  • 본 논문은 능동형상모델(Active Shape Model: ASM)을 사용하여 손바닥의 형상을 추출하고 경계형상을 추적하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 경계추적을 위한 초기위치를 입력하기 위해 컬러영상에서 피부색영역의 위치 정보를 통해 중심점을 찾고 그 값을 통해 ASM을 이용하여 손바닥의 영역을 찾는다. ASM은 다양한 경계형상의 학습을 통해 평균값과 형상의 지배적 변형을 나타내는 형상벡터를 추출하기 위한 방법론이며 생체조직과 같은 형상이 일정하지 않고 평균형상을 기준으로 변화하는 형상의 외형을 추출, 추적하기에 적합한 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 피부색 특징을 이용하여 초기 손바닥의 위치를 찾고 이러한 위치정보를 이용하여 손 경계형상의 변화를 추적하는 방법을 실험을 통해 검증하였다

A Bone Age Assessment Method Based on Normalized Shape Model (정규화된 형상 모델을 이용한 뼈 나이 측정 방법)

  • Bone age assessment has been widely used in pediatrics to identify endocrine problems of children. Since the number of trained doctors is far less than the demands, there has been numerous requests for automatic estimation of bone age. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an automatic bone age assessment method that utilizes pattern classification techniques. The proposed method consists of three modules; a finger segmentation module, a normalized shape model generation module and a bone age estimation module. The finger segmentation module segments fingers and epiphyseal regions by means of various image processing algorithms. The shape model abstraction module employ ASM to improves the accuracy of feature extraction for bone age estimation. In addition, SVM is used for estimation of bone age. Features for the estimation include the length of bone and the ratios of bone length. We evaluated the performance of the proposed method through statistical analysis by comparing the bone age assessment results by clinical experts and the proposed automatic method. Through the experimental results, the mean error of the assessment was 0.679 year, which was better than the average error acceptable in clinical practice.

Hysteretic Behavior Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Columns Retrofitted with Iron-based Shape Memory Alloy Strips (철계 형상기억합금 스트립으로 보강된 콘크리트 기둥의 반복이력거동 평가)

  • This paper presents experimental and analytical studies on the lateral cyclic behavior of RC columns actively confined with iron-based shape memory alloy (Fe-SMA) strips. Based on the Anexperimental study, we investigated the effectiveness of active confinement through compression testings of concrete cylinders confined by Fe SMA strips and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. The test results showed that the specimens confined with Fe SMA strips significantly increased the deformation capacity of the concrete, even under lower confining pressures, compared to those specimensconfined with CFRP sheets. The experimental results were used to develop finite-element models of RC columns confined with Fe SMA or CFRP in their plastic-hinge region. After validating the proposed analytical model through comparison with the results from a previous RC column test, a series of lateral cyclic load analyses were carried out for the RC columns confined with Fe SMA and CFRP. The analytical results revealed that the lateral cyclic behavior of the Fe SMA-confined column was greatly enhanced in terms of deformation and energy dissipation capacities compared with tothat of the as-built and CFRP-confined columns.

  • 본 연구에서는 격자패널을 통한 소음전달을 감소시키기 위하여 외부 구조적 가진으로부터 유발된 경량 패널의 진동을 능동 제어하는 기법을 기술한다. 최적 되먹임제어기와 적응 앞먹임제어기가 결합된 혼합형 제어기가 진동제어기로 사용된다. 되먹임제어기는 주파수 영역의 모델규명법에 의해 추출된 다중 입/출력 패널진동계 모델에 대하여 LQG 최적기법을 이용하여 감쇠능을 향상시키도록 설계된다. 앞먹임제어기는 되먹임 궤환의 결합효과를 자동적으로 보정할 수 있는 제안된 학습법칙에 기초하여 패널의 잔류진동이 최소가 되도록 적응된다. 45.7${\times}$45.7${\times}$2.54 ${cm^3}$ 벌집형상의 고강도 패널, 4개의 관성형 구동기 및 이산신호처리장치에 의해 구현된 패널 진동계에 대한 능동제어 실험을 수행해 본 결과 600Hz 주파수대역에 대한 12dB 진동저감이 이루어 질 수 있었다.

  • This Paper the practical echo signal synthesis model to predict the target strength and signal shape of a submarine for a valuable tool to active sonar engineer. It is based on UTAHID (Underwater TArget by Highlight Distribution) model which is relocated highlight points along to external hull for aspect angle, and synthesized echo signal by modified grouping highlights to internal scatter cloud. Proposed model is analyzed target strength characteristics on various incident pulse length, and synthesis signal signature, target time spreading loss, echo elongation effect and so on. Thus it can be efficiently used in various real systems related to underwater target echo signal synthesis, that is, active sonar, acoustic countermeasure and surveillance system.

  • In this paper, a reconfigurable model following flight control method is proposed based on direct adaptive scheme using parameter estimation. Adaptive control scheme updates the control gains to make the system output follow the reference output even when fault occurs. By adopting the frequency domain parameter estimation method, system changes by the fault can be estimated. Recursive Fourier transformation is used for system identification. Using recursive Fourier transform, the proposed adaptive control algorithm guarantees the system stability and improves the system characteristics. To evaluate the performance of proposed control method, numerical simulations are performed.

Tracking a Moving Object Using an Active Contour Model Based on a Frame Difference Map (차 영상 맵 기반의 능동 윤곽선 모델을 이용한 이동 물체 추적)

  • This paper presents a video tracking method for a deformable moving object using an active contour model in the image sequences. It is quite important to decide the local convergence directions of the contour points for correctly extracting the boundary of the moving object with deformable shape. For this purpose, an energy function for the active contour model is newly proposed by adding a directional energy term using a frame difference map to tile Greedy algorithm. In addition, an updating rule of tile frame difference map is developed to encourage the stable convergence of the contour points. Experimental results on a set of synthetic and real image sequences showed that the proposed method can fully track the deformable object while extracting the boundary of the object elaborately in every frame.

Target Scattering Echo Simulation for Active Sonar System in the Geometric Optics Region (기하광학영역에서의 능동소나 표적신호합성)

  • Since the new field information of target signal is important in the development and verification of active sonar system, experimental method and simulation technique are widely used in order to analyze the detail characteristics of target scattered echoes. Therefore, in this paper, the scale target experiment is performed to develope and Improve the target signal simulation model. Since the experimental results show that the specular reflection is the major component among scattering mechanisms, the target signal simulation model based on the Geometric Optics Theory (GOT) is developed. Complex target is separated into simple shapes, known as canonical shape. The contribution from individual canonical shapes are summed with proper phase and amplitude to produce the target strength of the whole complex body. Simulated target signal is compared with the experimental results and discussed.

압전MEMS의 가상신속시작을 위한 유한요소해석이용 수치해의 개발

  • 이 논문에서는 압전 MEMS에 대한 유한요소해석(FEA)응용이 연구되었다. 압전MEMS와 관련한 특수재료 및 기하학적 형상에 대한 몇 가지 두드러진 특징 및 앞으로의 연구가치가 있는 주제도 아울러 다룬다. 압전 능동박막을 이용한 센서 및 액츄에이터를 포함하는 단순구조에 대한 FEA모델링이 제시되었다. ZnO가 압전 재료로 사용되었다. 정적 전기기계적해석이 두 가지 모델에 대해 수행되었다. 압전효과로 발생한 처짐 및 센 서의 출력전압에 대한 FEA 결과는 해석치 혹은 실험측정값과도 우수하게 일치하였다. ANSYS가 P-MEMS의 가상신속시작체계를 위한 우수한 FEA도구임이 본 논문을 통해서 보여졌다.

  • To control the noise of an enclosed sound field, we built a state space model using the acoustic modal parameter description. Using the state space model, we can investigate the controllability and observability, and find an appropriate position of control speaker and microphone to control sound field of the enclosed space. We implemented LQR(linear quadratic regulator) controller and reduced order observer to reduce the first acoustic mode. Experiments showed satisfactory results of 4∼10 dB reduction of magnitude of the first acoustic mode, and support the feasibility of the proposed scheme to lightly damped acoustic field.
