Performance Evaluation of Anti-collision Algorithms in the Low-cost RFID System (저비용 RFID 시스템에서의 충돌방지 알고리즘에 대한 성능평가)

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a technology that automatically identifies objects attached with electronic tags by using radio wave. For the implementation of an RFID system, an anti-collision algorithm is required to identify several tags within the RFID reader's range. Few researches report the performance trade-off among anti-collision algorithms in terms of the communications traffic between the reader and tags, the identification speed, and so on. In this paper, we analyze both tree based memoryless algorithms and slot aloha based algorithms that comprise of almost every class of existing anti-collision algorithms. To compare the performance, we evaluated each class of anti-collision algorithms with respect to low-cost RFID system with 96-bit EPC(Electronic Product Code). The results show that the collision tracking tree algorithm outperforms current tree based and aloha based algorithms by at least 2 times to 50 times.

A Design of the Ontology-based Situation Recognition System to Detect Risk Factors in a Semiconductor Manufacturing Process (반도체 공정의 위험요소 판단을 위한 온톨로지 기반의 상황인지 시스템 설계)

  • The current state monitoring system at a semiconductor manufacturing process is based on the manually collected sensor data, which involves limitations when it comes to complex malfunction detection and real time monitoring. This study aims to design a situation recognition algorithm to form a network over time by creating a domain ontology and to suggest a system to provide users with services by generating events upon finding risk factors in the semiconductor process. To this end, a multiple sensor node for situational inference was designed and tested. As a result of the experiment, events to which the rule of time inference was applied occurred for the contents formed over time with regard to a quantity of collected data while the events that occurred with regard to malfunction and external time factors provided log data only.

  • 최근 기후변화는 우리 삶에 다양한 영향을 미치고 있으며, 이에 따른 수문순환 변화 역시 자명하게 받아들이고 있다. 이에 따라 수자원 취약성 평가 및 대책에 관한 연구는 다양하게 진행되고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 국내의 경우 전체 유역에 대한 수자원 취약성 평가 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 총 12 수계인 한강, 안성천, 금강, 삽교천, 영산강, 섬진강, 탐진강, 만경강, 동진강, 낙동강, 태화강, 형산강 유역에 대한 수자원 취약성 평가를 실시하였다. 평가 방법으로는 장기간에 걸친 다양한 토양의 특징, 토지이용, 관리상태의 변화에 따른 크고 복잡한 유역의 유출량을 추정하기 위해 개발된 SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool) 모형을 이용하여 수문 모형을 구축하였고, 유출 관련 매개변수 최적화 작업은 SWAT-CUP 모형을 이용하였다. 최적화된 매개변수의 적용을 통해 각 유역별 유출량을 산정하였다. 그 결과 2009년과 2011년은 한강, 낙동강, 금강, 영산강순 이였으며, 2010년은 낙동강, 한강, 금강, 영산강순 이였다. 면적별 유출량인 비유량(specific discharge)을 산정한 결과, 2009년에는 영산강, 낙동강, 금강, 한강순 이며, 2010년에는 영산강, 금강, 낙동강, 한강순 이였으며, 2011년에는 금강, 한강, 영산강, 낙동강 순을 보였다. 또한, 인구당 유출량 산정 결과 2009년에는 영산강, 금강, 낙동강, 한강순 이며, 2010년에는 영산강, 금강, 낙동강, 한강순 이며, 2011년에는 영산강, 금강, 낙동강, 한강순 이었다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 총 12 수계에 대한 수자원 취약성을 산정해보았다. 대응변수는 이수의 수요 및 공급적인 측면에서 구분하였으며, 사회/경제, 물 이용, 환경, SWAT으로 구성하였습니다. 수자원 취약성 평가를 위해 다기준의사결정기법(MCDM, Multi-Criteria Decision Making) 중 하나인 TOPSIS(Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution)기법을 사용하였다. 산정 결과 삽교천, 동진강, 형산강, 안성천, 섬진강, 만경강, 낙동강, 영산강, 태화강, 금강, 한강, 탐진강 순 이였다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 다중 공간에 구축한 고해상도 모형을 통해 국내 수문상황 진단 및 고해상도 미래 수문 시나리오 생산을 통한 수자원 관리에도 활용될 전망이며, 기후변화 취약성 평가를 위한 지표 개발에 이용될 예정이다.

Hybrid Precoder Design for Massive MIMO Systems with OSA structure (부분 중첩 안테나 배열 구조를 갖는 대용량 MIMO 시스템을 위한 하이브리드 프리코더 설계)

  • Since conventional massive antenna systems require too many RF chains, they have disadvantages of high implementation cost and complexity. To overcome this problem, hybrid precoding schemes have been proposed. But, they are still of high implementation cost and complexity because RF chains are connected to all antenna elements. In this paper, we consider massive MIMO systems with overlapped sub-array (OSA) structure and then, propose a hybrid precoding scheme. In the overlapped subarray structure, RF analog precoding matrix has a sparse structure where many elements of RF analog precoding matrix are zeros. Using this sparse property, we propose a GTP-based precoder design method for RF and baseband digital precoding. Through simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has more than 85% of the spectral efficiency of the fully-connected structure while having 20~30% of complexity of it.

  • The AtoN are installed and operated on the sea in order to help the safe navigation of ships. With the development of maritime ICT, to monitor and control the condition of AtoN from land using multiplex communication network such as AtoN AIS, CDMA, and LTE. Currently, The information of AtoN is difficult to integrated manage because AtoN management systems has been independently developed and operatie according to the operating conditions of the Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries. In addition, in preparation for the introduction for e-navigation and MASS, systematic and unified information of AtoN is required. In this paper, we study to design and develop standard software for AtoN management system based on the international standard for navigation information(S-201). Through this study, it will be possible to provide continuous AtoN information and effective AtoN management.

  • Confidence interval estimators for proportions using normal approximation have been commonly used for coverage analysis of simulation output even though alternative approximate estimators of confidence intervals for proportions were proposed. This is -because the normal approximation was easier to use in practice than the other approximate estimators. Computing technology has no problem with dealing these alternative estimators. Recently, one of the approximation methods for coverage analysis which is based on arcsin transformation has been used for estimating proportion and for controlling the required precision in [12]. In this paper, we compare three approximate interval estimators, based on a normal distribution approximation, an arcsin transformation and an F-distribution approximation, of a single proportion. Three estimators were applied to sequential coverage analysis of steady-state means, in simulations of the M/M/1/$\infty$ and W/D/l/$\infty$ queueing systems on a single processor and multiple processors.

Development of a Bi-objective Cycle-free Signal Timing Model Using Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 이중목적 주기변동 신호시간 결정 모형 개발)

  • This paper documents the development of a bi-objective(minimizing delays and Queue lengths) cycle-free signal timing length model using Genetic Algorithm. The model was embodied using MATLAB. the language of technical computing. A special feature of this model is its ability to concurrently manage delays and queue lengths of turning movement concurrently. The model produces a cycle-free signal timing(cycles and green times) for each intersection on the cycle basis. Appropriate offsets could be also accomplished by applying cycle-free based signal timings for respective intersections. The model was applied to an example network which consists of four intersections. The result shows that the model produces superior signal timings to the existing signal timing model in terms of managing delays and queue lengths of turning movements.

Inspection for Inner Wall Surface of Communication Conduits by Laser Projection Image Analysis (레이저 투영 영상 분석에 의한 통신 관로 내벽 검사 기법)

  • This paper proposes a novel method for grading of underground communication conduits by laser projection image analysis. The equipment thrust into conduit consists of a laser diode, a light emitting diode and a camera, the laser diode is utilized for generating projection image onto pipe wall, the light emitting diode for lighting environment and the image of conduit is acquired by the camera. In order to segment profile region, we used a novel color difference model and multiple thresholds method. The shape of profile ring is represented as a minimum diameter and the Fourier descriptor, and then the pipe status is graded by the rule-based method. Both local and global features of the segmented ring shaped, the minimum diameter and the Fourier descriptor, are utilized, therefore injured and distorted pipes can be correctly graded. From the experimental results, the classification is measured with accuracy such that false alarms are less than 2% under the various conditions.

  • In this paper, CDMA Reservation ALOHA scheme which can reduce multiple access interference and packet collision is proposed to support multi-traffic such as voice and random data with and without priority. In this scheme, the time slot is divided into two stage, access and transmission stage. Only packets with spreading codes assigned from base station in access stage can transmit their packets in transmission stage, so MAI can be reduced. To reduce packer collision in access stage, the code reservation and access permission probability are used. Code reservation is allowed for voice traffic and continuous traffic with priority using piggyback and access permission probability based on the estimation of the number of contending users in the steady-state is adaptively applied to each traffic terminal. Also, we analyzed and simulated the numerical performances required for each traffic using Markov chain modeling in a single cell environment.

A Low Complex and Low Power Baseband IR-UWB Transceiver for Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크 응용을 위한 초광대역 임펄스 통신용 저복잡도, 저전력 베이스밴드 트랜시버)

  • In this paper, we introduce an low complexity and low power IR-UWB (impulse radio ultra wideband) baseband transceiver for wireless sensor network. The proposed baseband, implemented by TSMC 0.18um CMOS technology, has a simple structure in which a simplified packet structure and a digital synchronizer with 1-bit sampler to detect incoming pulses are used. Besides, clock gating method using gated clock cell as well as customized clock domain division can reduce the total power consumption drastically. As a result, the proposed baseband has about 23K digital gates with an internal memory of 2Kbytes and achieves about 1.8mW@1Mbps power consumption.
