This case report describes about recurrent herpetic stomatitis mimicking post-root resection complication. A 49 year-old male patient was diagnosed vertical root fracture of the mesiobuccal root of his left maxillary first molar (#26). The mesiobuccal root was resected following root canal treatment of the same tooth. 19 months later, the patient presented with pain on left hard palate after a barbecue party. Intra oral examination revealed a gum boil-like blister at the hard palate corresponding to the apex of the palatal root of #26. On clinical examination, there was bleeding on probing and the periodontal pocket depth was measured less than 5 mm with no tooth mobility. On a periapical radiograph, periodontal ligament space widening was observed. Tracing the sinus tract with gutta percha cone was attempted, however, it was impossible. Extending the field of vision, small multiple round ulcerations were observed at the palate front which caused pain to the patient. Therefore, the pain was considered a non odontogenic and the patient was referred to the department of oral medicine. The patient was diagnosed recurrent herpetic stomatitis and after 3 days of antiviral medication, the pain and ulceration were subsided.

Hypophosphatemic rickets is lack of reponse to physiologic doses of vitamin D, different from the vitamin D-dependent rickets. It is inherited in an X-linked dominant fashion. The prime features of this disorder are lowered serum phosphate levels, elevated serum alkaline phosphatase and normal serum calcium levels. The dental manifestation often include apical radiolucencies, abscess and fistulas of clinically sound teeth. Dental radiographs show ricketic bone trabeculations, abscent or abnormal lamina dura and abnormal cementum. This case which was diagnosed to hypophosphatemic rickets, showed multiple spontaneous periapical abscess and gingival fistula enlarged pulp chambers, extension of the pulp horns into the cusp tips and delayed eruption.

XLH (X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets) is a form of rickets which is resistant to the usual dose of vitamin D and inherited in a X-linked dominant manner. It is also known as vitamin D-resistant rickets or familial hypophosphatemic rickets. Here we report a 6-year-and-6-month-old female patient of XLH who is diagnosed with in SNUB. She was referred from local clinic for impaction of maxillary left permanent incisor and its treatment. She presents bowing deformities of the legs, short stature, enlargement of wrist and ankles and spontaneous dental abscesses of clinically sound teeth delayed eruption, taurodontism, delayed apical closure, enlarged pulp chambers, and absent or poorly defined lamina dura. The purpose of this case is to review the literatures of XLH and report the dental and medical characteristics of this patient.

Purpose: Surgical intervention into the maxillary posterior area can lead to inadvertent communication with the maxillary sinus. Spontaneous healing of 1 to 2 mm openings can occur. However, in patients with larger oro-antral communications and those with a history of sinus disease, surgical closure is often indicated. Materials and Methods: In this case, a modified free gingival graft technique was used. The oro-antral sinus track after extraction was about $2{\times}4\;mm$. But the patient had a history of Caldwell-Luc operation. Immediately after extraction, a modified free gingival graft was used for the closure of oro-antral sinus track. Result: A modified free gingival graft technique was successfully used for the closure of oro-antral sinus track. With this technique, esthetic results including similar colors, textures were achieved. Conclusion: It is thought that this technique is very useful in the closure of oro-antral sinus track.
