  • 1. 서론 : 계면중합은 제조에 따른 박막의 성능 조절이 가능한 이유로 해서 역삼투용 복합막의 주요 제조 방법으로 제시되어 왔다. 계면중합을 응용하여 제조된 복합막의 성능은 반응 단량체의 종류, 용재의 종류, 단량체의 농도, 반응시간, 열처리 유무 및 온도와 시간 등에 의해 변한다. 한편 위의 변수에 절대적인 영향을 받고 아울러 단량체간의 몰 비가 성립하지 않음으로 해서 최적의 막 성능으로 제시되는 조건을 만족하기 위하여 주로 시행착오에 의한 방법을 동원하여 여러 변수에 다른 제조 막의 성능 고찰을 실시하여 왔다.   • Slate-plastic composite was prepared by impregnating methyl methacrylate monomer into the slate and subsequent curing the monomer either by gamma radiation or by thermal-catalytic method. Experiments were carried out to determine the polymerization rate and to investigate the properties of the composite. Significant improvements in flexural strength, water absorbability and acid resistance were observed in the products. Differences in properties between the composites obtained via two different methods were discussed as well as the cause of such results.

  • 이광자흡수는 Χ$^{(3)}$ 의 허수부로 표현되는 3차 비선형 흡수 효과로, 이광자 흡수확률은 입사빛 세기의 제곱에 비례한다. 특수한 단량체 분자들은 이광자흡수를 통해 빛을 흡수하여 중합과정의 에너지원으로 사용한다. 이 때 에너지의 threshold가 있으므로 초점 부근에서만 반응이 일어나게 되어, 이광자흡수를 통한 광중합과정은 회절효율 한계를 벗어난 미세구조 제작에 응용된다. 또 긴 파장의 빛을 이용하므로 입사 빛이 시료에 깊이 침투하여 3차원 구조제작, 3차원 data 저장 등의 분야에서 높은 응용성을 지닌다.   • NCO terminated polyurethane prepolymers were synthesized from isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), polycarbonate diol(PCD) and dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA). Subsequently, acrylic terminated polyurethanes were prepared by capping the NCO groups of polyurethane prepolymers with different types of acrylate monomers, such as 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA) and pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA). The average particle sizes of the acrylic terminated polyurethane solutions were increased by capping acrylate monomers. Also, the prepared coating films showed better abrasion resistance and pencil hardness than those of pure waterborne polyurethanes. The coating film with PETA exhibited the best abrasion resistance and pencil hardness of coating films prepared with three acrylate monomers.

  • The monomer compositions in a series of propylene heterophasic copolymer, propylene random copolymer, propylene random terpolymer and ethylene-propylene-ENB terpolymer have been determined from $^{13}C-NMR$ spectra. The simplified and highly resolved $^{13}C-NMR$ spectra made it possible to assign unambiguousely and calculate the monomer composition. A complete sets of NMR chemical shift assignments and the way to measure the quantity of monomer are newly given in diverse polymers. Furthermore complete dyad, triad, tetrad and pentad distributions have been able to be determined. These NMR quantitative analytical results for monomer compostition have consistent with those from Infrared spectral data.

  • This study presents a method for the quantitative analysis of residual vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in PVC products. In elution solvent, the extraction efficiency was similar by ethanol, THF, and acetone, but using n-hexane, it indicated relatively low extraction efficiency. Measuring VCM in the pulverized PVC samples, it showed reasonable results in both the direct injection method and headspace method with GC/MS. Regarding analysis of VCM in the intermediate sponge samples, five laboratories showed good results, and from the results, it was considered that VCM quantitative method in this study was reliable.

  • Monodisperse polymer particles were prepared via one-step seeded polymerization using PMMA seed particles and HDDA (or EGDMA) as crosslinking monomer. For the study, the effects of 1) the ratio of the absorbed monomer or monomer mixture to the seed polymer particles (swelling ratio), 2) the ratio of EGDMA in absorbed monomer mixture, 3) the dosage of initiator, and 4) electro less Ni plating on the variation of mechanical properties of monodisperse polymer particles, such as recovery rate, K-values, breaking strength and breaking displacement, were investigated by using MCT (micro compression test). It was observed that monomer swelling ratio influenced only breaking strength, but EGDMA ratio in monomer mixture, dosage of initiator and electroless Ni plating affected both K-values and breaking strength.

  • Radical copolymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAM) with methyl methacrylate (MMA) was carried out in 1,4-dioxane using 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). To investigate the reactivity ratios of NIPAAM and MMA at different reaction temperatures, the copolymerization was allowed to proceed to low conversion (less than 10 wt%), and the reaction temperatures were 50, 60, and 7$0^{\circ}C$. The monomer reactivity ratios of NIPAAM and MMA were estimated by the graphical methods according to the Finemann-Ross equation. The ${\gamma}$$_1$ and ${\gamma}$$_2$ values for NIPAAM-MMA were 0.259 and 2.782 at 5$0^{\circ}C$, 0.271 and 2.819 at 6$0^{\circ}C$, and 0.286 and 2.915 at 7$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. As the reaction temperature increased, the ${\gamma}$$_1$ and ${\gamma}$$_2$ values increased. The activation energy difference was estimated by comparing the reactivity ratios at different reaction temperatures.

  • The structure of pregel state in thermoreversible poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) /propylene carbonate(PC) system was investigated by laser light scattering. It was found that the PVDF chain did not exist as a separate chain even in a very dilute concentration(i.e. 100 times more dilute than the gel formation concentration) but as a large spherical aggregate with the radius of gyration $R_G$, of 232 nm and the effective hydrodynamic radius $R_H$= of 407 nm at $40^{\circ}C$. Based upon experimental results such as $R_H/R_G$=ratio of 1.75 and the pattern of scattering intensity with a minimum, a core-shell type sphere model was suggested as a structure of the aggregate. According to this model, the radius of core part was estimated as 215 nm, the shell thickness as 192 nm, and the ratio of monomer density of the shell part to that of the core part as about 0.075.
