  • "The Child culture" is defined as a children's life style in which they interpret their life-situations, using their comprehension system and living out their lives based on those interpretations. Although the current Korean culture of "studying (or learning)" which is referred to as a social phenomenon restraining lively childhood of children, the ideal child culture surely exists. For this research, the total number of 1,049 articles and dissertations published around the year 2000 were analyzed from dual perspectives : value and life of both children and adults. The research literature was reviewed in respect to the following categories : 1) the dimension of how children deal with home life including food, clothing, and shelter, 2) the domain within the boundary of elementary school to understand how they spend their important time, and 3) the domain out of elementary school to understand how they spend their leisure time.

외국 해양대학 항해학과 교과과정의 개발에 관한 연구 - 케냐 해양대학의 경우 -

  • 이 연구는 케냐 해양대학 항해학과 교과과정의 개발을 위해 다음과 같은 다양한 연구들이 수행되었다. 먼저 2장에서 케냐의 교육 및 환경 여건을 살펴보기 위해 케냐의 전반적인 상황과 JKUAT 및 동 대학 기관공학과의 교과과정을 살펴보았다. 이어 3장에서는 항해학과 교과과정의 표준으로 삼아야 할 IMO STCW 협약 해기교육요건과 IMO 모델 코스를 살펴보았다. 이어 4장에서는 항해학과 교과과정의 개발에 참고하기 위해 모범적인 해기교육을 실시하고 있는 미국의 USMMA와 CMA, 필리핀의 PMMA와 MAAP, 한국의 한국해양대학교, 중국의 대련해사대학교, 그리고 베트남의 VIMARU와 HCMUT의 교과과정을 각각 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 5장에서는 이상의 검토 결과를 토대로 케냐 해양대학의 항해학과 교과과정을 제시하였다.

  • 올해 중국에서는 다양한 국제 행사가 펼쳐진다. 특히 오는 5월 18일부터 21일까지 청도에서 개최되는 한$\cdot$중 국제물류포럼, 6월 14일부터 18일까지는 대련에서 개최되는 한$\cdot$$\cdot$일 물류 교류회가 바로 그것이다. 이들 국제물류행사의 주체로는 중국 물류$\cdot$구매 연합회가 있다. 한국물류발전에 한국물류협회, 중국에는 중국물류$\cdot$구매 연합회가 중국물류발전을 위해 헌신하고 있다. 루지앙 중국 물류$\cdot$구매 연합회 회장은 아시아$\cdot$태평양 물류연맹(APLF) 전임회장으로 중국물류업계의 거목이라 할 수 있다. (사)한국물류협회가 창립20주년을 맞이하여 준비한 기획인터뷰 세 번째는 루지앙 중국 물류$\cdot$구매 연합회 회장을 만나 중국의 물류발전과 상황에 대해 들어보았다.

A Study of Philosophical Thinking Methods in Elementary School "Reading" Textbooks (초등학교 '읽기' 교과서의 철학교육적 접근)

  • This study analyzed the contents of "Reading" textbooks for 1st-6th grades. The focus of the analysis was on philosophical thinking methods designed to help children to think for themselves. Following the analysis, methods were designed for the application of effective use of Philosophy in the elementary school curriculum. Analysis of works of children's literature in "reading" textbooks show patterns of logical, ethical and creative thinking. Therefore, "reading" textbooks can be used to help children to think philosophically. Five stages of discussion can be applied in the classroom; these are: establish the issues, outline the process of discussion, discuss the issues, evaluate and summarize the discussion, apply the learning to other subjects. Teachers can use philosophical thinking methods to improve the quality and quantity of instruction with various questions, having children express their opinions, interpreting their thoughts clearly, maintaining logical consistency, and evaluating the procedures and results of discussion. These methods can be used in the teaching-learning process in the elementary school to develop rich findings and meaningful communication.

A Feminist Approach to Picture Books for Kindergarten Children (유아용 그림책에 관한 페미니즘적 접근)

  • This analysis of the portrayal of characters in 74 picture books used in kindergarten focused on the gender types and roles of girls and boys, adult females, adult males, and feminist perspectives or sexism. Results showed that girls were rewarded according to their abilities and accomplishments, and they were considered to have equal rights; boys were depicted as dominant, positive, logical, courageous and having initiative; adult females, especially mothers at home, were responsible exclusively for housekeeping and child rearing; adult males, including fathers, were depicted as dominant characters in a variety of professional occupations and social activities, nonetheless, in many books, children were depicted as androgynous personalities having human rights. Though these results show changes in gender stereotypes from the 1970s and 1980s, subtle biases of gender still remain in children's books.

An analysis of children's books used in the educational activities in kindergarten (유치원의 도서 활용 실태 분석)

  • This analysis of the children's books used in kindergarten classroom activities focused on educational meanings of the books. The analysis included books used in 8 kindergartens in 1999. Finding were that 76.6% of books were published in the 1990s; 60.7% of the lines per page were over 5 lines; only 55 of 542 books were recommended as good books by public institutions; half of the books provided factual knowledges or informations; Korean books included more realistic than fantastic fiction while the opposite was true of foreign books; in Korean books, male characters appeared far more often than females; 70.1% of the themes of the books were related to the ten themes of life suggested by the Ministry of Education; and 44.8% of the contents included moral values while only 17.5% of those included adventure, hobbies or pastimes.

An Analysis of Fashion Behavior of Male College Students in Dalian, China (중국 대련 남자대학생의 패션행동분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the factor of fashion behavior and to identify fashion behavior differences according to demorgraphic/physical characteristics and parents' background of male college student in Dalian, China. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 250 male college students living in Dalian, China in June 2007. Data analysis method were used to Crombach's a, reliabilty, factor analysis, frequency analysis, ANOVA, and Sheffe's test for the post hoctest. The results of this study were as follows: Fashion behavior factors were analyzed into 6 factors such as fashion satisfaction oriented, high price oriented, fashion leader oriented, practical fashion oriented, others defendence oriented. There were significant difference in demographic variables such as age, major and physical variables such as height, weight, clothing size and parents' background such as education, job, and income.

Characteristics of Students Gifted in Science : Creativity, Environment, and Academic Self-Efficacy (과학영재의 창의성, 환경, 그리고 학업적 자기효능감에 관한 연구)

  • The present study examined differences between students gifted in science and general students in creativity, environment, and academic self-efficacy. Subjects were eighth graders, 66 students gifted in science and 105 general students. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Stepwise multiple regression. Results indicated that the students gifted in science were higher in creative thinking, creative personality, academic self-efficacy, and home environment than the general students. Self-regulatory efficacy was the most critical predictor of creativity.

Children's Negotiation Levels with their Age and Gender (아동의 연령과 성별에 따른 협상수준)

  • This study was to find out children's Negotiation Levels(NLs) according to their age and gender. The subjects for this study were 143 children of 7, 9, 12 years. Two children dyads participated in the experimental play situation with Rokenbok Electronic Toy Systems. The NLs in children's interactive dialogue & actions were scored with Stone, Robinson & Taylor(1980)'s 'Negotiation of Task Completion Coding Manual'. They were coded into Level 0(no interaction), Level l(one way interaction), Level 2(reciprocally interaction), Level 3(mutual or cooperative interaction). The results were as follows; 1) 12-year-old children negotiated with higher level than 7-and 9-year old children 2) Boys' NLs average were higher than girls'. These results imply that 1) the fluctuation of NLs in childhood, especially around 10 years, should be interpreted carefully, 2) various measuring kits for negotiation should be developed considering children's characteristics, such as age, gender etc.

  • NUI(Natural User Interface)는 사용자가 신체부위를 사용하여 인터페이스 할 수 있는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 NUI 공간에서 체감형 게임을 시행하였다. 게임은 태권도게임으로 사용자와 컴퓨터간의 대련이며, 게임 시 사용자의 심전도 신호를 측정하였다. 사용자는 심전도데이터를 게임 시에 사용자 프로파일로 전송한다. 전송받은 심전도신호로 사용자의 심박변이도를 분류하여 분류기 실험을 시행하고 정확도를 측정하였다. 실험은 체감형 게임 시행 전과 시행 후의 상태로 나누어 실험하였으며, 분류기는 Decision Tree를 사용하였다. 실험결과 심박변이율은 게임 시행 후 정확도가 4.16% 높게 도출되었다.
