  • According to Symantec's Internet Security Threat Report(2018), Internet security threats such as Cryptojackings, Ransomwares, and Mobile malwares are rapidly increasing and diversifying. It means that detection of malwares requires not only the detection accuracy but also versatility. In the past, malware detection technology focused on qualitative performance due to the problems such as encryption and obfuscation. However, nowadays, considering the diversity of malware, versatility is required in detecting various malwares. Additionally the optimization is required in terms of computing power for detecting malware. In this paper, we present Stream Order(SO)-CNN and Incremental Coordinate(IC)-CNN, which are malware detection schemes using CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) that effectively detect intelligent and diversified malwares. The proposed methods visualize each malware binary file onto a fixed sized image. The visualized malware binaries are learned through GoogLeNet to form a deep learning model. Our model detects and classifies malwares. The proposed method reveals better performance than the conventional method.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the collective characteristics of SMEs on M&A activity on the disclosure effect of mergers and long-term business performance after mergers. From 2000 to 2012, we examine 717 cases of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using multiple regression analysis and difference analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is confirmed that the effect on the merger announcement effect is the same as the previous study on the Korean capital market listed companies except for the effect of diversification, listing effect, and cross-border effect. In addition, we have found that firms with higher performance in the past have higher excess returns in the disclosure effect of mergers and acquisitions. Second, unlike the previous studies that non-related mergers have a positive effect on long-term operating performance, for the characteristics of SMEs with lower market competitiveness than that of average listed companies, SMEs merging with same industry group companies have a positive effect on long-term operating performance. This study provides a new perspective on the merger and acquisition of SMEs by examining the effects of M&A announcement and long-term performance.

  • For several decades in history of cartoon, it was about the era of publishing tendency based on printing technique just until few years before now. The media critic Marshall McLuhan said, "The cartoon of the 20th century have characters of printing or woodblock printing yet. Coming in to the 1980s, unlike traditional printing, cartoons of more various form appeared such as 'Moving cartoon, CD-ROM cartoon, Click-cartoon'. These phenomenons diversified and accelerated during the electronic equipments and internet that cartoon were able to be produced and distributed on not printing forms were progressing and popularizing. Like these, base on the progress of various forms in webtoon, this study will suggest 3 concept about expansion of Spatial Expressions of expression and cognition such as 'Reminiscent of The Vertical Image', 'The Vertical Panorama' and 'The Morphing into Spaces'. Also, , , the works of Doha Kang who is in the spotlight as the webtoonist of avant-garde and dynamic works, will be examined and analysed as the texts. Doha Kang was selectied as a 'Contemporary Twenty Webtoonist in Korea' from a survey of the cartoon's experts in korea by Bucheon Cartoon Information Center in 2009. He has recognized as the most experimental and be influential webtoonist from beginning of webtoon era to today. In this context, the analyses of his two works that was published in 2007, 2009 each, will helps understanding from diverse viewpoint about webtoon's expressions and structures. • Since the late 1990s Vinacafe has gone through strategic changes in corporate governance and managements due to an increase in the introduction of coffee MNCs, a growth of global demands in sustainable coffee, aging coffee tree, and the deterioration of coffee production with climate changes in Vietnam. Vinacafe has attempted to cope with these kinds of changes through strategies for equitization. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to identify strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese coffee industry by investigating changes in corporate governance and processes of coffee production and distribution. The equitization of Vinacafe has led to the enhancement of coffee competitiveness in two perspectives. Firstly, as it has decentralized decision-making from headquarter, subsidiaries have become able to strength their competitiveness themselves by introducing new technologies, improving coffee quality, and encouraging the introduction of eco-friendly production methods through cooperative relationships with stakeholders involved in coffee production and distributions in Vietnam. Secondly, it has also enhanced competitiveness through the diversification and effectiveness of coffee managements by intensifying the flexibility of contract with coffee farmers and diversifying coffee sales and supply chains in Vietnam.

  • This study tried to test the result of recent study reporting that there is no the effect of cross-subsidization by applying it to the Korean banks. Besides, the study also did the research to test the previous study that diversification toward non-interest operating sector is related with the motivation of reduction of bank risk. Main results are as follows. First, there is the effect of cross-subsidization between non-interest operating sector and interest one. The higher non-interest profit to total asset is, the lower loan growth and provision to total loan are. Second, the effect of cross-subsidization is related with the fee revenue to operating revenue rather than the fiduciary revenue to operating revenue because high fee revenue results in shrinking the lending business. Third, diversification toward non-interest sector is associated with reducing risk, and risk is not increased when the high performance of non-interest sector is occurred. This evidence is not line with DeYoung, Torna (2013) arguing that non-interest operating activities lead to increasing risk. Finally, Korean banks have to expand the activities in non-interesting sector focusing on boosting fee revenue to increase the effect of cross-subsidization against the possibility of cutting net interest margin.

  • The protection of fundamental rights of people is a natural duty of a state. Since Constitutional Law declare that a state is obliged to protect the fundamental rights of people obviously, it is reasonable to postulate that a state has a duty to protect every person's right much more positively. Of course, it is true that whereas right of freedom is much more important in modern states, the social right becomes more important currently. Nevertheless, we have no choice but to put an emphasis on the importance of the right of freedom like modern states. Thus states are still bound to try to protect the right of people, specific duty of behavior for the sake of right of freedom belongs to states. In particular, due to the fact that lifts are essential to our comfortable life and the demage from the accident concerning with the lifts is fatal, the strategy for securing the safety of using the lifts is significant to some extent. And because it is true that the experience of UK that put an emphasis on the role of civil actors is meaningful to us, there seems implications for us. Accordingly, it is possible to consider the material components such as the check of safety before installation for the sake of safety enhancement, quality control for lifts parts, specification of check criterion and variation of check cycle etc. and personal ones such as specification of qualification of competent persons, guarantee of competent person's independence, variation of obligator's duty and variation of user's obligation etc. However, as the situation of UK is one thing and that of Korea is another, we don't have to adhere to the policy and the experience of UK strictly. Rather, we had better apply the policy and experience of UK to ours appropriately.

  • This study is to analyze the effects of both the bilateral FTA and a home and its trade partner's FTAs on the trade with 62 country-pair panel data over the period of 2003-2013 using the gravity model and the spatial autoregressive model. First, the study analyzes how the bilateral FTAs affect the trade using the gravity model and the spatial model. Next, the article analyzes how the home and its trade partners' FTAs affect their trade using only the spatial model under controlling the bilateral FTA. The empirical results are summarized as the followings: first, the spatial mode fits well more than the gravity model in analyzing the relationship between the bilateral FTA and trade. It implies that the spatial spillover effect of FTA is important in the international trade with FTA. Second, the bilateral FTA plays a role in expanding the trade between or among the FTA members as proved by the previous studies. Third, the more the home and its trade partners' FTAs, the more the bilateral trade are extended. Fourth, with the bilateral FTAs, as the home and its trade partners enter into more FTAs, the bilateral trade reduces due to trade diversion effects. In conclusion, this study provides a political implication that in order to increase the trade volume, a country enters into as many FTAs as possible because the effects of the bilateral FTAs would decrease.

  • This study explores the factors that moderate the impact of competitive strategy on resource sharing in order to explain why existing empirical research has not shown statistically significant results. We test the hypothesis that competitive strategy pursuing low-cost rather than differentiation increases resource sharing and analyze how the relationship between competitive strategy and resource sharing changes when diversification, interconnectedness, centralization of authority, and resource level are entered into the equation as moderating variables. According to the results, competitive strategy doesn't affect resource sharing alone, but it has significant effects on resource sharing when it is combined with interconnectedness, centralization of authority, and resource level, except for diversification. This means that low-cost strategy increases resource sharing under the conditions of high interconnectedness, more centralized authority, and low resource level. The prior discussions have focused on the willingness or intentions of resource sharing without considering the abilities or possibilities. Our findings indicate that resource sharing could be better predicted by using moderating variables reflecting the abilities or possibilities. The contribution of the study is that we discover and complement the vulnerability in the logic of resource sharing.
