An Empirical Study of Diversity and Interoperability of Programming Languages (프로그래밍 언어의 다원성과 상호운영성의 실증적 분석)

  • Programmers use multiple languages to reuse legacy code best suited to their problems. However, it is quite challenging to develop error-free multilingual programs because new types of bugs occur since misunderstanding about language interfaces such as Java Native Interface (JNI) and Python/C. There is a considerable amount of research to overcome multilingual program bugs and errors but these researches have less consideration about substantiality of programming languages, language interfaces, and bugs to evaluate their analyses and tools. In this paper, we have identified and establish substantiality of multilingual programming research with empirical study about diversity and interoperability of programming languages in Ubuntu software ecosystem based on real-world statistical data.

RMA: Reliable Multicast Architecture for Scalable and Reliable Multicast (RMA: 확장성과 신뢰성을 지원하는 신뢰적인 멀티캐스트 구조)

  • IP Multicast that provides best-efforts service does not guarantee reliable delivery of multicast packets. In recent years, there are many approaches to support reliable multicast, but those are insufficient for implementing scalable and reliable multicast over Internet. We propose a Reliable Multicast Architecture(RMA) for scalable and reliable multicast. The RMA model guarantees reliability using a receiver initiated retransmission mechanism, and scalability using a feedback suppression mechanism by Multicast Router(MR). Furthermore, it utilizes underlying multicast routing information to minimize the cost of protocol modification and overheads. Our performance analyses show that RMA is much superior to previous works in the point of scalability and compatibility.

  • Reference linking based on a identification system is being widely used both domestically and overseas. National R&D information contains all information related to the R&D programs such as the output and equipment information resulting from the participant and project information. The reference linking service enables the user to freely look up output of a certain program, participant of a project, equipment information from the project or participant and all other information that originates from a R&D project without having to search for it. The reference linking service in the area of national R&D will enable the linking of heterogeneous information produced at different sources.

  • This article provides a practical organizational IT ROI evaluation methodology which had been developed by Samsung Group. In order to manage huge IT investment and ROI systematically, firms should establish a management system which can measure various types of IT expenditures, tangible and intangible outcomes of hundreds of KPIs, etc. An episode about the development process and some distinctive features of the methodology were summarized. Finally, we added a real evaluation case of one Samsung affiliate company.

  • The Guaranteed Bandwidth Rate scheme has been designed to accomodate non-real-time applications, such as Internet based traffic in Pm networks. The Guaranteed Bandwidth Rate scheme not only guarantees a minimum throughput at the frame level, but also supports a fair share of available resources. In this paper, we propose a cell control algorithm which can improve the fairness and the throughput through the traffic control in PM networks. For the evaluation of the proposed scheme, we compare proposed scheme with the existing scheme in the fairness and the throughput. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the fairness and throughput than the existing scheme.

  • The Guaranteed Frame Rate(GFR) service has been designed to accomodate non-real-time applications, such as TCP/IP based traffic in ATM networks. The GFR service not only guarantees a minimum throughput at the frame level, but also supports a fair share of available resources. In this paper, we propose a cell scheduling scheme which can improve the fairness and the goodput through the traffic control in GFR service. For the evaluation of the proposed scheme, we compare the proposed scheme with the existing scheme in the fairness and the goodput. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the fairness and goodput comparing with the existing buffer management scheme.

One of the important factors is buffer management for guaranteeing QoS in GFR service. In this paper, we propose a buffer management scheme which can improve the fairness and the throughput through the traffic control in GFR service. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the fairness and throughput than the existing scheme.

  • In 2008, Kim-Jun proposed RFID Mutual Authentication Protocol based on One-Time Random Numbers which are strong in Eavesdropping Attack, Spoofing attack and Replay attack. However, In 2009, Yoon-Yoo proved that it was weak in Replay attack and proposed a protocol which can prevent Replay attack. But Yoon-Yoo's protocol has problems that efficiency on communication and Brute-force attack. This paper shows weak points of Yoon-Yoo's protocol and proposes an RFID mutual authentication protocol with security and performance improvements.

  • Multi-signcryption scheme is an extension of signcryption scheme for multi-signers performing together the signcryption operation on messages, and it provides useful cryptographic functions such as confidentiality and authenticity for the sound circulation of messages through the Internet. In this paper, we show the weaknesses of the previous multi-signcryption schemes. And then we propose a new multi-signcryption scheme that improves the weaknesses and the efficiency of the previous schemes. Our scheme efficiently provides message flexibility, order flexibility, message verifiability, order verifiability, message confidentiality, message unforgeability, non-repudiation and robustness. Therefore, it is suitable for protecting messages and multi-signers from malicious attacks in the Internet.

  • 본 논문에서는 국가 출연연구소에서 수행하고 있는 연구과제들의 기본적인 정보와 각 연구과제에서 산출된 다양한 연구결과(논문, 세미나, 지적재산권 및 기술이전) 정보를 수집/관리하고 이를 다양한 형태의 정보로 기관정보관리자, 연구자, 일반 대중을 대상으로 서비스하는 시스템에 대해 소개 하고자 한다. 본 시스템을 구축하여 서비스함으로써 산발적으로 수행되어 오던 연구개발 정보를 통합 서비스할 수 있는 기반이 마련될 수 있고, 이로 인해 다양한 연구분야의 결과를 보다 쉽게 접할 수 있어 연구결과의 효과적인 전파 및 새로운 융합기술연구 유도에 도움을 줄 수 있게 될 것이다. 또한 체계적인 정보 수집 방안을 마련하고 수집된 정보에 대한 검색 및 조회 서비스, 연구성과 통계제공, 기관별 연구성과 비교 등의 서비스를 제공함으로써 향후 국가차원의 연구개발 정책 추진 및 지원에 필요한 보다 객관적인 근거를 제공할 수 있게 될 것이다.
