  • The purpose of this study was to examine, among quality improvement (QI) department employees, the effects of perception of the healthcare accreditation on job stress and to identify factors affecting turnover intention. Research data was collected between 1 June and 15 June 2016. The sample included QI department employees who had participated in a healthcare accreditation survey. The collected data were analyzed to obtain frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation results, which were assessed by using Student's t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The scores for QI employees' perceptions of the healthcare accreditation, job stress, and turnover intention were 3.35, 3.66, and 3.32 of the perception by general characteristics. There were significant differences between scores according to gender, age, QI department section, position, and job satisfaction. In addition, job stress and turnover intention scores showed significant differences according to position, age, QI department section, and job satisfaction. A positive correlation was observed between healthcare perception and job stress, while turnover intention was negatively correlated with healthcare perception. The results indicate that the perception of healthcare accreditation positively affects job stress; in contrast, it decreases the number of people intending to change departments. Among the sample of lower level workers, the younger age workers who were employed for more than 10 years expressed lower satisfaction with their job, which indicates that they are affected by their notion of healthcare accreditation more than by other factors. Thus, in order to lessen work stress and employees' thoughts of leaving the department, the QI department should be encouraged to lessen job stress and provide various supports to the employees.

  • A new optical security system for the protection of personal identification information is proposed. Personal identification information consisting of a pure face image and an identification number is used for verification and authentication. Image encryption is performed by a fully phase image encryption technique with two random phase masks located in the input and the Fourier plane of 4-f correlator. The personal information, however, can be leaked out in the decryption process. To cope with this possibility, the encrypted image itself is used in the identification process. An encrypted personal identification number is discriminated and recognized by using the proposed MMACE_p (multiplexed MACE_p) filter, and then authenticity of the personal information is verified by correlation of the face image using the optical wavelet matched filter (OWMF). MMACE_p filter is a synthetic filter with four MACE_p (minimum average correlation energy_phase encrypted) filters multiplexed in one filter plane to recognize 10 different encrypted-numbers at a time. OWMF can improve discrimination capability and SNR (signal to noise ratio). Computer simulations confirmed that the proposed security technique can be applied to the protection of personal identification information.

  • The Fly-By-Wire system was first applied to the fighter and its inherent advantages lead to the advent of the Fly-By-Wire civil aircraft. Recently even the small jet aircraft shows the trend of adopting the Fly-By-Wire system. In the future, most of the aircraft are expected to be the Fly-By-Wire type. In this paper, the structure and the characteristics of the Fly-By-Wire system applied to the civil aircraft was described. The development trend of the redundant method of the flight control system, data communication system, control surface actuation system and the control laws implemented by the Fly-By-Wire system of the civil aircraft are discussed.

  • Recently, according to the number of internet in widely use and the development of the related application program, the distribution and use of multimedia content(text, images, video, audio etc.) is very easy. Digital signal may be easily duplicated and the duplicated data can have same quality of original data so that it is difficult to warrant original owner. For the solution of this problem, the protection method of copyright which is encipher and watermarking. Digital watermarking is used to protect IP(Intellectual Property) and authenticate the owner of multimedia content. In this paper, the proposed watermarking algerian embeds watermark into multiple lower bitplanes of digital image. In the proposed algorithm, original and watermark images are decomposed to bitplanes each other and the watermarking operation is executed in the corresponded bitplane. The position of watermark image embedded in each bitplane is used to the watermarking key and executed in multiple lower bitplane which has no an influence on human visual recognition. Thus this algorithm can present watermark image to the multiple inherent patterns and needs small watermarking quantity. In the experiment, the author confirmed that it has high robustness against attacks of JPEG, MEDIAN and PSNR but it is weakness against attacks of NOISE, RNDDIST, ROT, SCALE, SS on spatial domain when a criterion PSNR of watermarked image is 40dB.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate understanding of patient safety culture and the factors that influence this understanding among general hospital employees. To collect data, this study surveyed 343 employees of five general hospitals that were located in G metropolitan city and were authorized through medical institute certification. The data were collected from March 12 to April 21, 2017. For the data collected, a t-test, variance analysis, post-hoc analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. The analyses revealed that the scores of understanding of patient safety culture were $3.27{\pm}.27$ with a perfect score of 5. Analysis of differences in understanding of patient safety culture revealed significant differences according to hospital service career, present department service career, professional career, and work units. Factors that influence understanding of patient safety culture were more than 11 year- hospital service career, 6 and 10 service years, and ward employees. Overall, the results of this study suggest that employees should receive education to improve understanding of patient safety culture and measures to change the understanding should be developed.

  • As the security requirements of mobile phones have been increasing, there have been extensive researches using one biometric feature (e.g., an iris, a fingerprint, or a face image) for authentication. Due to the limitation of uni-modal biometrics, we propose a method that combines face and iris images in order to improve accuracy in mobile environments. This paper presents four advantages and contributions over previous research. First, in order to capture both face and iris image at fast speed and simultaneously, we use a built-in conventional mega pixel camera in mobile phone, which is revised to capture the NIR (Near-InfraRed) face and iris image. Second, in order to increase the authentication accuracy of face and iris, we propose a score level fusion method based on SVM (Support Vector Machine). Third, to reduce the classification complexities of SVM and intra-variation of face and iris data, we normalize the input face and iris data, respectively. For face, a NIR illuminator and NIR passing filter on camera are used to reduce the illumination variance caused by environmental visible lighting and the consequent saturated region in face by the NIR illuminator is normalized by low processing logarithmic algorithm considering mobile phone. For iris, image transform into polar coordinate and iris code shifting are used for obtaining robust identification accuracy irrespective of image capturing condition. Fourth, to increase the processing speed on mobile phone, we use integer based face and iris authentication algorithms. Experimental results were tested with face and iris images by mega-pixel camera of mobile phone. It showed that the authentication accuracy using SVM was better than those of uni-modal (face or iris), SUM, MAX, NIN and weighted SUM rules.
