Design of A Microwave Planar Broadband Power Divider (마이크로파대 평면형 광대역 전력 분배기 설계)

  • A novel multi-section power divider configuration is proposed to obtain wide-band frequency performance up to microwave frequency region. Design procedures for the proposed microwave broadband power divider are composed of a planar multi-section three-ports hybrid and a waveguide transformer design procedures. The multi-section power divider is based on design theory of the optimum quarter-wave transformer. Furthermore, in order to obtain the broadband isolation performance between the two adjacent output ports, the odd mode equivalent circuit should be matched by using the lossy element such as resistor. The derived design formula for calculating these odd mode matching elements is based on the singly terminated filter design theory. The waveguide transformer section is designed to suppress the propagation of the higher order modes such as waveguide modes due to employing the metallic electric wall. Thus, each section of the designed waveguide transformer should be operated with evanescent mode over the whole design frequency band of the proposed microwave broadband power divider. This paper presents several simulations and experimental results of multi-section power divider to show validity of the proposed microwave broadband power divider configuration. Simulation and experiment show excellent performance of multi section power divider.

On optimal design of soft-decision multistage detectors for asynchronous DS/CDMA systems (비동기 DS/CDMA 시스템을 위한 연판정 다단 검출기의 최적 설계)

  • We consider the design of soft decision functions for each stage of multistage detection for coherent demodulation in an asynchronous code-division multiple-access(CDMA) system. In particular, the sigmoid function, which is shown to be optimal under the mean square error(MSE) criterion, andmultilevel quantizers that best approximate the sigmoid function are derived. At each stage of multistage detection, the parameters of these decision functions are adjusted depending on estimated input statistics. Computer simulation results demonstrate that multistage detectors employing these soft decision functions perform considerably better than those with hard decision.

  • In general, the choking phenomenon occurs by flow acceleration for a turbine at high pressure ratio condition. In choking condition, total pressure ratio increases without mass flow rate variation. It is hard to predict choking characteristics by using conventional meanline analysis which used mass flow inlet boundary condition. In the present study, the algorithm for predicting choking point is developed to solve the problem. Moreover, performance estimation algorithm after choking is presented by reflecting the flow behaviour of flow expansion at choked nozzle or rotor. The analysis results are compared with 3D CFD analysis and experimental data to validate present method.

  • 마모씨일과 발란스디스크에서의 로마킨효과가 3600rpm에서 운전되는 14단 터빈펌프의 동특성에 미치는 영향을 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 14단 터빈펌프 시제품 해석을 위한 유한요소 모델링 및 해석결과는 실험적 모드해석을 통하여 5% 이내의 오차로 검증되었다. 2. 마모링 및 밸런스 디스크의 로마킨효과를 고려하였을 때 시제품 펌프의 위험속도는 그렇지 않았을 때에 비하여 1차의 경우 약 50% 상승하나 고차의 경우는 그 영향이 미미하였다. 그런데 1차 위험속도가 운전속도와 밀접한 관련이 있으므로 설계시 로마킨효과는 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 3. 마모링 및 밸런스디스크의 설계변경에 의하여 시제품 펌프의 강성을 변화시킬 경우 위험속도가 크게 변화하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 이용하면 펌프의 심각한 구조변경 없이도 씨일의 적절한 설계에 의하여 임펠러 깃등의 고조화성분을 포함한 유해한 진동을 회피하는 동특성 설계가 가능하다. 향후 계속 연구사업으로서 씨일의 동특성 해석코드 개발 및 Wet Test를 통하여 본 연구결과를 검증하고 그 결과를 다단 터빈 펌프의 동특성 설게에 적용하여 고압 다단 터빈 펌프의 독자적 개발에 활용코자 한다.

Understanding Complex Design Features via Design Effect Models (설계효과모형을 통한 설계요소의 유용성 이해)

  • Survey research, data is commonly collected through a sample design with complex design features that allow the relative efficiency on the precision of an estimator to be measured using the concept of the design effect compared to simple random sampling as a reference design. This concept is most useful when the design effect can be expressed as a function of various design features. We propose a design effect formula suitable under a stratified multistage sampling by generalizing Gabler et al. (1999, 2006)'s approaches for multistage sampling. Its use can either guide improvement in the design efficiency when in design stage or enable the evaluation of the adopted design features afterwards.

  • 다단임팩터(cascade impactor)는 대기환경 연구에 있어 입자상물질의 물리ㆍ화학적 분석에 유용하게 사용되고 있는 입자상물질 포집장치이다. 본 연구그룹에서는 분리입경이 각각 10.07, 4.92, 2.49, 1.02, 0.7$\mu\textrm{m}$인 5단 다단임팩터를 이미 개발하여 성능평가를 수행하였으며, 그 연구결과를 발표하였다(Kwon et al., 2003). 또한 개발된 임팩터를 2002년 4월 8일 부터 29일까지 제주도 고산지역에서 실시된 ACE-Asia 측정 기간동안 설치 운영하여 대기 중 에어로졸 샘플링을 하였다(Park et al., 2003). 본 연구에서는 다단임팩터 사용자의 불편을 최소화하고, 장치의 상용화가 가능하도록 최적 설계에 주안점을 두었다.   • The most effective way of the rock removing works in the downtown area is to removing rocks by splitting the rock by blasting with small amount of explosives in the hole. However environmental factors not only limit the applications but also increase the forbidden area. As this is a distributed multi-stage blasting method and to reduce vibration by applying the optimized precisioncontrol-blasting method, it is applicable in all situations. The process is to fix the stemming-help plastic sheet to the hole entrance when stemming explosives and insert detonator and explosive primer with same delay time, two or three sets. This method is more efficient in the downtown area where claims and dispute from vibration are expected. This method is easily usable by designing blast pattern even in the area where delay time blasting is difficult after multi-stage explosive stemming due to short length of blast hole (1.2~3.0m) and there is no detonator wire shortage or dead-pressure.

  • A system design has been performed for a vacuum thrust 88 ton staged combustion cycle rocket engine. Previous research has been used to estimate the performance of the engine components. And the algorithm has been proposed to evaluate the converged engine system performance. The present methodolgy has been verified by comparing the published data for RD-180. The present work adopts the most of the previous KSLV-II engine heritage for both performance improvement and cost competitiveness. The combustion pressure has been decided as 12MPa considering manufacturing difficulty, cost and performance improvement, and as a result the vacuum specific impulse has increased by 23.4s.

  • 본 논문은 포워드-플라이백 컨버터와 태양광 단일 전원 비대칭 다단식 H-bridge 다중 레벨 인버터를 적용한 태양광 전력 조절 시스템에 관한 논문이다. 이는 기존에 연구되었던 대칭형 다단식 H-Brdige 다중 레벨 인버터나 플라이백 컨버터를 사용한 태양광 전력 조절 시스템의 단점을 보완 한 것이다. 대칭형 다단식 멀티 레벨 인버터는 각 H-Bridge 구조 마다 독립된 전원이 필요하지만, 포워드-플라이백(Foward-Flyback) 컨버터를 접목시켜 단일 태양광 전원으로 하나의 다단식 H-Brdige 인버터를 구성 할 수 있고, 또한 기존의 플라이백 컨버터를 포워드-플라이백 컨버터로 대체 하면서 기존 대비 대용량 설비가 용이하고 효율적인 태양광 전력 조절 시스템을 설계 할 수 있다. 제안한 시스템의 가능성을 확인하기 위하여, PSIM 시뮬레이션을 통해 계통 연계형 1kW급 태양광 시스템의 최대 전력 추종 제어(Maximum Power Point Tracking)와 인버터의 $V_{dc}$ 전압 제어를 확인하였다.
