The magnetic Hut leakage (MFL) type nondestructive testing (NDT) method is widely used to detect corrosion and defects, mechanical deformation of the underground gas pipelines. The object pipeline is magnetically saturated by the magnetic system with permanent magnet and yokes. Because of the strong magnetic field enough to saturate the pipe, there could be distortion of the sensing signals because of the magnetization of the pipeline itself, To detect the defects precisely, the sensing signals are need to be compensated to eliminate the distortions coming from the media hysteresis. In this paper, the magnetizations of the pipeline in MFL type NDT are analyzed by Preisach model and 3D FEM. The distortions of the sensing signals are analyzed.

Generally, the properties of metamaterials are analyzed based on the infinite array of the unit cells. In real application of the metamaterial, however, the array has to be finite. Hence, it is important that a method can analyze the effect of the finite array of the metamaterial. In this paper, a model is proposed which can calculate the scattering by a large-size finite array of an I-shaped metamaterial without a full-wave simulation. The proposed model is based on the surface current estimation of each unit cells. The ratio of the current distribution on a finite array of the metamaterial to that of the infinite array of the same metamaterial for a TM polarized incident wave is approximated as a quartic polynomial. The coefficients of the polynomial are a function of the physical dimension of the metallic patch. Hence, the current distribution of the finite metamaterial can be estimated based on the proposed polynomial and the current of the infinite array. The scattered field is calculated by using the surface current model. The proposed model is numerically and experimentally verified by comparing calculated and measured RCS(Radar Cross Section) data.
A new technique of simultaneous inversion for 3-D seismic velocity structure by using direct, reflected, and refracted waves is applied to the southeast part of the Korean Peninsula including Pohang Basin, Kyongsang Basin and Ryongnam Massif. Pg, Sg, PmP, SmS, Pn, and Sn arrival times of 44 events with 554 seismic rays are inverted for locations and crustal structure. $6{\times}6$ with $0.5^{\circ}$ and 8 layers (4 km each layer) model was inverted. 3-D seismic crustal velocity tomography including eight sections from surface to Moho, ten profiles along latitude and longitude are analyzed. The results are as follows: 1) the average velocity and thickness of sediment are 5.04 km/s and 3-4 km, and the velocity of basement is 6.11 km/s. The shape of velocity in shallower layer is agreement with Bouguer gravity anomaly (Cho et al., 1997). 2) the velocities fluctuate strongly in the upper crust. The velocity distribution of the lower crust under Conrad appears basically horizontal. 3) the average depth of Moho is 30.4 km, and velocity is 8.01 km/s. 4) from the velocity and depth of the sediment, the thickness, velocity and form of the upper crust, and the depth and form of Moho, we can find the obvious differences among Ryongnam Massif, Kyongsang Basin and Pohang Basin. 5) the deep faults (a Ulsan series faults) near Kyongju and Pohang areas can be found to be normal and/or thrust faults with detachment extended to the bottom of the upper crust.
A new technique of simultaneons inversion for 3-D seismic velocity structure by using direct, reflected, and refracted waves is applied to the center of the Korean Peninsula including Pyongnam Basin, Kyonggi Massif, Okchon Fold Zone, Taebaeksan Fold Zone, Ryongnam Massif and Kyongsang Basin. Pg, Sg, PmP, SmS, Pn, and Sn arrival times of 32 events with 404 seismic rays are inverted for locations and crustal structure. 5 ($1^{\circ}$ along the latitude)${\times}6$ ($0.5^{\circ}$ along the longitude) ${\times}8$ block (4 km each layer) model was inverted. 3-D seismic crustal velocity tomography including eight sections from the surface to the Moho, eight profiles along latitude and longitude and the Moho depth distribution was determined. The results are as follows: (1) the average velocity and thickness of sediment are 5.15 km/sec and 3-4 km, and the velocity of basement is 6.12 km/sec. (2) the velocities fluctuate strongly in the upper crust, and the velocity distribution of the lower crust under Conrad appears basically horizontal. (3) the average depth of Moho is 29.8 km and velocity is 7.97 km/sec. (4) from the sedimentary depth and velocity, basement thickness and velocity, form of the upper crust, the Moho depth and form of the remarkable crustal velocity differences among Pyongnam Basin, Kyonggi Massif, Okchon Zone, Ryongnam Massif and Kyongsang Basin can be found. (5) The different crustal features of ocean and continent crust are obvious. (6) Some deep index of the Chugaryong Rift Zone can be located from the cross section profiles. (7) We note that there are big anisotropy bodies near north of Seoul and Hongsung in the upper crust, implying that they may be related to the Chugaryong Rift Zone and deep fault systems.
A new kidney bean cultivar, "Hwanghyeob 1" was developed at the National Institute of Crop Science in 2005. "Hwanghyeob 1" was selected from a cross between KLG50064 and KLG50073. It has determinate growth habit, white flower, yellow pod color, oval shape of crossed section of pod at the harvesting time for edible pod, white seed coat and middle seed size (21.7 grams per 100 seeds). The average yield of edible pod of "Hwanghyeob 1" was 23.55 M/T per hectare in the yield trials which was carried out at the green house in spring and autumn in 2005. This yield level was 4 percent higher than that of the check cultivar "Kangnangkong 1".
The objective of this work was to examine the effect of rice flour sourdough fermented with omija (Schizandra chinensis) extract on the quality characteristics of bread. Five rice sourdough concentrations (0, 15, 30, 45, and 60%) were used in order to ascertain the best bread composition. Bread qualities were determined by means of physicochemical analysis and consumer acceptability test. The results showed that the dough prepared with 15% rice flour sourdough fermented with omija extract had a positive impact on the bread quality such as volume, hardness, springiness, and consumer acceptability. This study suggests that the rice flour sourdough fermented with omija extract could be added up to 15% without quality changes for making bread.

The divergence section of a double-deck tunnel can be divided into a 'widening pre-divergence section', a large cross-section with a cap shape and a 'post-divergence section' where the separation between the main and the branch tunnel is made. Since the cross-section of the widening pre-divergence section is considerably larger than that of the post-divergence section, the influence of excavation due to the different sizes and shapes in the cross-section should be considered in the examination of the tunnel stability. In this study, the effect of the preceding excavation, that is the excavation of the widening pre-divergence section, on excavation stability of the post-divergence section was examined by varying the excavation methods and bench lengths through 3D finite element analysis. The results showed that although the effects of the excavation methods and the bench lengths are not significant on the variation of principal stresses, the preceding excavation causes a relatively large variation on the stresses which may have an impact on the stability of the post-divergence section from the comparison of Stress-Strength Ratio (SSR) between the cases with and without the consideration of the preceding excavation effect by 2D finite element analysis.
We observed changes in the properties of the glaze layer according to the content of iron oxide and inferred the composition, content, and environment of the materials used in the past during the production process of black ware. First, experiments were conducted using different ratios of iron oxide, feldspar, calcite, and ash at different temperatures and firing environments; the characteristics of glaze were classified into five groups in the oxidation environment. Different properties were identified in the reducing environment above 1200℃. The crystal identified in the experiment was similar to the glaze characteristics in the excavated black ware. The crystal phase appeared in four groups: band shape, circular, arborescent phase, and needle crystal, depending on the change in the content of iron oxide. However, the difference in crystals did not appear significantly at high temperatures. In addition, crystals of glaze were divided into two groups depending on the component ratio. The presence or absence of feldspar is thought to affect crystallinity and amorphous iron oxide and the changes in the glaze layer changed substantially depending on the amount of iron oxide. In particular, it was confirmed that the aspects of iron oxide in the oxidation and reduction environments were different and, therefore, crystallization due to the firing environment also affected the optical characteristics.
The aim of this study was to develop a method for measuring the slumping resistance of resin composites and to relate it to the rheological characteristics. Five commercial hybrid composites (Z100. Z250. DenFil, Tetric Ceram. ClearFil) and a nanofill composite (Z350) were used to make disc-shaped specimens of 2 mm thickness. An aluminum mold with square shaped cutting surface was pressed onto the composite discs to make standardized imprints. The imprints were light-cured either immediately (non-slumped) or after waiting for 3 minutes at $25^{\circ}C$ (slumped). White stone replicas were made and then scanned for topography using a laser 3-D profilometer. Slumping resistance index (SRI) was defined as the ratio of the groove depth of the slumped specimen to that of the non-slumped specimen. The pre-cure viscoelasticity of each composite was evaluated by an oscillatory shear test and normal stress was measured by a squeeze test using a rheometer. Flow test was also performed using a flow tester. Correlation analysis was performed to investigate the relationship between the viscoelastic properties and the SRI. SRI varied between the six materials (Z100 < DenFil < Z250 < ClearFil < Tetric Ceram < Z350). The SRI was strongly correlated with the viscous (loss) shear modulus G' but not with the loss tangent. Also. slumping resistance was more closely related to the resistance to shear flow than to the normal stress. Slumping tendency could be quantified using the imprint method and SRI. The index may be applicable to evaluate the clinical handling characteristics of composites.
The great jar estimated in Proto-Three Kingdoms period was found at the site from Pyeongtaek Daechuri and the bonding traces from pieces destroyed when they were excavated are observed. Therefore this study would figure out the components of bonding material used in great jars by optical microscope, FT-IR, py-GC/MS and the kind of textile attaching to great jar by transmitted light microscope. As a result of optical microscope for the cross-section, black material is uniformly applied between a piece of jar and the part of bonding and the textile line are observed. Black bonding material is resulted in korean rhus lacquer by FT-IR and py-GC/MS and the kind of textile is identified as hemp by transmitted light microscope. Materials for repairing archaeological objects are hardly known causing little information, but this study proves that the bonding material had used lacquer for great jars before Proto-Three Kingdoms period. Therefore if ancient bonding materials are systematically analysed in the further studies, it would be significant help for studying bonding and restoration materials of ancient objects.
