A basic design of P-C-M Support System in Agricultural Facilities (농촌시설물 P-C-M 지원 시스템의 기본설계)

  • This study is the basic design of a P-C-M support system for Agricultural Facilities. By utilizing this system, many users of Agricultural Facilities can easily obtain a large amount of information, ranging from procurement to maintenance. The procurement phase suppliesthe user with agricultural facilities information, economical analysis, and corporation information for procurement decisions. Furthermore, this phase shows the shape or format of the agricultural facilities, the main materials, as well as information on the cultivated crops. The construction phase shows information about agricultural facility-related laws, as well as standard drawings or a construction guide. The maintenance phase shows a guide of maintenance-related checklists. With the results of a basic design of a P-C-M Support System for Agricultural Facilities, the P-C-M support system menu tree is established.

The Evaluation of Biodiversity Functions According to Land Use in Rural Areas (농촌지역 토지이용에 따른 생물다양성 기능 평가)

  • Rural and agricultural landscapes are important forms of land use in maintaining biodiversity. In addition humans are provided with various public functions from ecosystems and agricultural ecosystems. But the creation of a facility horticultural complex can be a space that can undermine the public interest function of the agricultural ecosystem. Therefore, this study aims to quantify the function of ecosystem services that land use changes affect biodiversity in Korea's rice paddy fields. The area subject to the study was selected as the largest agricultural complex in Korea due to rice paddy fields and land use changes, and field agriculture was also carried out simultaneously. The survey was conducted only in the fields of vegetation, insects, amphibians, and birds, four areas of biodiversity that are believed to have a high impact on changes in land use in agricultural landscapes. The valuation of ecosystem services in four areas of biodiversity derived from this study was evaluated as non-market value. As a result of quantitative evaluation, about 25 species of vegetation were reduced due to changes in land use. The diversity of about 40 species of aquatic insects that inhabit rice paddies among insects has disappeared due to the creation of a horticultural complex. Birds and amphibian reptiles were also found to have decreased diversity and populations. This research is expected to be used in various ways to develop policies to enhance ecosystem service functions.

Development of Early Maturing Rice Stripe Virus Disease-Resistant 'Haedamssal' through Marker-Assisted Selection (MAS를 이용한 줄무늬잎마름병 저항성 조생종 벼 '해담쌀' 개발)

  • 'Haedamssal' is an early maturing and rice stripe virus disease-resistant cultivar adaptable for early-transplanting cultivation that was developed by the rice breeding team of the Department of Southern Crop, NICS, RDA, in 2014. This cultivar was derived from the cross YR25869 (YR21247-B-B-B-49-1/Sasanishiki BL4//Koshihikari) and YR25868 (Unkwang//YR21247-B-B-B-49-1/Sasanishiki BL4) made in the 2005/2006 winter season and was advanced to the F5 generation by a bulk breeding method using rapid generation advance. To incorporate rice stripe virus resistance, marker-assisted selection on the RSV gene was conducted in 3-way and 6-way cross F1 generation using the tightly linked marker RM6897. From testing in the replicated yield trial in 2011, a promising line YR26258-B-B-B-33-3 was selected and it was designated as 'Milyang276'. A local adaptability test of 'Milyang276' was performed at three locations from 2012 to 2014 and it was named as 'Haedamssal', which was a good eating quality variety. The culm length was 67 cm in yield trials, which was 4 cm shorter than 'Jopyeong'. The number of spikelets per panicle was lower than 'Jopyeong', whereas the number of tillers per hill was higher. This variety was resistant to RSV disease, bacterial blight, and leaf blast disease. The milled rice yield of 'Haedamssal' was 5.48 MT per ha at the early transplanting in the local adaptability test. 'Haedamssal' is well adapted to early transplanting cultivation in the southern plain area (Registration No. 6811).

Development and Characterization of New Tall fescue Variety 'Greenmaster4ho' (톨 페스큐 신품종 '그린마스터4호'의 품종 특성 및 수량성)

  • A new variety of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) named 'Greenmaster4ho' was developed during the cultivation year 2010-2017 at Grassland and Forages Division, National Institute of Animal Science, Rural Development Administration, Cheonan, Korea. In order to produce this new variety, 5 superior tall fescue lines including 12XFa07, 12XFa15, 12XFa24, 12XFa46, and 12XFa48 were polycrossed. The new variety Greenmaster4ho was evaluated in field test (Cheonan, Pyeongchang, Jeju, and Jinju) for determining the agronomic growth characteristics and forage production capability during 3 years (2015-2017). The dry matter yield (16,236 kg/ha) of Greenmaster4ho was 5 % higher than Fawn, but the nutritive value as forage crops was not significantly different with Fawn. Development of new tall fescue variety with excellent adaptability to changing unfavorable environment would be useful for forage cultivation and yield in Korean environment.

Effect of Attributes of Three Stakeholders on the Outcome of the Village-based Rural Tourism Project in Korea (농촌관광사업의 Stakeholders의 특성이 사업성과에 미치는 효과)

  • 본 연구는 농촌관광사업의 Stakeholders간의 관계 측면에서 참여주민의 특성이 개발기관과 주민조직의 특성과 어떤 관계가 있으며, 이 세 요소가 개발 성과에 어떤 인과관계가 있는지를 밝히는데 있다. 참여주민의 특성으로 사회와 참여주민에 대한 가치체계, 즉 사회자본의 요소들인 신뢰, 규범, 공동체의식 및 네트워크에의 참여를, 개발기관의 특성으로 지원내용과 지원만족도를, 그리고 주민주직의 특성으로 주민조직의 경영역량인 기획, 조직, 지도력, 통제를 측정항목으로 설정하였다. 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 45개 마을에서 227명의 농촌관광 참여자들을 대상으로 상관분석과 경로 분석을 실시하였다. 경로분석 결과 사회자본이 사업성과에 미치는 직접적인 효과는 0.60으로 상당 부분의 영향을 미침을 설명하고 있었다. 반면 개발기관의 지원특성은 주민조직의 경영역량과 유의성 있는 상관이 있었으나 사업성과에 직접적인 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 개발사업의 효과가 외부지원에 의해서가 아니라 주민 자체의 역량에 의해서 결정됨을 설명한다. 농촌관광사업이 효과를 얻기 위해서는 공동체의식, 주민과 개발기관간의 상호 신뢰감 조성 등 주민의식의 고양이 필요하며, 특히 주민조직체의 경영역량 함량을 위해 제도적 지원이 강화되어야 할 것이다.

  • This research examines classification of rural experience tourism villages and case study of 4 villages in Gyeonggi Province through theoretical studies on residents' participation and roles as the subject of regional development in the perspectives of place assets. The four types classified are as follows: 1) community systemization, 2) individual systemization, 3) community integration, and 4) individual integration. In order to achieve type of community integration, we pay attention to get more interests in intensifying the community systemization and further alternative approaches to rural tourism villages.

  • 본 연구는 수자원의 지속적 확보기술 개발의 기본 모형인 SWAT 모형의 농촌용수지구 적용을 통해, 모형의 적용성을 평가하고, 지속적인 개선을 목표로 한다. 우리나라의 농촌용수지구인 이동 저수지 상류유역인 농업소유역에 SWAT 모형을 적용하였다. 단위유역에 대한 모형의 적용결과 분석은 미산저수지내 관개량 입력자료와 저수지 운영자료로부터 모형의 거동 분석을 실시하였다. 이동저수지 유역에 포함된 단위유역에 대한 토지이용도, 토양도, 강우관측자료 등 입력자료를 구축하였으며, 논에서의 관리성분 및 저수지 관리성분을 각각 DB화하여 구축하였다. SWAT 모형의 개선을 위하여 모형을 구성하고 있는 논지대에 대한 관리성분을 관개량 측정자료로부터 일별 관개량을 고려할 수 있도록 제시하였다. 단위 유역에 대한 SWAT 모형의 적용결과 관측된 일별 저수량과 SWAT모형과 AGRIMAN모형에 의해 산정된 저수량의 변화가 유사한 경향을 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다 이 지구는 관개지구의 환원수량, 저수지의 여수로 방류량 및 용수 사용량 등에 따라 저수지의 유입하천 및 하류하천의 장기유출량에 복잡한 형태로 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 농업용수 이용에 따른 농촌유역의 유출량, 저수량, 관개량 등 각 수문요소에 대한 정량적 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 단위유역에 대한 모형의 거동을 분석한 결과 농촌유역내에서의 수문성분의 검토가 가능하였으며, 이로부터 본 연구에서 목표로 하고 있는 농촌용수의 물수지 해석 및 수원공의 적정운영을 위한 기초기술이 개발이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

The Effect of Health Promotion Program on the Frailty of Rural Elderly Women Implemented at Primary Health Care Posts (일부 보건진료소에서 실시한 건강증진프로그램이 농촌여성노인의 노쇠에 미치는 효과)

  • Objective: This study was conducted to examine the effects of a health promotion program on the health condition of rural elderly women implemented at primary health care posts using Korean Frailty Index. Methods: The research was designed a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest setting. The participants in this study were 50 residents (intervention group: 25, control group: 25) selected from 4 villages 2 primary health care posts in J city Gyeongsangnam-do. The health promotion program was conducted at the primary health care posts twice a week for 12 weeks. This program consisted of basic exercises(Gukseondo + Theraband muscle strength training) and additional activities(including modified Theraband activity, rubber ball exercise, ball massage, nutrition class, singing class). Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA with SPSS 21.0. Results: Results of the health promotion program showed that the health conditions(measured by perceived health status, frailty score, upper/lower flexibility, maximum grip strength, dynamic balance test Timed Up and Go) of the experimental group(25) all statistical significantly improved. Conclusion: Study findings indicate that the health promotion program implemented at primary health care posts on rural elderly women is effective and can contribute to a developed health promotion program for local residents in the future.

A Lemon Double Multi-flowering Freesia, 'Shiny Lemon' with Early Flowering and High Yield for Cut Flower (연황색 겹꽃 다화성 절화용 프리지아 신품종 'Shiny Lemon' 육성)

  • A lemon double freesia (Freesia hybrida Hort.), 'Shiny Lemon' was developed from a cross between the domestic breeding lines ('Golden Crown' and 'White Wings') and 'Yvonne' followed by seedling and line selections at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration (RDA) in 2007. Growth and flowering characteristic tests were conducted from 2003 to 2006. 'Shiny Lemon' has large double type flower with lemon color (RHS Y13D). It has multiple florets, good flower shape, and upright leaves and stalks. The average cut flower yield of 'Shiny Lemon' was 7.1 cuttings per plant in the greenhouse from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, it has good production of cormlets and vigorous growth. 'Shiny Lemon' could be cultured under greenhouse conditions in Korea.
