR). Of the factors of transportation mode, transportation cost has a greater impact than transportation service and transportation efficiency on the intention to adopt a Transcontinental Railway (KTAR).

Recently, as South Korea has joined the OSJD, the rules of the OSJD need to be applied to South Korea. Therefore, the railways are connected to the continent railway in terms of software, but the railway systems in neighboring countries have been developed and operated for a long time, and are quite different with some restrictions in terms of hardware. Therefore, this study analyzed the current railway systems of neighboring countries' based on the TSI used in Europe for technical interoperability. A real operation with the operation models within the specific route was assumed and vector functions for the Infrastructure vector & Rolling stock vector were produced. The IOP value was calculated by working out the interfacing matrix value between the infrastructure vector and rolling stock vector. As a result of calculating the IOP in a specific route, which is from Busan South Korea to Vladivostok with the diesel locomotive hauling freight cars, the value was only 22%, which is fairly low in terms of the interoperability. In other words, there are 77.8% restricting items preventing their interoperability. Such restricted causes should be improved to increase the technical interoperability in the long term. Moreover, and when railway systems are constructed and manufactured, it is important to keep IOP 100% to increase the operating efficiency in continental railways.

0 동북아지역 경제의 급속한 성장과 남북경제교류 활성화로 수송 부문의 발달이 중요성을 더해 가고 있슴 0 그러나 지금까지 남북철도 연결에 관한 논의는 통일 후의 방안 만 고려되었을 뿐, 통일 전 남북철도 연결을 목표로 하는 구체 적 전략이 부재하였고, 특히 해운과의 경쟁력 비교시 철도시스 템에 대한 이해부족이 지적됨 0 남북 및 대륙연결 최적 철도망을 구축하기 위해서는 다음과 같 은 접근 방안이 효과적임 - 남북 철도연결은 순수 경제적 관점에서, 민간기업이 주체가 되어, 중국철도 등을 중개자로 하여 사업을 추진 - 단계적이며 실용적 접근전략에 따라, 1단계로는 경의선 만을 연결하고, 여객취급을 배제하며, 컨테이너 수송만으로 시작하다가, 광물자원 수송 등 확대 - 초기에는 남북간 수송보다는 한국과 중국 . 러시아 간의 컨테 이너 통과수송 취급에 중점 (북한의 수송수입 강조) - 경의선을 따라 남북 군사분계선 근처에 각측의 경계역을 만들 고, 상대촉 파견관의 검색 및 언수에 따라 열차가 휴전선을 통과하여, 반대펀 경계역에 이르면 기관차 및 승무원을 교체 하며, 화차는 일정 기간 이내 되돌려주는 방식 채택으로 남북 철도 시스댐 차이에 따른 기술적 문제 해소 0 대륙철도의 이용은 동북아 권역내 수송에 중점을 두되, E ESCAP의 활동에 따라 TCR,TSR을 이 용한 유럽 및 중동으로 의 수송도 추진하며, 남북 철도연결 추진과 병행하여 열차페리의 도입에 의한 철도- 해운 복합수송 방식의 활성화를 적극 검토활 것이 필요함

This study is the realization of natural gas as ways to advance the South and the continental railway linking basic research was conducted on railway transport. Summary data on the Status of North Korean railway which was to have reviewed the case of LNG railway transportation in Japan and China is becoming an LNG tank containers by rail transportation is done. In the case of Korea, the stability of railway transportation through the development of LNG tank containers and rail transportation pilot project was tested. It was set up and the basic directions of freight trains transport routes and methods for rail transport 7.5 million tons of natural gas per year. TKR ~ TSR between the LNG transportation business is an existing railway south. North. Russia gas pipeline (PNG) instead of a separate project to replace the business SRX (Silk Road Express) is a symbolic project for the early realization of the Eurasian railway linking policy. This study may give greater meaning to secure the iconic railway transport route for continental transport of containers and bulk cargo (coal, ores, etc.).

철도가 국내에 도입된 지 어느덧 100년이라는 세월이 흘렀다. 1906년에 처음으로 항공기가 시범비행을 한 이후, 거의 같은 기간 동안 항공기술은 실로 놀라운 수준에 도달하고 있는 반면 철도의 발전은 너무 미흡한 상태에 있다. 물론 여러 가지 대내외적인 여건 때문에 철도 발전이 여의치 않았지만 이제는 국내 고속철도의 도입, 엄청난 물류비 상승, 대륙철도 개통의 필요성 등 제 2의 철도르네상스라 할 수 있는 호기를 충분히 이용해서 그 동안 정체되었던 철도기술을 충분히 발전시켜야 할 것이다.(중략)

지난해 6.15 남북공동선언을 계기로 남북간의 교류와 협력의 분위기가 조성되고 남북정상회담의 가시적 성과의 하나로 이산가족상봉과 남북철도 연결사업이 시작되어 경의선의 남쪽구간은 상당한 공사진척도를 보이고 있다. 그러나 최근의 상황은 북쪽은 아직 공사조차 시작하지 않고 있는 입장이다. 그러나 이와는 별도로 남북철도의 연결과 이의 대륙철도와의 연결은 '철의 실크로드' 구성과 함께 시베리아횡단철도(TSR)의 이용이 그간의 논의 수준을 넘어 구체화 되었다. 게다가 수교이후 러시아가 가장 적극적으로 접근하고 있는 시베리아횡단철도(TSR)의 활성화 논의는 남북관계가 한러관계 나아가 남·북·러 삼각협력의 복잡한 구도 속에서 논의되고 있는 현실이다.
