The Relationship among Leisure Experience, Exercise flow Adherence of Senior in Fitness Center (스포츠센터 노인 운동 프로그램 참여자의 여가경험과 여가몰입 및 운동만족의 관계)

  • The main purpose of this study is to closely investigate the constructive relationship between leisure satisfaction, leisure ability, exercise satisfaction, and consistent motor behavior patterns of the elderly's participation in leisure life sports. In order to achieve this, we surveyed and utilized the sampling of conveniences that selected Yongin and Seongnam city in Gyeonggi-do sports clubs, and accumulated samples of the elderly in living sports. The sample size was 239 elderly people. Based on this, according to the purpose of the study, statistical techniques, spss 23.0, and amos programs were used for analysis. The satisfaction analysis used in the research for a data analysis includes frequency analysis, exploatory factor analysis, confirmatory facor analysis, reliability analysis, correnlation analysis and structure equation model analysis. The research has drawn the following conclusions, based on the above mentioned research method and its procedures: First, it affects the satisfaction of the leisure satisfaction movement. Second, leisure ability affects exercise satisfaction. Third, exercise satisfaction affects the consistent exercise persistence and immersion satisfaction of exercise. As a result, it can be seen that the leisure immersion according to the experience of leisure competence has an effect on the satisfaction of the exercise.   • According to U.S. Bureau of Census (1984), the number of older adults (over the age of sixty) has grown twice as fast as the rest of the population over the past twenty-five years. It is predicted that between 1980 and 2020, their number will double again, In 1985, National Bureau of Statistics, Economic Planning Board, Republic of Korea reported that the number of older adults over 60 years of age was 2.7 million (6.7% of the total population). It is projected that their number will become 3.9 million (8% of the total population) by the year 2000.

A Study of the Relationship between Facility Satisfaction, Depression and ADL in the Elderly People Residing in Nursing Homes (양로원 노인의 시설 만족도, 우울 및 일상생활수행의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between satisfaction with facility, depression and ADL in elderly people residing in nursing homes. Data were collected between April 4 and 16, 2001 using a structured questionnaire which included general characteristics, facility satisfaction, depression and ADL scales. The results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Depression and ADL showed a significant relationship(r=0.340, p=0.004). 2. ADL and satisfaction with facility also showed a significant relationship(r= 0.401. p=0.001). 3. There was no direct relationship between depression and satisfaction with facility (r=0.133. p=0.269). In conclusion, the following suggestions are made : First there is a need for continuous study on the relationship between satisfaction with facility. depression and ADL in elderly people residing in nursing homes. Second, a wide range of study on elderly people who live in home and stay at hospital in addition to those who reside in nursing homes is required.

The Convergence Effect of Oral Health Level on Daily Life of Elderly Women (여성노인의 구강건강 수준이 일상생활에 미치는 융합적인 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of oral health status on daily life of elderly women. The subjects of this study were 142 elderly women aged 60 years or older who were surveyed through questionnaires, interviews, counseling, and oral examinations. The SPSS program was used for frequency analysis, descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The results of the study showed that the number affected on daily life were 1.4 in average and the oral health condition was the highest at scaling (59.4%). When the oral status was unsatisfactory, it was found to be uncomfortable in daily life. In case of oral pain, oral status and poor removal of calculus, the number and frequency in daily life were increased. In conclusion, the oral health of elderly women can improve their daily life ability and affect the quality of life. Therefore, a systematic oral care plan is needed through the expansion of oral health promotion education for elderly women and the development of continuous preventive programs.

Influence of Job Stress, Coping Strategies on life satisfaction in long-term care workers -focused in Gyeonggi-do- (요양보호사의 업무 스트레스와 대처전략이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향 -경기도를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore job stress, coping strategies and life satisfaction, and to identify related factors in long-term care workers. A cross-sectional study was used to study 111 long-term care workers in Gyeonggi-do. Questionnaires were given to the workers, and data were collected between 1 February and 30 March 2015. The data were analyzed using a stress scale, and a life-satisfaction index. The major findings were: 1) The type of facility was a significant factor in life satisfaction of long-term care workers (F=4.11, p=.020). 2) A statistically significant relationship existed between job stress(r=-.46, p<.001), coping strategies(r=.21, p=.040) and life satisfaction. 3) The results of the regression analyses showed that job stress, coping strategies, and type of facility were statistically significant in predicting the life satisfaction level of long-term care workers. The result of this study provides a better understanding of job stress, coping strategies, and life satisfaction in long-term care workers.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the determinants of life satisfaction and social support among the elderly. For this purpose, a set of characteristic factors that are supposed to affect elderly life satisfaction were suggested and empirically analyzed. To achieve this study used final analysis with 470 questionnaires which did a questionnaire survey after gathering purposeful sampling method of 500 person who were visiting on Senior Club and Senior Welfare Center. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS statistical program. The methods of analysis were frequency, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, characteristic factors such as the family relation, health and economic of the elderly have significant impacts on their life satisfaction. Secondly, it was seen that social support regulated the effects of family relation and economic on characteristic factors. The implications of this study are, above all, to build a human network for training, education and social support for career development while participating in the labor market. Such activities could lead to social support for economic independence in old age.

  • As Korea enters an aging age, social efforts to improve the IADL of the elderly are increasing. In this study, to improve the performance of financial management activities that the elderly is particularly burdened, we aim to learn the elderly through ATM simulation education contents so that they can use ATM smoothly. To this end, interviews were conducted with seniors to derive four major financial activities (deposits, withdrawals, deposit inquiries and bank account arrangements), and developed tablet PC-based ATM education contents identical to the existing bank ATM interfaces. The experiment was conducted on 20 elderly people in the Elderly Day Care Center, and their satisfaction, fatigue and performance were measured before and after education. The results of this study can provide ATM design guidelines for the elderly who have difficulty using ATM.

Health Condition and Satisfaction of Elderly People Living in Free Welfare Facilities (무료시설 노인의 건강상태와 생활만족도)

  • Purpose: This study focused on the health conditions and satisfaction in day-to-day life of elders using welfare facilities where there is no charge, and thus provides basic data for development of quality services required for health enhancement and a variety of demands from these elders. Method: The participants in the study were 140 elders selected at random from facilities for elders in Taegu. The tools for the study were the Korean Health Status Measure for the Elderly (Shin, H. C., 2002), and Yoon's "Criteria of Older Adults Life Satisfaction"(1982). Results: Differences in life satisfaction were found according to general characteristics of the elders, and that a lack of caretaker professionalism and relationships with other elders, but not the program were scored lower. In the correlation between health status and life satisfaction, it was found that emotional, social function and physical pain showed correlations with life satisfaction. Conclusion: It is necessary for the enhancement of health status of these elders and improvement in life satisfaction that a variety of nursing interventions be implemented.
