  • This paper deals with a method to measure the thickness of scale-layer, iron oxide formed on the surface of the rolling steel, using a dielectric lens antenna. The dielectric lens antenna has an independent characteristic with the frequency in the X-band and changes the spherical wave radiated from a horn antenna into a plane wave at the focusing point. Using this concept, we regard a scale-layer on the rolling steel as a dielectric-PEC(Perfect Electric Conductor) layer and apply a theoretical analysis of the normal-incident plane wave. To reduce the phase error arising from the use of the dielectric lens antenna, this paper utilizes a regression process algorithm. In comparison with the conventional iteration algorithm, the present algorithm led to a unique solution for the thickness of the scale-layer.

  • In this paper, we analyze the antenna performance changes caused by the aircraft structure, diffraction and reflection, when the direction finding antenna used in the aircraft is mounted on the aircraft. Direction finding antenna is an antenna that receives radar threat signal in the direction finding device of aircraft electronic warfare system. Recently, because various antenna are mounted on an aircraft, various analyzes such as antenna performance and interference analysis are required. Therefore, the electromagnetic analysis was carried out by installing a broadband direction finding antenna with 50% bandwidth on simulated aircraft, and the direction finding performance was analyzed by comparing the single antenna performance with the performance mounted on the aircraft. The analyzed direction finding accuracy was $6.47^{\circ}$ RMS and predicted to be suitable as an antenna for aircraft direction finding antenna.

  • In this paper, a monopulse fled for three mode $2{\times}2$ array feed horn antenna was designed. Gain of single feed was 8.25dB. Increasing property of gain and rectangular waveguide and reflection of free space is decreased because it has structure extending to electric plane at connected part from transformation to free space. When fled port1 and port2 is placed vertically and thickness of aperture hem is reduced, isolation is satisfied with property of lower -25dB. Also, at higher frequency, it is confirmed that isolation is improved. Combination of electric field occurs less influence because port1 and port3 is placed horizontally and distribution of electric field is connected to parallel. However, because of combination of electric field, it is more improved from 2dB to 6dB than isolation of port1 and port2. Direct combination occult less effect at port1 and port4 than effect of port2 and port3, it is lower -35dB.

  • This paper present a waveguide slot 16${\times}$16 assay antenna with diaphragms for 38 GHz frequency band. Diaphragms are used to control the impedance and to minimize the return loss of the structure. A 20 dB Chebyshev array of 16 waveguide slots has been designed by optimizing the positions and sizes of the diaphragms. A serial feeding system with $\pi$- and T-junction power dividers has also designed to get a 20 dB Chebyshev power distribution. A 16${\times}$16 slot array was designed for a Fixed Wireless Access System at 38 GHz frequency band, manufactured using a computer controlled milling technique, and measured for the return -19 dB and the frequency band of 740 MHz.

  • In this paper, a conformal type $1{\times}4$ microstrip patch array antenna with tilted antenna beam is presented for UWB sensor applications. Each antenna element comprises E-shaped patch with L-probe feeding to increase the bandwidth. The tilted antenna beam of 20 degree can be achieved with 42 ps microstrip delay lines at the series feeding network with T-junctions. The measured reflection coefficient is >9 dB at 3.5~4.5 GHz. The measured antenna gain and HPBW are >10 dBi and <30 degree at 3.75~4.25 GHz.

  • In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) scanning system based on two line lasers. This system uses two line lasers with different wavelengths as light sources. 532-nm and 630-nm line lasers can compensate for missing scan data generated by geometrical occlusion. It also can classify two laser planes by using the red and green channels. For automatic registration of scanning data, we control a stepping motor and divide the motor's rotational degree of freedom into micro-steps. To this end, we design a control printed circuit board for the laser and stepping motor, and use an image processing board. To compute a 3D point cloud, we obtain 200 and 400 images with laser lines and segment lines on the images at different degrees of rotation. The segmented lines are thinned for one-to-one matching of an image pixel with a 3D point.

  • In this paper, an AccessPoint compact microstrip patch antenna was designed by using L-shaped feeding structure of a Fractal Structure and the compact antenna can be obtained by the rare formed presence of the resonance flow which is called "Crossed-Diagonal". CST's MicroWave5.0 was used for the design. As the operating characteristics of the patch antenna, it showed the characteristic of 1031 [MHz] or 29.4% in the range of 3.202 [GHz] ~ 4.233 [GHz] when an input return loss is less -10 [dB] and VSWR 2:1, also as it is in this paper, we got simulation results such as, gains of the E-plane and H-plane are 8.7 [dBi] and 8.6 [dBi] for this is the single patch, and 3 [dB] beamwidth is $43.9^{\circ}$ at E-plane and $78.7^{\circ}$ at H-plane.

  • We report the 94 GHz CPW branch-line bandpass filter for planar integrated millimeter-wave circuits. The branch-line coupler operates as a transversal filtering section by connecting the coupling ports to the open load stubs and taking the isolation port as the output node. For design of the 94 GHz branch-line bandpass filter, we built the CPW library and optimized the characteristic impedances and the lengths of the branch-line coupler and the open load stubs. The fabricated 94 GHz bandpass filter exhibits an insertion loss of 2.5 dB with an 11.7 % 3 dB relative bandwidth and the return loss is -18.5 dB at a center frequency of 94 GHz.

  • In this paper, the design of longitudinal shunt slot array monopulse antenna in the broad wall of waveguide for Ka band millimeter-wave seeker, Dip-Brazing method for fabrication and experiment results are presented. The proposed antenna consists of radiating slots by using Elliot's array synthesis procedure, probe-exciting feed structure for improving the return loss bandwidth and monopulse comparator. Element weigthings in the array have been calculated by continuous Taylor aperture distribution. Also, the simulation tool has been used to characterize the individual isolated slot, which has subsequently been used in Elliot's method to design the slot array efficiently. The designed antenna is fabricated using Dip-Brazing method. The gain of measured antenna is 28.4 dBi. Antenna beamwidth and side lobe levels are similar to the design result we expect.

  • In this paper, a 2.6 GHz switched parasitic array(SPA) antenna is designed to resolve the device interference in the femtocell. The designed SPA antenna structure consists of a central ${\lambda}/4$ monopole antenna as a radiator and surrounding four parasitic elements operating as a reflector or a director depending on the switching state. In addition, open state monopoles around the parasitic elements are placed to improve the directivity. The designed antenna utilizes RF FETs as switching elements instead of conventional PIN diodes, which enables beam steering with a simple structure consuming low power. To select the proper FET switch, the performance of the SPA antenna depending on the switch characteristics is analyzed. The fabricated antenna has 65 mm radius and 35 mm height, which shows about 15 dB front-back-ratio(FBR) at 2.6 GHz and enables eight-directional beam steering.
