Facial Behavior Recognition for Driver's Fatigue Detection (운전자 피로 감지를 위한 얼굴 동작 인식)

  • This paper is proposed to an novel facial behavior recognition system for driver's fatigue detection. Facial behavior is shown in various facial feature such as head expression, head pose, gaze, wrinkles. But it is very difficult to clearly discriminate a certain behavior by the obtained facial feature. Because, the behavior of a person is complicated and the face representing behavior is vague in providing enough information. The proposed system for facial behavior recognition first performs detection facial feature such as eye tracking, facial feature tracking, furrow detection, head orientation estimation, head motion detection and indicates the obtained feature by AU of FACS. On the basis of the obtained AU, it infers probability each state occur through Bayesian network.

Binocular Dysfunction-Case Study of Vision Therapy in Convergence Excess (양안시이상-폭주과다 교정의 임상사례)

  • This study was performed to investigate whether vision therapy (vision training) was an effective way to influence fusional vergence and asthenopic symptoms in case of convergence excess. Patients who had esophoria at far and near had history and symptoms (horizontal diplopia, eye strain, asthenopia and blur). Among them for one chosen patient who had convergence excess, vision therapy and added plus lens were prescribed and trained for 7 weeks. 7 weeks later vision therapy was quite effective, that is, it was an effective means of reducing symptoms, improving fusional vergence and decompensating esophoria in patient with convergence excess. Therefore continuous research of vision therapy in binocular dysfunction was necessary.

Factors Influencing VDT syndrome among male adolescents with risk of digital addiction (디지털중독 위험군 남학생의 VDT 자각증상 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the influential factors associated with video display terminal (VDT) syndrome of male adolescents with digital device addition. The study design was cross-sectional descriptive survey. The study participants were 169 male middle school students in Seoul. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection and data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The factors most influential for the subjective symptoms of VDT were smartphone addiction, computer use time during the week, computer use environment. These factors accounted for 28.1% of the variance in subjective symptoms of VDT. In order to prevent the occurrence of VDT syndrome in students, we suggest to establish a preventive intervention against the digital addiction.

  • With the spread of various digital devices, devices have become commonplace in modern society. Moreover, due to the increase in device usage and online learning while staying indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic, symptoms such as an increase in myopia in children due to eye fatigue, an increase in young presbyopia, and dry eye syndrome are increasing, and now people are paying attention to eye health. This is different from before. There are various prescriptions for eye health, but in this paper, we would like to propose a training method for enhancing visual function using VR contents. The analog methods of the existing teaching aids for visual function reinforcement training were planned and produced as digital contents, and VR-based training contents were selected from among the various methods carried out with teaching aids at the visual function training center, which can be made into contents. was developed with In the training process for each content, it was proposed to apply eye tracking to the VR device in order to give the user feedback on their participation in the training so that the management and concentration of the training process could be analyzed.

HDR 비디오의 플리커 저감효과를 위한 톤 안정화 알고리즘 연구

  • 영상의 화질 개선과 높은 대비를 얻기 위한 방법으로 최근 HDR(High Dynamic Range)영상을 디스플레이 장치에 매핑시키기 위한 톤매핑 기술이 널리 이용되고 있다. 하지만 단일프레임이 아닌 다중프레임으로 구성되어 있는 비디오에 이러한 톤매핑기술을 적용할 경우, 프레임 간 명암도 차이로 인하여 시각적으로 깜빡이는 현상인 플리커(Flicker)가 발생할 수 있으며, 이로 인해 사용자의 눈에 피로도를 증가시키고, 영상의 품질이 감소할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 플리커 판별을 위해 영상의 명암도 측정법을 제안하여, 프레임별 명암값을 학습하기 위한 다양한 특징벡터를 정의한다. 학습된 SVM(Support Vector Machine) 분류기를 이용하여 플리커 발생 프레임을 선별하고 플리커 제거를 위한 톤 안정화 방법을 제안한다. 실험에서 제안한 방법을 통해 86.7%의 플리커를 검출하였으며, 프레임 간 톤 안정화 알고리즘의 최적화를 통해 플리커 발생빈도를 69.8% 감소시켰다.

  • 최근 들어, 실감형 콘텐츠를 제작하기 위한 무안경 다시점 3DTV 와 가상, 증강현실 콘텐츠에 대한 기술개발이 활발해 지고 있다. 또한, UHDTV 의 등장으로 무안경 다시점 3DTV 의 걸림돌이던 해상도 저하문제가 해결되면서 시점당 해상도가 향상된 다시점 3D 디스플레이 상용품 및 시제품들이 발표되고 있다. 하지만, 시청 위치가 한정되어 있고, 시청자에게 눈의 피로를 일으키며, 비싼 가격으로 인해 아직까지 소비자에게 좋은 반응을 얻지 못하고 있다. 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위해, 본 논문은 다시점 영상을 증강현실로 보여주는 방법을 소개한다. 제안한 방법을 사용하기 위해, 다시점 카메라 시스템으로 영상을 획득하고, HMD (head mounted display)와 휴대용 (handheld) 장치를 사용하여 다시점 영상을 시청한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안한 방법이 기존의 시점 제한 문제를 해결할 수 있음을 확인했으며, 제안한 방법을 활용하여 다양한 실감형 콘텐츠를 제작할 것으로 기대한다.

  • 3차원 영상은 정보전달의 효과 면에서 기존의 어떠한 디스플레이보다 월등한 것으로 평가되고 있으며, 입체 TV/영화, 게임, 의료, 관광, 전시, 회의 등의 여러 분야에서 다양하게 응용되리라 기대된다. 이에 따라 3차원 영상을 구현하기 위한 여러 방법들이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 홀로그래피 방법은 이론적으로 완전한 입체 영상을 구현할 수 있으나, 광원으로 레이저를 사용해야 하는 등 현재로서는 해결해야 할 문제들이 많다. 양안 시차를 이용한 stereoscopy 방법은 multi-view 방식이 꾸준히 연구되고 있지만, 시점의 위치가 고정되고 눈의 피로도가 증가하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 주목받고 있는 IP(Integral Photography) 방법을 이용한 3차원 동영상 디스플레이 기술에 대한 기초 연구 수행 결과를 논의하고자 한다.   • The reason why visual fatigue occurs while watching 3D TV is because the left/right images of the fixed disparity are played. This paper proposes a measuring method of pupil distance and the 3D location of a viewer using stereo camera modules, and a reflection method of the data into 3D TV.
