A Multi-hash Chain Scheme for Ensure Data Integirty Nodes in Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 데이터 무결성을 보장하기 위한 다중 해쉬 체인 기법)

  • Recently, In the wireless sensor network, a study which guarantees integrity of not only data gathered from sensor node but also energy consumption of it is now going on. However, the existing study cannot guarantee data integrity and overhead of cluster head which merges data from sensor node. This paper proposes multi-path hash chain technique which guarantees integrity of merged data and reduces overhead of cluster head when cluster head merges with data transmitted from sensor node. The proposed technique forms multi-hash chain dividing main-path and assistance-path to guarantee data integrity of cluster head, when merges data. The assistance-path, which is used when main-path is not, supports integrity of sensor node while minimizing overhead of cluster head when sensor node is authenticate.

  • In general, it is known a single biometric-based personal authentication has limitation to improve recognition rate due to weakness of individual recognition scheme. The recognition rate of face recognition system can be reduced by environmental factor such as illumination, while speaker verification system does not perform well with added surrounding noise. In this paper, a multi-modal biometric system composed of face and voice recognition system is proposed in order to improve the performance of the individual authentication system. The proposed empirical weight sum rule based on the reliability of the individual authentication system is applied to improve the performance of multi-modal biometrics. Since the proposed system is implemented using JAVA applet with security function, it can be utilized in the field of user authentication on the generic Web.

Authenticated Identity-based Key Agreement Protocols in a Multiple Independent PKG Environment (다중 독립 PKG환경에서 인증된 신원기반 키 동의 프로토콜)

  • To date, most identity-based key agreement protocols are based on a single PKG (Private Key Generator) environment. In 2002, Chen and Kudla proposed an identity-based key agreement protocol for a multiple PKG environment, where each PKG shares identical system parameters but possesses distinct master key. However, it is more realistic to assume that each PKG uses different system parameters including the PKG's master key. In this paper, we propose a new two party key agreement protocol between users belonging to different PKGs that do not share system parameters. We also extend this protocol to two types of tripartite key agreement protocols. We show that our two party protocol requires minimal amount of pairing computation for a multiple PKG environment and our tripartite protocol is more efficient than existing protocols. We also show that the proposed key agreement protocols satisfy every security requirements of key agreement protocol.

Design and Fabrication of a Step Height Certified Reference Material for Multi-probe Inspection Instruments (다중 프로브 검사 계측 장비를 위한 단차 표준 인증 물질의 설계 및 제작)

  • Certified reference materials (CRMs) have been used to calibrate surface profilers for reliable measurements. In this paper, we present a newly designed step height CRM which has a step height pattern with two different widths and various special patterns for checking radial magnification, distortion of optical viewing systems, etc. Especially, it could be useful for multi-probe inspection instruments in the manufacturing lines. The fabrication was done by conventional optical lithography and dry etching process with optimized conditions. To verify the step height values, a white-light scanning interferometer was used with objective lenses having magnification of $10{\times}$ and $100{\times}$. CRMs with nominal step heights of $0.5\;{\mu}m$, $1\;{\mu}m$, $3\;{\mu}m$, $5\;{\mu}m$, $7\;{\mu}m$, and $10\;{\mu}m$ were fabricated and the uniformity of these CRMs was evaluated to be less than 3 nm ($1{\sigma}$).

  • Nowaday, Many equipments like TabletPC, Digital kiosk, ATM using touch-panel service instead of keyboard or button, to support intuitively input for user. Furthermore these days touch-panels recognize up to 5 contact points using recent technology. On this study, I Introduce password input/store methodology on multi-touch environment. On past, User must input password 1 character by 1 character, like [1, 2, 3, 4]. but, on multi-touch environment user can input more than one character at the same time, like [(1,3), 2, (3,4), (1,2,3)]. In result, users can use password more intensely. This study is utilized post security technology study on multi-touch environment.

  • Financial information systems play such a pivotal role in the financial institution services that are provided for a large customers on the basis of various information including the personal information. As for the personal information collected during the transactions in the financial information systems, huge efforts and investment have been made to protect previously them from being inappropriately misused or illegally used if they could be released. Unfortunately, the frequent accidents on the leakage of sensitive personal information have occurred recently not only by external service users but even by internal system users. Therefore, the aim of this study is to suggest a model of advanced two-channel authentication for internal users in order to increase the stability of financial information systems with enhanced security.

  • In this paper, we define that pervasive home network, which provides necessary services for user properties and removes distractions to improve the quality of human life. So, user can enjoy home network technology including devices and softwares at any place with no knowledge of networked home, devices, and softwares. In this home network, a mobile agent, called LAFA, can migrate to unfamiliar home network and control the necessary devices. For this environment, we design security management module for authenticating user and home server that access some other home networks, and for protecting text, multimedia data, and mobile agent that are transferred between home networks. The security management module is composed of a key exchange management module and an access control management module, for key exchange management module, we propose a key exchange protocol, which provides multimode of authentication mode and key exchange mode. One of these two modes is selected according to the data type.

  • Smart devices are used in a variety of industries, because applications for them are easy to develop and portable. However, industrial equipment can cause security problems for information and accidents when controlling the actuator of the equipment at a remote location. In this paper, we studied methods of solving these problems and the advantages of applying smart control systems to industrial equipment. We propose a manual manipulation method using queries and a smart control access procedure for controlling equipment using a smart device. In addition, we propose a data transmission method employing multiple encryption protocols and a user authentication method using unique information from the smart device and Q & A as the communication data protection and user authentication methods, respectively. In order to evaluate its performance, an operation test of the smart control system and user authentication comparison experiment were performed. In order to understand the advantages of applying the smart control system to the equipment, we conducted a comparative experiment with a teach pendant and evaluated its reaction time in case of error.

  • Multimodal biometrics is a method for personal authentication and verification using more than two types of biometrics data. RBF based score-level fusion uses pattern recognition algorithm for multimodal biometrics, seeking the optimal decision boundary to classify score feature vectors each of which consists of matching scores obtained from several unimodal biometrics system for each sample. In this case, all matching scores are assumed to have the same reliability. However, in recent research it is reported that the quality of input sample affects the result of biometrics. Currently the matching scores having low reliability caused by low quality of samples are not currently considered for pattern recognition modelling in multimodal biometrics. To solve this problem, in this paper, we proposed the RBF based score-level fusion approach which employs quality information of input biometrics data to adjust decision boundary. As a result the proposed method with Qualify information showed better recognition performance than both the unimodal biometrics and the usual RBF based score-level fusion without using quality information.
