The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting the satisfaction of elderly care service in the elderly living alone and to provide basic data for the improvement of the satisfaction of elderly care service. The subjects of this study were 301 elderly people aged 65 or older who were receiving care services for the elderly in J city, Chungbuk province. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influencing factors. The results of this study showed that the factors affecting the satisfaction of elderly care service of the elderly living alone were the manager factor, service factor, institutional factor, and income level. This shows that the higher the life manager, service factor, and institution factor, and the elderly living alone with low income level, the higher the satisfaction of the elderly care service. Especially, the factors of life manager had the greatest effect on the satisfaction of elderly care service, followed by institutional factors and service factors. Based on these results, policy proposals are as follows: First, improvement of professionalism and treatment of life managers, second, professional and systematic service support and strengthening of social safety net, and third, improvement of appropriateness, accessibility and persistence for quality improvement of elderly care service.

지역 사회 서비스는 노인들이 질적으로 보다나은 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 돕는 기능을 해야 한다. 적절한 서비스의 공급을 위해서는 지역사회 서비스 욕구 사정의 과정이 우선적으로 요구되어지며, 이에 본 연구는 호주 NSW주 Illawarra지역내의 retirement village에 거주하는 자가 돌봄이 가능한 노인들의 지역사회 서비스에 대한 욕구를 평가하는데 그 목적을 두었다. Illawarra지역내의 여덟개 retirement village에 거주하는 98명의 자가 돌봄이 가능한 노인들을 대상으로 그들의 1) functional status; 2) 지역 사회 서비스에 대한 지식정도; 3) 지역 사회 서비스 사용정도; 4) 지역 사회 서비스 만족도; 5) 잠재적인 지역 사회 서비스 욕구 등에 대한 자가 보고형 설문조사가 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료들은 JMP(for Mackitosh) program으로 통계 처리되었고, computed frequencies가 본 연구의 목표 달성을 위해 주로 사용되었다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 평균 연령 76세인 대상자들의 80%이상이 그들의 일상 생활 운영에 다른 사람의 도움을 필요로 하지 않으며 건강상태 또한 양호하다고 자각했다. 2. 90%이상의 대상자들이 지역 사회 서비스를 이용하지 않았다. 3. 70%이상의 대상자가 지역 사회 서비스의 존재에 대해 지각하고 있었다. 4. 60%이상의 대상자가 필요시에는 지역 사회 서비스에 관한 정보를 어렵지 않게 얻을 수 있다고 생각했다. 5. 40%의 대상자가 기존의 지역 사회 서비스에 대한 양과 질에 만족을 나타냈고, 그 외의 대상자들 (60%)은 그 지역 사회 서비스에 대한구체적인 지식이 없다고 보고했다. 6. 25%의 대상자들이 여러 지역 사회 서비스에 관한 관심을 보였다. 결론적으로 대다수의 대상자들은 대부분의 지역 사회 서비스들을 필요로 하지 않았고, 이러한 결과는 현재 자가간호가 가능한 retirement village 거주 노인들에게 당연한 것으로 보여진다. 그러나, 자존감이 강한 노인들에게 서비스 욕구는 자가 돌봄이 건강에 대한 포기정도로 왜곡되어 자각될 가능성이 있는 만큼, 본 연구를 통해 보고된 대상자들의 지역 사회 서비스에 대한 관심도는 고려해 볼만한 가치가 있다고 여겨지며, 이에 노인들의 자존감이 서비스 욕구에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구를 제언하는 바이다.

The population of Korean Society is aging rapidly at a pace which is unprecedented in the world. This demographic change results in the various socioeconomic and cultural changes accompanied by spatial changes. The purpose of this study is to examine major characteristics of residential medical facilities for the elderly and the life of those using the facilities of the Capital Region in Korea. Major findings of the study are as follows. The characteristics of the location of residential medical facilities for the elderly and the life of those using the facilities are influenced not only by the mobility of the elderly. but also by the distance between the facilities and Seoul and also by the residential environments of the facilities. The location of the facilities and the mobility of the elderly, followed by the residential location of the family have an effect on everyday life of the elderly. Therefore, the location for residential medical facilities is not recommended to be far from the metropolitan area.

This study was conducted with the purpose of verifying the effect of the working environment of elderly care workers on service quality and the mediating effect of emotional labor and recognition of filial piety. The subjects of the study were 460 elderly care workers. For the collected data, SPSS Process macro was used. As a result, First, it was found that all variables had a significant positive (+) relationship. Second, the parallel mediating effect of emotional labor and recognition of filial piety was confirmed. Third, the mediating effect of recognition of filial piety and the moderating effect of emotional labor were verified. Based on this study, it was found that filial piety awareness education and emotional labor management are necessary. A follow-up study with a more expanded concept should be conducted.

UN has decided to observe the year 1999 as the International Year of Older Persons (IYOP). Since that year, older persons should have equal access to information in order to function effectively in an information society for all. Public library should be a important access point for older persons, and above all, be a leading ole to bridge digital devide in the regional community. There are, however, few policies or guidelines for public library services to older persons in Korea. This is a time fur developing these ones at the national level. In this study, the draft for public library services to older persons is suggested.

This study examined the factors affecting forms of long-term care service use by elderly and the forms of use are classified facility care service, home care service, and unused. It is used data from the 2nd pilot program for the Long Term Care Insurance scheme and it is analysed 5,497 cases. Multi-nominal regression is used. According to the results, women use formal service more than man do, and wowen use facility care than home care. Those who eligible for National Basic Livelihood Security System(NBLSS) are shown to have higher use of formal care(especially facility care) than the middle income class, and the low income class than the middle income class has lower use of formal care. In addition, higher the family care is available, lower the taking part in the service. The big cities and mid sized cities than rural are used the formal service and moreover mid sized cities are used facility care than home care. Furthermore, the level of care need is determinants of service use and function of ADL, IADL, and abnormal behavior is also determinants of formal service(especially facility care). But nursing need and rehabilitation need are not determinants of formal service use. Based on the results, the recommendations are developed and implemented for the improvement the elderly long-term care insurance.

This study was to investigate the differences of functional health status and medical service experience and needs between general and vulnerable older people in community. This study is a cross-sectional descriptive research. The data obtained through direct visit surveys from November to December 2016. The target population of the study was older people over 65 years old, the final study subjects were 444 older people residing in one district of Seoul. The chi-square test was conducted to confirm the difference in their functional health areas and medical service experiences, and the necessity of medical service utilization in accordance to the social class. In the experience of abnormality in functional health, the vulnerable older people had higher experience in cognitive function, nutrition, hydration, pain, and falling than the general older people. The rate of experience of using medical service to solve the cognitive function problem for general older people was 31.9%, higher than that of the vulnerable older people. In contrast, the medical service utilization needs of the vulnerable older people in the pain management category was significantly higher than that of the general older people. In setting policy of public medical service programs for general and vulnerable older people in community may be differentially developed based on this study. In order to improve the medical accessibility of the vulnerable older people, public medical institutions should be actively supported to overcome obstacles to medical use due to economic barriers.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of care workers' assistance services on behavioral changes of the elderly. To achieve this, a survey was carried out on 100 elderly people, who receive the services from care workers in J area-based elderly care facilities, and elderly patient families. The results of this study are as follows. First, the effect of care workers' assistance services on the elderly's satisfaction of physical activities showed that the nursing and caregiving services have a significant positive effect on their satisfaction of physical activities(p<.05). Second, the effect of care workers' assistance services on the elderly's satisfaction of psycho-emotional activities showed that the caregiving services have a significant positive effect on their satisfaction of psycho-emotional activities(p<.01). Third, the effect of care workers' assistance services on the elderly's satisfaction of social cognition activities showed that the caregiving services have a significant positive effect on their satisfaction of social cognition activities(p<.01). Consequently, if the elderly receive the repetitive and continuous nursing and caregiving service in the limit that is forced to deteriorate the elderly's physical, psychological and cognitive development, and slow down their activities, there will be changes and promotion in their physical, psychological and cognitive behaviors. In other words, it is of use in that care workers' continuous assistance services can improve the elderly's life, driven by the changes of their physical, psychological and cognitive behaviors.
