Model Development of Convergence Curriculum by Specialization Area Linkage between Local Universities (지역대학 간 특화영역을 연계한 대학연합-융합전공 모형개발)

  • The university bachelor's system is based on autonomy, but due to the rigid academic structure, it is not appropriate to respond to changes in social demand. Recently, universities are pursuing diversification of their bachelor's system. With the introduction of various majors (linkage major, convergence major, autonomic major, and self-design major), efforts are being made to nurture convergence talent based on mutual linkages between major and departments. This study introduces the design and operation process of 'Global Creative Convergence Major' which the four universities of Chungcheong region promoted as a union. In particular, it derives the key elements of each step and presents the operating model and implications based on the main features. Convergence major operation model constitutes educational system (talent award, educational goal, competency factor, curriculum) through linkage between specialization areas of universities. The competency elements contain creative competence, convergence competency, problem solving competency, and global competency.

A Call for Community-Based Suicide Prevention in South Korea (한국의 자살예방을 위한 지역공동체 접근)

  • In this paper, we reviewed the community-based approaches to suicide prevention and national strategies for the decrement of suicide rate, and made some suggestions to decrease the suicide rate in South Korea. Until now, efforts to understand and prevent suicide have been pursued singularly by specialized interest groups such as psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health practitioners, and private organizations with little interaction between them, resulting in narrow approaches toward suicide that existed in relative isolation to one another and that have been largely ineffective. To decline the suicide rate in South Korea, the people lived in Korea community ought to have enough knowledge related to suicide and have to cooperate with other people. Through these efforts, Korea community would have established social safety networks to improve the community 's mental health. The most important factor in suicide prevention and declining the suicide rate is reducing the stigma and increase the self-help seeking behaviors associated with suicide and mental health. Therefore, suicide is not an individual problem solved by suicidal patient, but a community's problem solved by community in recognizing, managing and preventing suicide.

A Study on the Migration of the Berbers in France and their Current Status (프랑스 내 '베르베르인'의 이민 과정과 그 위상에 관한 연구)

  • The issue of migrants has always been a social problem in France. Particularly, migration issues from the Maghreb region to multicultural France are recognized as topics of confrontation and conflict. One of the many reasons would be that the Maghreb migrant issue is interpreted with a hostile or conflicting 'Arab-Islam' meaning in the West. Therefore, the naming of natives from this region as 'Arab-Maghrebis' has become a common phenomenon. However, deeper understanding of the Maghreb region will explain that such naming could produce a number of problems. This is because the native Maghrebis, not only in the Maghreb region but also in France, are Berbers. Among the various Berbers, the Kabyles are in many ways different from the Arabs in their language, culture, and way of thinking. Apart from the difference in their lifestyle, there is a deep anti-Arab sentiment within them that represents their resistance against the hundreds-of-years Arab domination. This feature has also been used as France's tool of colonial division policy during the colonization period. The purpose of this study is to discuss the settlement process of the Kabyles in France by paying attention to their features. The Kabyles were the first to migrate to France among the natives of the Maghreb region. This study focuses on the process of their migration and search for identity, as well as how they continued to form community and the Berber's cultural movement. Through these series of processes, it is possible to point out the fictitious claim in France and in Korea that Maghrebis are Arab-Muslims. Lastly, the current use of Berber language in France and Algeria is not a coincidental phenomenon, rather it has a connection with the prolonged cultural movement and the settlement process of the migrants in France.

A Study on Wavelet Based Watermarking using Human visual system property (HVS 특성을 이용한 Wavelet 변환 공간에서의 효과적인 워터마킹 기법에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, aegis of authentication and creator's copyright has become a matter of great concern by the diffusion of multimedia technique and the growth of the internet and the easily duplicated property of digital data. Consequently, many active researches have been made to protect copyright and to assure integrity by inserting watermark into the digital data. In this paper, watermark is repeated through the entire image and adapted to the content of the image. It is achieved by an underlying process of transforming the digital image to the frequency domain by wavelet transform, which has three (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) directions and Multi-resolution features, and then choosing frequency area inferior to the human perceptibility, and significant for invisible and robust watermark. Watermark is inserted by utilizing Human Visual System (HVS) feature in the wavelet transformed frequency domain. Especially, watermark inserted into the high frequency concentrated textual area makes itself invisible.

Assessment Study on Educational Programs for the Gifted Students in Mathematics (영재학급에서의 수학영재프로그램 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Contemporary belief is that the creative talented can create new knowledge and lead national development, so lots of countries in the world have interest in Gifted Education. As we well know, U.S.A., England, Russia, Germany, Australia, Israel, and Singapore enforce related laws in Gifted Education to offer Gifted Classes, and our government has also created an Improvement Act in January, 2000 and Enforcement Ordinance for Gifted Improvement Act was also announced in April, 2002. Through this initiation Gifted Education can be possible. Enforcement Ordinance was revised in October, 2008. The main purpose of this revision was to expand the opportunity of Gifted Education to students with special education needs. One of these programs is, the opportunity of Gifted Education to be offered to lots of the Gifted by establishing Special Classes at each school. Also, it is important that the quality of Gifted Education should be combined with the expansion of opportunity for the Gifted. Social opinion is that it will be reckless only to expand the opportunity for the Gifted Education, therefore, assessment on the Teaching and Learning Program for the Gifted is indispensible. In this study, 3 middle schools were selected for the Teaching and Learning Programs in mathematics. Each 1st Grade was reviewed and analyzed through comparative tables between Regular and Gifted Education Programs. Also reviewed was the content of what should be taught, and programs were evaluated on assessment standards which were revised and modified from the present teaching and learning programs in mathematics. Below, research issues were set up to assess the formation of content areas and appropriateness for Teaching and Learning Programs for the Gifted in mathematics. A. Is the formation of special class content areas complying with the 7th national curriculum? 1. Which content areas of regular curriculum is applied in this program? 2. Among Enrichment and Selection in Curriculum for the Gifted, which one is applied in this programs? 3. Are the content areas organized and performed properly? B. Are the Programs for the Gifted appropriate? 1. Are the Educational goals of the Programs aligned with that of Gifted Education in mathematics? 2. Does the content of each program reflect characteristics of mathematical Gifted students and express their mathematical talents? 3. Are Teaching and Learning models and methods diverse enough to express their talents? 4. Can the assessment on each program reflect the Learning goals and content, and enhance Gifted students' thinking ability? The conclusions are as follows: First, the best contents to be taught to the mathematical Gifted were found to be the Numeration, Arithmetic, Geometry, Measurement, Probability, Statistics, Letter and Expression. Also, Enrichment area and Selection area within the curriculum for the Gifted were offered in many ways so that their Giftedness could be fully enhanced. Second, the educational goals of Teaching and Learning Programs for the mathematical Gifted students were in accordance with the directions of mathematical education and philosophy. Also, it reflected that their research ability was successful in reaching the educational goals of improving creativity, thinking ability, problem-solving ability, all of which are required in the set curriculum. In order to accomplish the goals, visualization, symbolization, phasing and exploring strategies were used effectively. Many different of lecturing types, cooperative learning, discovery learning were applied to accomplish the Teaching and Learning model goals. For Teaching and Learning activities, various strategies and models were used to express the students' talents. These activities included experiments, exploration, application, estimation, guess, discussion (conjecture and refutation) reconsideration and so on. There were no mention to the students about evaluation and paper exams. While the program activities were being performed, educational goals and assessment methods were reflected, that is, products, performance assessment, and portfolio were mainly used rather than just paper assessment.

대학 창업교육이 진로에 미치는 효과성에 대한 연구

  • 4차산업혁명 시대에 대학교육은 창의적 인재육성을 위한 중요한 역할을 담당하게 되었다. 또한 청년실업율 상승과 일자리 창출을 위한 대책으로 청년창업으로 진로를 개척할 수 있도록 대학에서부터 창업을 보다 활성화 시키지위한 정책과 지원을 확대되기 시작하였다. 대학교육의 교과 비교과 교육커리큘럼 역시 시대적 요구에 맞춰 변화하고 있으며 창의성 역량을 강조하는 창업교육이 확산되고 있다. 대학의 창업교육을 통한 문제해결능력, 의사소통능력 등 창의성역량 함양과 도전정신을 강조하며 기업가정신을 함양하는 추세이다. 이는 작금의 시대가 요구하는 창의적 인재상과 일치하며 정부와 대학에서도 창업교육에 대한 중요성을 인식하였다. 하지만 창업교육에 대한 효과성을 검증함에 있어서 창업의지, 창업성과, 청년창업 등 창업에 관련된 단편적 측면으로 연구가 많이 되고 있다. 즉, 창업교육에 대한 다양한 효과성 측면에 관한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행연구와 차별적으로 창업교육을 통하여 사회에 진출을 앞두고 있는 대학생의 진로준비와 선택에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 실증분석을 통하여 검증하였다. 이를 위해 2016년 8월부터 지역 거점별 5개 대학교의 창업교육을 수강한 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사 실시하여 393개의 표본으로 실증분석에 활용하였다. 분석결과 창업교육을 통한 역량은 진로준비행동에 직접적인 영향은 없었다. 다만 창업교육의 협업적 의사소통능력과, 창의적 문제해결능력은 창업가정신과, 자기효능감을 통해 매개효과로 진로준비행동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 또한 창업교육의 협업적의사소통능력, 창의적문제해결능력이 창업가정신과 자기효능감에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고, 창업가정신과 자기효능감은 진로준비행동에 긍정의 영향을 미치는 실증적 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 시사점은 단순히 대학의 창업교육을 시키는 것이 중요한 것이 아니라 창업교육을 통하여 창업가정신과 자기효능감을 고취 함양시킴으로써 진로준비행동에 긍정의 영향을 미친다는 점과 창업가정신과 자기효능감이 중요한 요인이라는 시사점을 도출하였다. 또한 향후 대학 창업교육의 효과성에 대한 측정과 평가에서 창업과 같은 실무적 성과 접근뿐만 아니라 사회진출을 위한 진로 영역 등과 같이 다각도의 효과와 올바른 방향성에 대한 추가 연구가 필요하다.

  • Diagnostic problem solving is a major application area of knowledge-based systems research. However, most of the current approaches, both heuristic and model-based, are designed to identify single faults, and do not generalize easily to multiple fault diagnosis without exhibiting exponential behavior in the amount of computation required. In this paper, we employ a decomposition approach based on system configuration to generate an efficient algorithm for multiple fault diagnosis. The basic idea of the algorithm is to reduce the inherent combinatorial explosion that occurs in generating multiple faults by partitioning the circuit into groups that correspond to output measurement points. Making an Odorless City: The 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and the Transformation of Urban Odor Regulation (악취 없는 도시 만들기: 서울 올림픽과 도시 악취 규제의 전환)

  • This paper examines how South Korean government regulators and environmental scientists endeavored to improve the environmental quality of Seoul in preparation for the Olympic Games in 1988. When Seoul was nominated as a host city of the Summer Games in 1981, it was suffering from severe environmental pollution. The municipal government of Seoul and the Ministry of Environment initiated a series of pollution survey projects, which were followed by relevant regulatory procedures. One of the outcomes of these projects was the beginning of odor pollution regulation that used the Environmental Official Testing Method. Although the Pollution Prevention Act of 1963 made odor pollution such as unpleasant order, stench, and stink subject to environmental regulation, proper administrative procedures to reduce odor pollution were not in place until the 1980s. In order to reduce odor pollution in urban areas, governmental officers and environmental scientists tried to regulate odor-causing chemicals from factories. In June 1988, however, severe odor pollution was detected not from factories but from unregulated areas in Seoul, such as the waterside parks of the Han river, the downtown, and the marketplaces. The local regulators and scientists were concerned that the odor pollution could make a "wrong" impression on foreign athletes and visitors about the degree of "modernity" of Korea. This paper shows that the 1988 Summer Olympics was a transition point in the early history of odor regulation in South Korea, when the scope of odor regulation could be expanded.

Performance Comparison of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing and Single Carrier Transmission with Frequency Domain Equalizer in High Speed Mobile Environment (고속 이동 환경 하에서의 직교주파수분할다중화 및 주파수 영역 등화기를 사용한 단일반송파 시스템의 성능 평가)

  • We need to establish standard for the ICT based on train control system. In order to solve the ISI problem, this paper evaluate the performance of OFDM and FDE system. We seem that OFDM system is better than FDE system. In order to solve ISI problem, SC System is needed a equalizer. And another method is OFDM System. If system is used SC with a equalizer, It is better than OFDM in terms of PAPR, but this system is not easy to use Multi-Antenna technique, i.e., beam-forming and MIMO-multiplexing. And If system is used high-order modulation, BER performance is worse than OFDM. If we think about in terms of PAPR problem, considerations are considered not significant because the size of relays is not considered in the communication between trains and ground.

  • The six core competencies included in the mathematics curriculum Revised in 2015 are problem solving, reasoning, communication, attitude and practice, creativity and convergence, information processing. In particular, the creativity and convergence competency is very important for students' enhancing much higher mathematical thinking. Based on the creativity and convergence competency, this study selected the five elements of the creativity and convergence competency such as productive thinking element, creative thinking element, the element of solving problems in diverse ways, and mathematical connection element, non-mathematical connection element. And also this study selected the content(chapter) of the graph in the seventh grade mathematics textbook. By the subject of the ten kinds of textbook, this study examined how the five elements of the creativity and convergence competency were shown in each textbook.
