A Multi-Axis Contour Error Controller for High-Speed/High-Precision Machining of Free form Curves (고속 고정밀의 자유곡선 가공을 위한 다축 윤곽오차 제어)

  • The growing need for higher precision and productivity in manufacturing industry has lead to an increased interest in computer numerical control (CNC) systems. It is well known fact that the cross-coupling controller (CCC) is an effective method for contouring applications. In this paper, a multi-axis contour error controller (CEC) based on a contour error vector using parametric curve interpolator is introduced. The contour error vector is a vector from the actual tool position to the nearest point on the desired path. The contour error vector is the closest error model to the contour error. The simulation results show that the CEC is more accurate than the conventional CCC for a biaxial motion system. In addition, the experimental results on 3-axis motion system show that the CEC is simply applied to 3-axis motions and contouring accuracy is significantly improved.

기술현황분석 - 가스 바이패스(Gas Bypass) 사이클을 적용한 오일쿨러(Oil cooler) 연구

  • 공작기계의 고속화, 다축화, 복잡화에 따른 열변형 오차가 공작기계에서 발생하는 오차의 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 이러한 열변형 오차를 최소화 하기 위해 공작기계의 발열부에 차가운 오일을 공급하여 냉각함으로써, 열변형을 제거하는 장치가 오일쿨러이다. 오일쿨러는 제어 방법에 따라 On-off, 가스 바이패스, 인버터 방식 등이 사용된다. 초정밀 공작기계에는 주로 가스 바이패스 및 인버터 방식이 사용되는데, 인버터 방식의 경우 고가(高價)인 관계로 주로 옵션 형태로 사용된다. 가스 바이패스 방식 오일쿨러는 인버터 방식에 비해 가격이 저렴하고 구조가 간다하며 정밀한 온도제어를 할 수 있지만 부하가 낮은 경우 구조적인 한계로 인해 온도제어 불안정을 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서는 기존 바이패스 방식 오일쿨러에서 나타나는 문제점을 해결하고 보다 정밀한 온도제어를 위해 2개의 전자밸브를 갖는 듀얼 밸브 방식 오일쿨러 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 듀얼 밸브 오일쿨러 시스템의 성능검증을 위해 정격운전, DIN 8602 규격, ISO/DIS 230-3 운전모드에서 성능을 비교/분석하였다.

  • This paper presents reducing method of profile error on a mechanical tuning for multi-spindle control of NC machine tools. To reduce the profile error in the feed drive system, it is useful to adopt same transfer function of multi spindle machine tools. By selecting the correction vector of servo rigidity and natural vibration on JK map, multi spindle control can be tuned by mechanical parameters with small profile error.

  • 최근, 나노 위치결정 시스템이 우주항공, 광통신, 의학 등 많은 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 이러한 나노위치결정 시스템에 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 안정성이다 열팽창과 가공에 의한 오차를 줄이기 위해 단일재료를 사용하고 대칭구조로 구성해야만 한다. 또한 나노 스케일의 분해능을 가지기 위해서는 스틱 슬립(stick-slip) 마찰이나 백래쉬(backlash) 기구가 없어야만 가능하다. 이러한 조건들을 만족하기 위해서 선행 연구자들은 유연힌지(flexure hinge)를 사용한 컴플라이언스 기구(compliance mechanism)를 제안하였고 이미 마이크로/나노 위치결정 시스템에 대한 연구와 개발이 이루어졌다.(중략)

  • This paper presents a velocity-synchronizing control for the multiple axes of an injection unit; based on MBS, a virtual design model has been developed for the multiple-axes servomechanism. Prior to the design of the controller, a linear plant model was derived via open-loop response simulations. To synchronize the motions of the multiple axes, a cross-type synchronizing controller was designed and combined with the PID control to accommodate any parameter mismatches among the multiple axes. From the tracking control simulations, a significant reduction of both velocity-tracking and position-tracking errors was achieved through the use of the proposed control scheme.

  • Alignment systems with multi-axis motions are applied to determine vertical arrangement of multilayer assembly such as LCD, PDP, and MLCC. This study reports the development of XY${\theta}$ alignment stage which is designed as thin-type structure and parallel actuations. The thin-type parallel XY${\theta}$ alignment stage is maintained below $1{\mu}m$ in repeatability error. The squareness and straightness also allow precise motion for the alignment by the developed stage. The measured error is ${\pm}6.25{\mu}m$ in the alignment experiment by the vision system on the parallel XY${\theta}$ alignment stage.

  • Contouring accuracy of CNC machine tools is very important for high-speed and high-precision machining. In particular, large contour error may occur during corner tracking. In order to reduce the corner contouring error, acceleration and deceleration control or tool-path planning methods have been suggested. However, they do not directly control the corner contouring error. In the meantime, network servo systems are widely used because of their easiness of building and cost effectiveness. Communication latency between the master controller and servo drives, however, may deteriorate contouring accuracy especially during corner tracking. This paper proposes a control strategy that can accurately calculate and directly control the corner contouring error. A prediction control is combined with the above control to cope with communication latency. The proposed control method is evaluated through computer simulation and experiments. The results show its validity and usefulness.

  • In machining free-form curves with a machine tool equipped with parallel device, improving contouring accuracy is very important. In this paper, we present contouring control algorithm far parallel machine tool. The relation between the error in Joint space and the error in catesian space is evaluated, and we estimate contouring error vector which efficiently determines the variable gains for the cross coupled control. To show the validity of the algorithm, the contouring control is simulated for free form contour trajectory in cubic parallel machine tool model.

  • An asymmetrical cross-coupled compensator to improve the contouring performance is proposed. This is a refinement of the structure suggested by Koren. The position loop is closed with a proportional controller as in the uncoupled system. An additional input term proportional to the component of the contour error along the corresponding axis is included. The controller gains are chosen to give an appropriate frequency response and an optimum range for the damping ratio. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is studied by means of digital simulations of the dynamics of the drives and the controller for 4 types of command trajectories: straight line contour, cornering contour, circular contour, elliptic contour. Substantial improvement in contouring performance is obtained for a range of contouring conditions.
