  • 본 실험에서는 수 MW/$ extrm{cm}^2$ 의 매우 낮은 영역의 세기에서 순수한 GaAs의 bulk에 대하여 실험한 결과 비선형 흡수가 나타남을 관찰 하였으며, 더불어 자유전하 흡수 계수를 여러 가지 세기의 빛에서 측정한 결과 자유전하 흡수 단면적이 빛의 세기에 따라 변화하는 것을 관찰하였다.$^{(1)}$ GaAs의 굴절률이 3.6으로 매우 커서 Fabry-Perot 효과가 나타나므로 시료의 한쪽 면을 SiN로 무반사 코팅을 하여 실험 하였다. GaAs의 표면은 쉽게 레이저 빛에 의해 손상을 입는 것을 고려하여 같은 자리에서 여러 번의 실험을 하여 같은 결과가 나오는 것을 확인하여 실험 결과를 얻었다. 사용된 레이저는 Nd:YAG 레이저로서 1.064 $mu extrm{m}$의 파장에서 7 나노초의 펄스를 방출한다. 빛의 세기는 편광기와 half wave plate를 이용하여 변화 시켰다. Comparison of Safety Margin of Shallow Foundation on Weathered Soil Layer According to Design Methods (설계법에 따른 풍화토 지반 얕은기초의 안전여유 비교)

  • In this paper bearing capacity and safety margin of shallow foundation on weathered soil ground against shear failure by using current design method of allowable stress design (ASD), load resistance factor design (LRFD) based on reliability analysis and partial safety factor design (PSFD) in Eurocode were estimated and compared to each other. Results of the plate loading test used in construction and design were collected and analysis of probability statistics on soil parameters affecting the bearing capacity of shallow foundation was performed to quantify the uncertainty of them and to investigate the resistance bias factor and covalence of ultimate bearing capacity. For the typical sections of shallow foundation in domestic field as examples, reliability index was obtained by reliability analysis (FORM) and the sensitivity analysis on soil parameters of probability variables was performed to investigate the effect of probability variable on shear failure. From stability analysis for these sections by ASD, LRFD with the target reiability index corresponding to the safety factor used in ASD and PSDF, safety margins were estimated respectively and compared.

  • In this paper, we present an indirect method of elastic modulus measurement for various lamination layers formed on polymer-based compliant substrates. Although the elastic modulus of every component is crucial for mechanically reliable microelectronic devices, it is difficult to accurately measure the film properties because the lamination layers are hardly detached from the substrate. In order to resolve the problem, 3-point bending test is conducted with a film-substrate specimen and area transformation rule is applied to the cross-sectional area of the film region. With known substrate modulus, a modulus ratio between the film and the substrate is calculated using bending stiffness of the multilayered specimen obtained from the 3-point bending test. This method is verified using electroplated copper specimens with two types of film-substrate structure; double-sided film and single sided film. Also, common dielectric layers, prepreg (PPG) and dry film solder resist (DF SR), are measured with the double-sided specimen type. The results of copper (110.3 GPa), PPG (22.3 GPa), DF SR (5.0 GPa) were measured with high precision.

  • To fundamentally solve the problem of deterioration of concrete structures, it has been researched that the high durable concrete structure reinforced with the FRP rebar can be one of major solution to the newly-developed concrete structure. FRP rebar has lots of advantages such as non-corrosive, high performance and light weight against the conventional steel rebar. Among these kinds of FRP rebars, GFRP rebar has usually been considered as the best reinforcement because of its economic point of view. Even though the material capacity of the GFRP rebar was already investigated, there are some problems such as low modulus of elastic that will be cause for degrade of the serviceability of flexural concrete member reinforced with the GFRP rebar. Thus, the deflection characteristics of the GFRP rebar reinforced concrete structure should be considered then investigated. In this study, ACI 440 guideline (2003), ISIS Canada Design Manual (2001) and Toutanji et al. (2000) was considered for predicting the moment of inertia of the concrete beam reinforced with the GFRP rebar. And it was also evaluated that load-deflection relationship had a good accordance with the test and analysis result. In the result of this study, it could be estimated that the load-deflection relationship using the suggested equation of moment of inertia in this study indicated better accordance with the test result than that of the others until failure.

  • 보 상류의 유속 및 수심과 같은 흐름 조건은 보, 하천 형상, 그리고 하류 흐름 특성에 의해 좌우된다. 본 연구에서는 하류 조건에 따라 보 상류의 흐름 특성에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 구형단면의 수로에 하천설계지침(2002)에 따라 보를 제작하여 설치하였으며 보에서의 임계수심 및 이에 따른 유량의 변화를 파악하였으며 실험결과를 기존 문헌과 비교$\cdot$분석하였다. 또한 자유 월류로 빠른 유속을 지닌 흐름이 수로의 마찰저항과 하류 배수효과에 의해 에너지 소멸로 나타나는 도수현상을 관측하여 발생특성을 파악하였다. 도수의 발생조건은 Posey와 Hsing(1938)에 제시한 결과와 유사한 결과를 보였으며 하류영향에 따른 도수 발생 위치는 하류단 수위와 일정한 관계를 갖고 있으나 유량과는 선형적인 관계를 보이지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 임계수심 설정에 대해 Knap(1960)이 제시한 산정식과 비교한 결과 유량이 작은 경우 거의 일치하는 결과를 보였으나 유량이 증가할수록 오차가 커졌다. 임계수심 전$\cdot$후의 유량계수를 살펴본 결과 하류 조건에 의해 임계수심을 넘으면 유량계수가 자유 월류 시보다 약 $2\%\~6.5\%의 감소를 나타냈으며 공급유량이 $0.05m^3/s$ 일 경우 유량계수의 차이가 가장 큰 것을 알 수 있다.

  • The processing paper has devoted to the theory of the flow equations, the basic derivative procedure, the meaning of a valve flow coefficient $C_v$, the valve Reynolds R$R_{ev}$ and its application for liquid control valves, which applicable under the condition of a non-critical flow and the case of piping geometry factor $F_p$=1.0. However there is no information on the effects of fittings, a critical flow and the flow resistance coefficient of a valve equivalent to that of pipe which is conveniently used in the piping design. Since the piping systems of plants or ships generally contain various fittings such as expanders and reducers due to different size between pipes and valves and there may occur a critical flow, that a mass flowrate is maintained to be constant, due to the pressure drop in a piping when a liquid is initially maintainder ar a saturated temperature or at nearby corresponding to upstream pressure, system designer should have a knowledge of the effect to flow due to fittings and the critical flow phenomenon of a liquid. This study is performed to inform system designers with the critical flow phenomenon of a liquid, a valve resistance coefficient, a valve geometry factor and their applications.

A Study of Three Dimensional Flow Characteristics near the Porous Wall (다공성 방풍벽의 3차원 유동특성)

  • A study has been done on the three dimensional turbulent flow characteristic near the porous wall. The porous holes are considered by penetrating the wall in regular arrangement, and porosity is controlled by diameter of holes. Flow characteristics near the three dimensional porous wall are compared with field test results and self-generated experimental results. FLUENT is employed for computational analysis on the effect of three dimensional porosity with flow and pressure characteristics. As a result, drag coefficient is defined and compared for three dimensional effect. The drag coefficient is mostly a function of porosity, whereas the effect of Reynolds number is minimal, and its correlation is presented in terms of three dimensional porosity.

한국형 Reach File을 이용한 경안천유역의 수질모의

  • 본 연구에서는 국립환경과학원에서 체계화된 유역 및 하천환경 DB 구축을 통해 국내 모든 하천에 대한 수리 수문학적 기초자료를 표준화기 위해 만들고 있는 한국형 Reach File을 통하여 경안천 유역에 대해 QUAL2E 모형을 이용하여 수질모의 하고자 한다. 수질 모델링의 적용 사례를 살펴본 바에 따르면 하천을 모델링하기 위해서는 현장 특성 자료의 중요성, 특히 하천수리특성에 관련된 기초 자료의 가용성 여부가 모형의 성패에 매우 중요한 역할을 함을 알 수 있다. 유량, 유속 및 폭과 깊이로 대변되는 하천 지형은 물질 이송에 대한 주요 외력 함수이며, 다른 모든 예측치 들은 이들에 의존적일 수밖에 없다. 따라서 이들의 정확한 표현은 올바른 수질 예측에 있어서 필수적이다. 국립환경과학원에서 구축하는 한국형 Reach File에는 도형 및 속성자료를 설계하였을 뿐만 아니라, 각 수계별 주요하천에 대한 Reach별로 하상단면정보 및 수리계수를 DB화하여 관리하고 있기 때문에 대상 하천의 유량, 유속 및 수심자료를 일괄적으로 제공을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국형 Reach File을 통하여 경안천유역의 수질을 모의하였다. Reach File에는 경안천 유역의 Reach 별로 수리학적 특성인 하천연장, 하상경사, 조도계수, 수리계수등 QUAL2E 모델의 입력자료등을 제공해 줌으로써 수질모의 과정의 정량화 및 간편화를 가능하게 하였다. 또한 효율성 증대에 기여하는 바가 클 것으로 예상되며 2013년 6월부터 시행되는 한강수계 수질오염총량관리 의무제 시행과 관련하여 보다 과학적이고 정확한 모델링 결과 도출이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Evaluation of Genetic Ability for Meat Quality in Hanwoo Cow (육질개량을 위한 한우번식우의 유전능력평가)

  • This study was carried out to estimate genetic parameters and breeding values of Hanwoo cows for carcass traits. Carcass records were collected from Korean steers raised at the private farms located in rural area of Gangwon-do and slaughtered from December 2004 to June 2008 at the three slaughter houses near fattening farm. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows; The means and standard deviations of the carcass traits were $5.57{\pm}2.01$ for marbling score (MS), $10.87{\pm}4.06mm$ for backfat thickness (BFT), $87.87{\pm}9.07cm^2$ for eye muscle area (EMA), $426.75{\pm}49.27kg$ for carcass weight (CW), and $65.80{\pm}3.80$ for yield index (YI). Heritability estimates using single trait analyses were 0.36 for MS, 0.35 for BFT, 0.24 for EMA, 0.29 for CW, and 0.40 for YI, respectively. Genetic correlation coefficients of MS with BFT, EMA, CW, and YI were -0.21, 0.30, -0.21 and 0.30, and those of BFT with EMA, CW and YI were -0.12, 0.57 and -0.97, and those of EMA with CW and YI were 0.32 and 0.27, respectively. And genetic correlation of CW with YI was -0.62. Single trait selection for MS might lead to reducing BFT, but might be an obstacle to increase CW due to negative genetic correlations of MS with BFT and CW.

Influence of the joint stiffness on the segment design (이음부 강성계수가 세그먼트 설계에 미치는 영향)

  • The lining of shield TBM tunnel is composed of segments, therefore segment joints are induced by connecting each segment. Segment joint is considered as joint stiffness in the design of TBM tunnel. Depending on the choice among the different stiffness equations, the joint stiffness values determined can be varied largely. Therefore, the influence of joint stiffness value on the design of segment lining should be verified. In this study, the joint stiffness values were determined firstly by using various equations and total change boundary was justified. Within the change boundary determined, the member forces were calculated by changing the joint stiffness through the numerical analysis and consequently the stability of segment lining was investigated by applying nominal strength. The results showed that the segment joint stiffness did not affect the design of segment lining largely.
