Development of Arc Fault Interruption Control Circuit of Fault Voltage Sensing Type (사고전압 감지형 아크차단 제어회로 개발)

  • This paper studies on an arc fault interruption control circuit (AFICC) of fault voltage sensing type. The proposed voltage sensing type AFICC (VST_AFICC) is an electrical fire prevention apparatus that operates the existing circuit breaker with sensing the instantaneous voltage drop of line voltage when occurs electrical faults. The existing Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELB), Molded_case Circuit Breaker (MCCB), and Residual Current Protective Devices (RCDs) used in low voltage distributing system don't have protective capability from electric arc faults to be a major factor of electrical fire. In this paper to improve such problems, a new VST_AFICC using the distortion of voltage waveform when occurs electrical faults is proposed to prevent electrical fire. There is characteristic that the control method of proposed apparatus is different from previous current sensing type. The proposed AFICC has merit that is manufactured by small size and light weight. The practicality of a new VST_AFICC is also verified through various operation analysis.

  • 최근 가로등에 의한 감전사가 사회적 관심을 끌고 있다. 가로등은 감전사고의 위험성이 높은 도로시설물로 철저한 감전사고 예방대책이 요구되지만 누전 차단기에 의존하는 기존의 대책으로는 사고예방에 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 중성점 접지 방식을 개선하고자 가로등 전용 변압기를 설치하여 침수 우려 시 중성점 접지를 개방하고 순간적인 접지스위칭을 실시함으로써 접지시스템과 비 접지시스템의 장점을 모두 유지할 수 있게 함으로써 원활한 시스템운전을 보장하면서도 감전사고를 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • False-tripping of MCCB(Molded Case Circuit Breaker) and ELB(Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker), using to protect overload and ground-fault accidents in power system raise direct and indirect losses like as information loss, facilities damage, slipup of goods production in industry place. Cause of false-tipping of MCCB and ELB is various and cause analysis of false-tripping is mostly made up by inference because trip is not reappeared. This paper investigated and analyzed causes and influences of false-tripping of MCCB and ELB by making up a question to safety managers of two hundred and eighteen electrical facilities for private use. Also, the necessity of experimental study on the effect of harmonics on false-tipping of MCCB and ELB was presented.

  • This paper presented a actual conditions on a false-tripping of ELB(Electrical Leakage Breaker) and an assessment of the harmonics due to non-linear electronic equipment such as personal computers, printers, fax machines, and test equipments in several office buildings. Actual conditions on a failure of ELB were surveyed and analyzed by making up a question to safety managers of in office buildings. Also, power quality measurements such as harmonic currents, voltage and current waveforms and current imbalance were made at various office buildings where nuisance tripping of ELB is often occurred. The results of this study can be used in making decisions regarding cause of ELB trip and operating md tripping characteristics test of ELB when subjected to distorted current waveforms.

  • 현재 우리나라에서는 누전차단기(ELB)만이 전기화재를 예방하고 있는 상황이며 그 효과도 미비하기 때문에 대부분의 회로망에서는 아크에 의한 전기화재의 잠재적인 요소들이 존재하고 있다. 이러한 잠재적인 아크가 전기화재로 이어지지 않을지라도 대부분의 전기기기의 출력측에 상당한 변화를 가져올 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전력변환장치에서 발생할 수 있는 아크를 모의하고 그 영향들을 분석하였다.

  • Fault rate of RCD is increasing due to deterioration and long period usage in domestic. According to Korean standards, the RCDs are installed in panel boards. When RCDs are installed at outdoor, the RCDs must be protected from uv, water etc. by using the housing. However, many RCDs are exposed to the external environment. As a results, many RCDs have malfunctions so that cause the electrical accidents. The RCDs manufactured by four makes were used as the sample to weathering test. Futhermore, those were analyzed the ingredients of RCD'S using SEM, EDX and FT-IR/TAR before and after weathering test.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of insulating material with ELB(earth leakage circuit breaker) through tracking experiment and the study was carried out three different types of samples. The tracking is breakdown phenomenon of material surface that is generated on the organic insulating material. The test method applied IEC publication 587. The result of the sample breakdown by tracking was carbonized and resistance of between the electrodes is approximately 300$\Omega$. In the result of DSC analysis, the caloric peak was detected before 100$^{\circ}C$ in product of tracking. It appeared weight loss of 10.87% at 537$^{\circ}C$ on TGA. IR spectrum analysis showed carbon-hydrogen(C-H)bond on molecular structure that is the sample of tracking.

  • 누전차단기 설치 상태에서도 전기화재가 지속적으로 발생함에 따라 전기화재의 원인이 되는 전기 아크에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있는 실정으로 본 논문에서는 UL1699의 아크 저해시험(inhibition tests)에서 제시하고 있는 직렬 아크코장시험(Arc generator test)을 실시하고, 아크고장전류 분석방법으로 최근에 많이 사용되고 있는 이산 웨이블렛 변환을 이용한 3가지 분석방법에 대하여 아크고장전류 검출 확률을 분석하였다. 분석결과, (1) 근사계수 분석에 의한 최대치 변화율 실효치 변화율 분석방법은 46%의 검출 확률을 얻을 수 있었고, (2) 상세계수 분석에 의한 최대치 변화율 실효치 변화율 분석방법은 62%, (3) 근사계수 분석에 의한 잡음량 변화율 shoulder 변화율 분석방법은 100% 검출 확률을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 최근의 가정용 전기 설비의 경우 다양화, 첨단화 되면서 과거에는 예상치 못했던 재해들이 발생하여 기존의 설비에 영향을 주는 경우가 생겨난다. 특히 누전 차단기의 경우 고조파, 대지 정전용량 등에 의하여 오동작 요소로 작용하고 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 저항성 누설 전류에 대한 분석이 필요하며 이를 위하여 전압 위상과 전류 위상, 누설 전류 위상을 검출하여 비교함으로써 순수 저항성 누설 전류와 용량성 누설전류에 대한 분석을 검출 모니터링하여 비전문가 집단인 수용가 특히 가정에서 보다 안전한 전기사용과 관리에 활용 하고자한다.

  • In this study, we have developed the active leakage current detection module based on a MSP430 processor, 16bit signal processor. This module can be operated in a desired trip threshold within 0.03 seconds as specified in KS C 4613. This developed module is expected to be applicable as a module for prevention of electric shock in smart distribution panel of smart grid.
