Major gene interactions effect identification on the quality of Hanwoo by radial graph (방사형그래프를 활용한 한우의 품질관련 주요 유전자 상호작용 효과 규명)

  • It is well known that disease of human and economic traits of livestock are affected a lot by gene combination effect rather than a single gene effect. But existing methods have disadvantages such as heavy computing, many expenses and long time. In order to overcome those drawbacks, SNPHarvester was developed to find the main gene combinations among the many genes. In this paper, we used the superior gene combination which are related to the quality of the Korean beef cattle among sets of SNPs by SNPHarvester, and identified the superior genotypes using radial graph which can enhance various qualities of Korean beef among selected SNP combinations.

수학과 협동 학습에서 협동적 문제 해결의 평가

  • 요즈음 수학 수업에서 협동 학습을 활용하여 문제 해결을 하는 경우가 많이 늘었다. 학생들이 소집단에서 함께 활동하면 더 나은 문제 해결자가 된다는 것을 알기 때문이다. 그러나 학생들에게 협동적인 상황에서 문제 해결을 하게 하면서 그 평가는 개인 평가나 전통적인 평가에 그치는 경우가 많다. 소집단 협동 학습은 소집단의 구성원이 협동을 할 때 그 효과가 큰 것이며, 소집단 협동 학습에서의 평가는 소집단에 있는 학생들이 수행한 것을 참되게(Authentic) 평가하여야 문제 해결에 대한 올바른 정보를 얻을 수 있고 각 학생들로 하여금 협동 학습에 적극적으로 참여하여 문제를 해결하게 할 수 있다. 만일 협동적인 문제 해결을 하였는데 개인 평가를 실시한다면 학생들은 집단에서 협동할 필요성을 적게 느끼게 되어, 학생들은 협동 학습에 적극적으로 참여하지 않으려 할 것이다. 1990년대 수학교육에 많은 영향을 끼치고 있는 NCTM의 Curriculum and Evaluation Standard for School Mathematics에서도 수학 지도 방법과 평가 방법이 일치하여야 한다고 강조하고 있다. 본고에서는 이와 같은 필요성에 의거하여 수학과 소집단 협동 학습의 유형을 알아보고, 협동적 문제 해결의 평가 방법을 알아보고자 한다.

An Analysis of Effects and Attitude-Interest of Small Group Cooperative Learning on Some Areas in Elementary School Mathematics (수학과 영역별 소집단 협동 학습의 효과 및 태도ㆍ흥미도 분석)

  • This study examines effects of small group cooperative learning on areas of mathematics such as number and calculation, figure, and measurement, and changes of attitude-interest in math in elementary schools. Seventy eight second graders from Jinhae City were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was subdivided into small groups of four students who belonged in different levels of math performance. The subdivision was renewed whenever each area was covered. An examination paper which had been developed by Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development and Kyeongsangnamdo Office of Education was given to the subjects. Also, a questionnaire was developed and given to the participants. The results show that, in general, the small group cooperative learning had good effects on the students' ability to solve math problems and, in articular, greater effects on the ability of low-level students. It is revealed that the interaction between the students in small groups affected their attitudes toward and interest in mathematics in a positive way, but did not make perceivable changes in self-confidence of the young Learners.

The Effect of Grouping by Extraversion and Introversion in POE Learning Applied to Elementary School Science Class (초등학교 자연 수업에 적용한 POE 학습에서 내·외향성에 따른 소집단 구성의 효과)

  • In this study, the effects of grouping by extraversion and introversion in POE learning applied to elementary science class on students' achievement, the perception of learning environment and the attitude toward science instruction were investigated. Ninety-five 5th graders were assigned to the control group and the experimental groups, and taught about acid and base for 9 class hours. In the experimental groups, the homogeneous small group was composed of four introverts or four extroverts, and the heterogeneous small group was composed of two introverts and two extroverts. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the homogeneous group performed better than the control group in the application subtest of the achievement test. Significant difference in learning difficulty was found between the heterogeneous group and the control group. In the attitude toward science class, significant interaction effect was found between the instruction and the extraversion/introversion.

Effect of Lidocaine Compounds on the Expansion of Lipid Monolayer at the Air/Water Interface (국부 마취제로 이용되는 Lidocaine 화합물들이 공기/물 계면에 형성된 지질 단분자 막의 팽창효과에 미치는 영향)

  • Lidocaine compounds have widely been used as local anesthetics. Regarding the molecular mechanism for anesthesia by lidocaine, it is proposed that lidocaine molecules penetrate to the hydrophobic region of cell membrane and expand the membrane volume, producing a change in protein conformation that blocks sodium permeability or lidocaine molecules directly adsorb into lidocaine receptor in the protein channel without expanding the cell membrane. But these proposals have never been proven experimentally. In this study, the expansion of cell membrane by lidocaine compounds was investigated by employing lipid monolayer at the air/water interface as the mimetic system of cell membrane. It was found that oil-soluble lidocaine contracted the area/molecule of lipid in the monolayer of phosphatidyl choline, sphingomyelin, DS-PL95E and lipoid, but expanded the monolayer of phosphatidyl ethanolamine only in a certain range of mixing ratios. On the contrary, water-soluble lidocaine-HCl salt expanded the monolayers of all lipids used in this study.

Anti-aging Effects of Prescription Extracts Containing Forsythia viridissima L. (연교를 함유한 처방단 추출물의 항노화 효과)

  • Forsythia fructus has been shown to have antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-aging and whitening effects. This work was carried out to investigate the anti-aging effects of Forsythia viridissima-prescription extracts (Yeongyoseungma-tang, Gamiyeongyoseungma-tang, Hoechunyangkyeok-san) on skin. Skin anti-aging effect of Forsythia viridissima-prescription extracts (Yeongyoseungma-tang, Gamiyeongyoseungma-tang, Hoechunyangkyeok-san) was evaluated by using antioxidant assay, anti-glycation activity, inhibitory effect of tyrosinase activity, expression of type I procollagen and UVA-induced matrix metalloproteinase-1 on HS68 cells, and reduction of ${\alpha}$-MSH-induced melanin on B16F1 cells. Forsythia viridissima-prescription extracts showed anti-oxidative and anti-glycation activity. The pectinex hydrolysed extract from Yeongyoseungma-tang 75% EtOH extract and Gamiyeongyoseungma-tang 75% EtOH extract increased the type I procollagen synthesis, and decreased the UVA-induced MMP-1 expression on HS68 cells. The pectinex hydrolysed extracts of Hoechunyangkyeok-san 75% EtOH extract had the inhibitory effect of melanin synthesis on B16F1 cells. Based on these results, we suggest that Forsythia viridissima-prescription extracts may be useful as a potential source of functional anti-aging cosmetics.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중화면 분할 제작 콘텐츠 효과에 대해서 제안한다. 다중화면 분할 영상은 기존의 단일 영상 제공에 비해 2개, 3개, 4개, 9개의 화면을 각각 분할하여 다양한 영상들을 제공함으로써 보다 풍부한 정보 제공과 영상의 화려함과 미학을 제공한다. 이와 반대로 여러 화면의 정보들을 동시에 제공함으로써 한 화면에 집중하지 못함으로 여러 다양한 정보들을 수용하지 못하는 단점도 있다. 그러나 단일 화면보다는 다중 분할 화면으로 다양한 정보를 제공함으로써 얻는 효과가 더 크다고 사료한다. 이러한 다중화면 효과는 시청자들에게는 더 흥미로운 영상으로 충족 될 것이라고 사료한다.

  • 계류라인은 해양관측부이 혹은 해양구조물을 일정일치에 계류시키기 위해서 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 상부구조물의 거동에 의한 계류라인의 거동특성을 파악하기 위하여, 상부 윗단에서 일정주기와 진폭으르 가진되는 경우에 장력과 변위의 응답을 살펴보았다. 수평으로 가진되는 경우에 규칙적으로 가진됨에도 불구하고 맨윗단에서 장력은 가진 주파수 성분 이외에 고주파수 성분이 함께 응답하였다. 이 때 고주파수 성분은 계류라인의 길이와 장력에 따라서 다른 성분으로 나타났는데, 이 성분은 상부단에서 발생한 에너지가 전달되어 해저고정단에서 다시 반사되어 발생하는 것으로 판단되어 진다. 향후 이 성분에 대한 정량적인 연구가 필요하다. 수직으로 가진되는 경우에는 장력이 충격력 효과로 나타났는데, 이것은 지반과의 상호작용에 의한 것으로 판단된다.

Comparison of Effects of Cognitive Health Promotion Program on Cognitive Function, Depression, and Quality of Life in Elderly depending on Group Size (인지건강증진 프로그램의 집단크기별 효과 비교)

  • The purpose of this study done by group-based application was to clarify the effect of cognitive health promotion program depending on group size. Data of 377 elderly who had a normal cognitive function was obtained through each health centers located in Incheon city. In the result, there was significant effects on cognition and quality of life, but no effect on depression. Also theres was no difference of the program's effect depending the group sizes. The result of this study would support the program of this study could be provided to more elderly by group-based application.

A Survey on the Practice of Small-Group Instruction in Elementary School Mathematics (초등학교 수학 수업에서 소집단 학습의 적용 실태 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the small-group instruction of mathematics in elementary schools. For this, a sample of 742 teachers of elementary schools completed the survey. As a result, about 27.8% of the teachers reported using small group instruction while they worked with one group or they assigned to other groups worked alone. Only 2% of the teachers reported using small group in which students were encouraged to participated cooperatively. This study discusses the five issues about small group instruction in elementary school. The five issues were investigated in this survey. First, major teaching method in mathematics classroom and using of small group instruction were described. Second, frequency and period of small-group instruction were reported. Third, grouping method in small-group instruction was described. And Fourth, effect grouping practices of small-group instruction were described. Fifth, the model of small group instruction and assessment in small-group instruction were reported.
